You provide sheets, pillowcases and towels. Custom lighting on dimmer switches ranges from Italian tole chandeliers and antique lamps to Japanese lanterns and a disco ball. Lovely vintage paintings of flowers, lakes and "ladies of the lake" adorn the walls. The waterfront is clear, deep and hard-bottomed; the 330 acre lake is excellent for swimming, boating, fishing, and water skiing. Furnished decks both at water-level and cantilevered over the lake have beautiful views. There's a private swimming raft with shade umbrella on the lake. The Space****There is more to life than being in an alcohol induced coma. Drink responsibly. Quiet seclusion. Located on 3 acres and nestled perfectly and quietly among the native woodland of the southern Adirondack mountains(including balsam, hemlock, maple, and oak trees), Auskerada offers a unique and traditional lodging experience, with seclusion unlike most cabins in the area. Waking up to the sounds of nature you'll will find it effortless to unwind from a world of electronics(but we have those too). As you approach Auskerada you'll notice the rustic charm and care that has gone into such an extraordinary cabin. With all details considered and created by your host, you'll understand why guests come back time and again. From the stone chimney and natural landscaping to its rustic traditional Adirondack railings, you tend to forget the coldness of city life as the log cabin historically exudes warmth and invite even in the dead of winter. You will notice the large inviting promenade style porch along the front of the lodge which harkens back to a day when the porch was the center of neighborly society and conversation. The promenade offers comfortable rocking chairs, ceiling fans, and plenty of lighting for charm and mood including a stained glass post light that bids goodnight to the setting sun, welcoming the moon and the night time serenade of Adirondack wildlife...and asks "How was your day?" when returning from a day of shopping, skiing, hiking, fishing, canoeing, or just a day in the sun. On the south-facing side is a well thought out screened porch(a must have in the Adirondacks) offering a quaint sitting area for reading or a private romantic breakfast. It's the best way to enjoy the outdoors comfortably from nighttime insects. Also what's most inviting in this space is our new hot tub! Lending itself to the desirability of the cabin, this feature offers a spa-like escape for the fatigued hiker(or (URL HIDDEN) and is a perfect remedy for a chill in the autumn or winter air. As you soak in the CLEAN fresh water of the jacuzzi, you will enjoy the sites and peacefulness of the surrounding woodland. Fresh white towels hang next to the hot tub on rustic fish hangers. Ok, enough about that.......let's go inside. Upon entering through the classic front door via keyless entry(your code will be given to you prior to your arrival) you will feel instantly at home. Auskerada's rustic decor is front and center offering a comfort that other cabins cannot provide. The lodge is completely renovated and immaculate right down to the scents, and Adirondack detail that are specifically appointed making you a spoiled guest right from the start. Natural surfaces calm the spirit as an Adirondack getaway is intended to do. Every space is full of detail, comfort, and surprise for the curious traveler. Handmade items, antique finds, and Adirondack art fill these spaces. Two screened-in spaces are available for outdoor comfort. All guests enjoy Pine's Peak all year round(but crisp autumn days are certainly the best. I enjoy listening to the call of the loons on the lake from this space. The hot tub is available for use, but requires an additional charge of $35/wkend or $50/week. We like to try to keep our prices a bit lower for guests who do not wish to use the hot tub. Late June to early September we require a 6 night minimum. Guest AccessFor guests that need to get away from the office without detaching from the office, wireless internet and free nationwide long distance. Netflix and a blue-ray player are also available for your stay. We include a 2 man canoe with oars and life jackets for a tour around the lake. Fresh ground coffee, tea, and snacks are provided. The SpaceTwo cabins are available at Camp Garoga. So if our calendar shows no vacancy please inquire. If you are interested in the cabin with the jacuzzi, please let me know when inquiring. I do have other cabins as well, with jacuzzis. Think of Camp Garoga as a log cabin condo. Meticulous and affordable(priced just higher than hotels in town yet offering SO MUCH MORE!). We take great pride in owning one of the 3rd nicest cabin accommodations around. **FYI, we also hold the #1 and #2 positions :) The cabins are back to back to each other with Moose Cabin facing west and Bear Cabin facing east. In regards to amenities both cabins are completely separate from each other with their own driveways, private screen porch, fire-pit and gas grill. The likelihood of seeing the other guests is slim(unless you're both hiking the private 400 wooded acres with trails that start at your doorstep). Moose Cabin now offers a BRAND NEW 4 person jacuzzi! Please inquire about availability. There is an additional $35 jacuzzi fee for a 2-3 night stay and an $50 additional fee for 4-7 night stay. This fee is not secured through Airbnb and is due on arrival. We think that it's a wonderful addition to the cabin and are excited to have finally installed it. Some guests have mentioned the quality of the water and have expressed concern(including 2 older guests who left a gas burner on for 2 DAYS STRAIGHT without a flame and blamed the odor on the tap water. I can't believe they made it out alive, yet never mentioned it until I informed them that housekeeping nearly dropped dead when she walked in to clean 2 hours after they left. Please know your carcinogens, people :/ ) Well water isn't like city water and does have a different taste, but the water is VERY safe to drink(as most people in the area use it) and is excellent for your skin and hair. If you prefer not to use the tap water for drinking, we do supply an unlimited supply of fresh drinking water(which is delicious) Pets are not allowed in any of our cabins. Character, warmth, and charm are the cornerstones behind the very idea of Camp Garoga. We wanted to create an inviting, cozy, and AFFORDABLE space for guests who wish to explore ALL of what the Adirondack's can provide. Whether you're looking to enjoy a long romantic weekend or a week long vacation for the your adventurous family, Camp Garoga offer so much more than a hotel ever could and it won't disappoint. Upon pulling in the driveway you will notice the care and attention to detail starting with the traditional rustic adirondack style twig work rails on the screened in porch. Reminiscent of the historic "great camps" from the onset of Adirondack lodging. The comfortable screened in porch offers privacy as well as a sitting area for reading and relaxing out doors and a picnic table for any meal of the day or playing one of the many board games provided. Most cabins in the area overlook the importance of the adirondack screen porch, offering you solace from the springtime bugs and nighttime insects that would otherwise be attracted to your evening reading light. We have added 2 porch ceiling fans for your added comfort. Once you enter through the double French doors, nothing will disappoint! From the light balsam fragrance and immaculate accommodations, to the handmade soap and the natural pine woodwork we have created a cabin masterpiece. And it HAS to be clean! Our cleaning staff is spot on with keeping the cabins looking brand new each and everytime. Our guests continuously feel that they're the first ever guests and feel instantly at home. The bedrooms and living room space are ULTRA inviting with their unique cabin decor, clean linens, and quaint reading spaces. With the fireplace being the heart of the cabin. Garoga borders over 400 wooded acres for your immediate outdoor needs right from your doorstep. Particularly enjoyable would be a morning walk along the trails with a cup of coffee or tea. Let the kids loose to enjoy the woodland or large grassy backyard with fire pit(some wood provided). The occasional bench along the trails offers a comfortable and quiet resting place for reading a good book or just taking in the private forest surroundings. Autumn and winter walks are particularly enjoyable! And when you've worked up a good chill, the cabin awaits your arrival for a warm fireside nap or conversation. Sit on the hearth with its bearskin rug for instant warmth. No detail is overlooked! Not only was Garoga built by the owners, but the rustic details inside are original as well. Specifically built for the cabins in a small wood shop on site(in the historic Adirondack great camp tradition), nearly every Adirondack inspired table, sign, and mirror was hand crafted by your host. A genuine love of the Adirondack style is pleasantly obvious throughout both the Bear and Moose cabins. Each cabin boasts 20 foot cathedral ceilings with natural pine woodwork, a loft, skylights, and antler chandeliers. Beautifully finished pine plank flooring hand engraved with bear paw prints or oak leaves throughout(depending on which cabin you're in) add unexpected charm. Comfortable bedding and cozy new furniture offers you a relaxing and enjoyable stay. If you enjoy coffee or tea, Garoga has that covered! We supply as much as you need. If special arrangements need to be made in regards to birthdays, anniversaries, or even marriage proposals(we've had our share), your host is ALWAYS there to help make it happen flawlessly. Don't be afraid to ask. Our reviews on other sites speak for themselves as guests return year after year, season after season to the special accommodations of Camp Garoga. Come be a part of our growing family of regulars at this one of a kind cabin experience. Where as I require guests meet with me upon your arrival, my preference is to leave you alone to enjoy the coziness of the cabin. Texting is the best way to accomplish that. Most guests text me periodically throughout the day for special attention, or many times just to say hello (go figure). I want to be reachable at all times of your stay but I don't want to be 'all up in your grill'. Unless it's your gas grill and the propane needs to be replenished. Because in that case, you want me up in your grill. The cabin is located in a rural area without much foot traffic. It is a very safe place to enjoy the outdoors. Although there are bears in the area, the odds of you running into one is very rare. In 13 years I've seen 3 and only one was by the cabin. Rt 29, 29A, 10, and 30 are the best roads to get you to where you want to go. Both 29's run east and west, while 10 and 30 run north to south. Some firewood is provided for your outdoor fire pit, but if you plan on excessive use(which is fine), there are local roadside places to purchase extra campfire wood. We charge a $100 premium for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We require a 3 night minimum for any holiday weekend. Guest AccessCabin will be unlocked in preparation of your arrival. Moose Cabin is the left-side driveway, while Bear Cabin is the right-side driveway. Interaction with GuestsTexting is a great way for me to stay in contact with you. That way I am not interfering with your visit. It's important for me to meet you on your arrival. The NeighborhoodThe cabin borders 400+ acres for your leisure enjoyment with marked trails and benches along the way. There isn't anything remotely touristy about this location which allows you to be free of interruption. Camp Garoga is a high quality cabin experience at hotel prices and is a great location for complete relaxation or a "home base" for day trips. There are plenty of hiking trails within a short driving distance. Getting AroundMost of your stores for shopping are located in historic Johnstown. There you will find groceries, restaurants, as well as a movie theater and a super WalMart. Other Things to NoteFor the months of July and August we require a 3 night minimum. Holidays require a $50 premium to be added(I will try to keep the calendar updated to reflect the price difference, but sometimes I do forget. I apologize in advance if this does occur.

The SpaceWe want you to be our guest! If we have availability for the week you are interested in, let us know what you can afford to pay and we'll try to help you plan a wonderful and affordable vacation! IMPORTANT: Sweetheart is heated primarily by a wood stove. It is not well insulated and can get chilly in the late Fall season. If you do not feel comfortable with a wood stove (it may have to be stoked throughout the night) then this may not be the house for you. If you're up for a great price, "roughing it" in the cooler weather, this is definitely the house for you! "Sweetheart" is a cheerful three-season vacation home just steps away from a private beach shared with neighbors on beautiful East Caroga Lake. The talented owners, a designer/builder and a gourmet cook, have turned "Sweetheart" into a relaxed, informal retreat with a focus on outdoor living. The spacious, level double lot, with its lovely backdrop of mixed woodland, features an outdoor kitchen, hot outdoor shower, six-person jetted spa, picnic table, and a comfortable living area circling a stone fire pit. The exterior of "Sweetheart" is classic Adirondack - barn red clapboard siding with mullioned windows and shutters painted a forest green, the front yard soft with pine needles from stately trees rimming the property, paths and borders carefully edged with native stones. Indoors, white-washed cedar walls and aqua enameled wood floors lend a touch of "beach shack" atmosphere, repeated in seascape oil paintings and shell collections. (An exuberant painting collection also includes landscaped and still-lifes.) The open living area features a large living room and an eat-in kitchen. Comfortable sofas and lounge chairs are soft beige leather or covered in custom white cotton matelasse slipcovers. Sheer window curtains soften the light. The cathedral ceiling is hung with light strands and vintage colored-glass globe chandeliers for an amber glow. A brick fireplace with wood stove insert centers one wall. The wood stove showcases beautiful fires and efficiently heats the camp on chilly evenings. Entertainment options include TV (no cable), DVD and VCR, a stereo, and board games. High-speed WI-FI internet access is provided for your laptop computer. The kitchen has large, charmingly old-fashioned "camp" windows that swing open on top-hinges to hook onto the rafters above, white vintage cabinetry, and a 30's vintage sheet linoleum floor in a harlequin pattern of black, red and gray diamonds that we happily uncovered during renovation. The antique wood dining table and painted kitchen chairs seat six. The fully-equipped eat-in kitchen includes refrigerator, fabulous vintage electric range with "crock pot" slow-cooker insert, enameled sink with built-in drainboard, microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker and food processor. A china cupboard holds a charming array of vintage dinnerware, while a butcher block unit stores generous serving bowls and platters. Vintage cast iron and enamelware pots and pans hang from the rafters; a hand-crafted plank shelf with its natural raw, curved front edge holds spices above the range. A large mirror on the range wall reflects beautiful green light from the kitchen's two walls of windows; the windows above the sink serve as a pass-through to the outdoor kitchen. The master bedroom features the rustic glamour of a queen-size canopy bed hand-crafted by the Amish from twigs and branches painted a dreamy white and swathed in little white string lights. Wall hooks and a vintage painted dresser with a kitsch "Elvis" lamp are tucked into the room for clothes storage. The walls are white with a distressed-finish antique door. Two windows offer circulation of cooling lake breezes. The second bedroom features a trundle bed (two twin beds that can be made into a king size bed). A window looks out across lawn to lovely evergreen trees. A dresser and wall hooks provide clothes storage. A full sleeper-sofa on the sun porch allows "Sweetheart" to accommodate a total of six guests. The beds are outfitted with attractive spreads, blankets, and pillows. Guests provide their own linens: sheets, pillowcases, and towels. The enclosed sun porch, with three walls of multi-paned glass and screened windows that are curtained for privacy, is an ideal den or third bedroom. A suite of luxuriously comfortable beige leather furniture includes a sectional sofa that incorporates two recliners and a full sleeper-sofa, providing plenty of space for hanging out as well as sleeping in. An ivory-enameled Jotul free-standing gas fireplace keeps "Sweetheart" cozy in cool weather. Next to the bedrooms is a full bath with toilet, console sink, and shower. One wall of the bathroom serves as a graffiti guest book, with dry markers to write on the white chalkboard surface. An outdoor hot shower and hot tub (along with a dip in the lake!) provide summer's best bathing experiences. The convenient outdoor kitchen features a substantial gas grill, a bank of metal cabinets with granite countertop, and a large picnic table whose comfortable benches have backs to them and seat six easily. Bluestone stepping stones set in a pebble patio lead to the six-person jetted spa offering relaxation under the stars. Next to the spa is an enclosed outdoor shower with dressing area. In the large, grassy clearing beyond, a collection of comfortable Adirondack furniture, including a rustic swing, encircles a stone fire pit for bonfires and s'mores. Nearby is a horseshoe pit. A short walk across the quiet road rimming East Caroga Lake brings you to the sandy, protected waterfront shared with a handful of neighbors. In addition to offering great swimming, you may rent kayaks or canoes to launch from here for fishing and exploring East Caroga Lake's many coves and inlets. A channel leads to West Caroga Lake, allowing boaters to paddle to the village center for a meal. Hiking, mountain biking and ATV trails, trout-fishing streams, state hunting land, and gorgeous views from a mountaintop fire tower are all nearby. The county has seven golf courses and 44 lakes to enjoy, ranging from small hidden lakes on hiking trails to the 26 mile long Great Sacandaga. The village of Caroga Lake has restaurants, taverns, post office, laundromat, general store, coffee shop, gas, ATM, video rentals, and a chapel. All the amenities of a friendly, small city are 15 minutes away in the historic sister-cities of Gloversville and Johnstown. Centrally located in the accessible southern Adirondacks, just 30 minutes north of the NY State Thruway, "Sweetheart" is a great location for easy daytrip excursions to Saratoga (Performing Arts Center, Thoroughbred Racing, and much more), Lake George, Great Sacandaga Lake, Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame, Farmer's Museum, Fenimore Museum, Howe Caverns), the Albany capital region, and much of the six million acre Adirondack Park, including Blue Mountain Lake and Tupper Lake, homes of renowned Adirondack regional museums. It's about an hour to Saratoga, Cooperstown, and Albany; about four hours to New York, Boston, Buffalo, and Montreal. "Sweetheart" accommodates a maximum of six guests at all times. There is off-street parking for three cars. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. "Sweetheart" has a NO SHOES policy; bring slippers or flip-flops for indoor use. Guest AccessWe realize that the hot tub is a very nice feature at Sweetheart. Please use it wisely- shower before entering, don't use lotions, oils, etc. We want all of our guests to be able to enjoy it! If there seems to be a problem, please let us know right away and we will do our best to make it right as soon as possible. Please note that it can be finicky and does require maintenance. For that reason, there are no guarantees. We want you to be fully aware that you may not always have access and there is no refunds if for some unforeseen reason it is not fit for use. Hasn't happened many times but we don't want any disappointment. Rest assured, we always try our very best! The NeighborhoodBeautiful lake, great swimming, friendly neighbors, peace and quiet, awesome stars, fun fire pit, plenty of hikes, fun bars, close to Saratoga and some cute little towns. Great small town feel. Gorgeous! Getting AroundUnfortunately public transportation besides expensive cab rides are non-existent. Great place to get away from it all! If you are coming from the city you would need to rent a car for best experience :) Other Things to NoteWe realize that the hot tub is a very nice feature at Sweetheart.
