The SpaceOur rustic three acre camp consists of three cottages, a small boathouse and an authentic Native American Tipi at the end of a dead-end dirt road. We have 200 feet of direct shoreline on Lake Bomoseen, the largest natural lake in Vermont. The lake is approximately 6 miles long by a mile wide. Crystal clear water for great swimming, water skiing, boating, and bass, trout, and bluegill fishing. Two docks, one for boats, one for swimming and a swim platform out about 30 yards from the dock to perform those belly flop dives. Each cabin comes with its own rowboat. There are kayaks, a windsurfer and a sail boat available to rent. The local marina rents pontoon boats and speed boats. The depth of the water at the shoreline is less than a foot so the little kids can paddle around. At the swim platform it’s about 12 feet deep. The water is crystal clear and rated as AA drinking water. We face west for spectacular sunsets. Up by the tipi is the fire pit where you can roast marshmallows and hot dogs. The "Birch" Cabin sits atop a hill, with three flights of stairs that lead down to the lake. Jump off the swim dock into the crystal clear water and float around or head out for the float platform and bask in the sun. Early in the morning, you may see our local Blue Herons, Osprey or the pileated Woodpecker fresh out of a Walt Disney movie. A recent arrival are the Bald Eagles soaring overhead nearby. If you're more the fisherman, we've got you covered. Grab a license at the nearby bait shop and cast your line off our fishing-friendly dock. Bluegills and small and large mouth bass can be seen meandering nearby. The northern pikes and brown trout are a bit more elusive. There are three fishing contests on the lake each year. Two in the summer. One in the winter. Record lengths and poundage!! Dockage is available for smaller boats (12') at no extra charge. Mooring for larger boats may be available. Both only upon request. Activities abound nearby: rodeos, shopping, golf, Six Flags, Lake George, Killington, Manchester, hiking, mountain climbing, and great restaurants. A 9% Vermont Room Tax is additional. Guest AccessThe tipi, paddle boat, and boat house are private. Use can be discussed. Interaction with GuestsSally and I are available at check in and check out for your convenience. We can help with your plans for the week and orient you to the lake and the local villages. The NeighborhoodOur cabins are at the end of a dead end dirt road! No traffic noise. No traffic!! The SpaceThe property is 25 minutes away from ski mountains (Stratton Mountain, Bromley, Okemo, Magic Mountain, etc... ), outlet shops, country shops and the near by Bennington offers all the comforts of cinemas, supermarkets, shops and the famous covered bridges. The surrounding areas offer bike paths, hiking paths, canoeing, fishing, skiing, hunting, shooting ranges, horseback riding, incredible views and nearby neighbors like the farm set for the movie "Baby Boom" from the director of "Back to the Future". The cabin was completely renovated in 2013 and boasts modern glass shower and fixtures, new stainless steel kitchen appliances with granite tops. Open plan living areas, new 800 sqf. of deck, centralized heating and a huge stone fireplace. The SpaceThe house comfortably accommodates 4-6 people, with a bedroom with a queen-sized bed that overlooks the lake, and another bedroom with two twin-sized beds that can be put together as one...We have a very comfortable brand new foldout futon to accomodate additional guests on indoor sun porch overlooking the lake!! Please view our photos. There is ample space to hang out, enjoy time with family and friends or find solitude. A small sunroom on the upper level is an enjoyable cozy spot to read a book, play music or even sleep a child or two. There is an upstairs living room, with a working gas fireplace for the colder months, and a separate downstairs living room with a couch, chair, coffee table and foosball. On the dock, there is a table for outdoor dining (our favorite spot) and lounge chairs. A small pool can be set up to give kids another option for playing in the water. There are two adjoining bathrooms, one full with a shower/tub bath and one half with a toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, blender, toaster, and some basic cooking supplies. This is a family home that our grown children and their young children spend ample time in over the course of the year and we are happy to rent it to guests who are responsible, will take care of our home away from home, and are interested in taking advantage of the beauty and outdoor fun that Lake Bomoseen and the surrounding area have to offer. The NeighborhoodThe house is a 5-minute drive to Castleton, home to the Castleton Country Store, which has a great selection of well-priced wine and beer, Depot cafe is a must, delicious food and sweet treats, and the Castleton Diner. Just up the road, the Lakehouse Restaurant offers food and drinks with waterfront views,currently under construction, the palms at prospect bay golf course just down the road is wonderful. Fishtails bar and restaurant, the Trak Inn, The Iron Lantern. Shawn in Fair Haven is the nearest full grocery store. Rutland city center is a 20-minute drive, Middlebury is 30 minutes away, Killington ski area is 30 minutes, and Manchester outlet shopping is a 45-minute drive away. Getting AroundIt is essential to have a car to get around. However, there is an Amtrak track train station conveniently located a mere 10 minutes away from the house, at the Castleton train stop or in Rutland, which is 20 minutes away. Other Things to NoteThree kayaks are available to guests, as well as well as inner tubes and other water toys. There is easy access to swimming (from the dock, and nearby Crystal Beach or Bomoseen State Park), as well as great hikes, road and mountain biking, and a nearby golf course down the road at Prospect Point. The downstairs dock and upper deck are perfect for private yoga/meditation sessions, especially in the morning. For birdwatchers, ducks often swim by, a local blue heron regularly lands on the raft, and a family of bald eagles lives on nearby Neshobe Island. For indoor entertainment, there is ample space to enjoy the company of friends and family as well as a DVD player, a game station, and a foosball table.

        Ideal lake front summer home on flat grassy lawn down to 75 ft of shallow sandy bottom waterfront on popular Indian Point. Gorgeous views and fabulous sunsets. Outdoor shower, (indoor also) large screen porch with dining area and daybed, gas grill, fire pit for marshmallows, very clean and neat, recently updated. No pets/smoking. This property is located in a VERY desirable area of Lake Bomoseen. The swimming is a clear sandy shallow bottom. Ideal for small children. Ski boats, jet skiis, rowboats, party boats and kayaks are available for rental at Woodards Marine. Prospect Bay golf course is 3 miles and fine dining is available both on the Lake and close by. The home is a quick 45 mins to Outlet shopping at Lake George and the Great Escape Amusement Park. Horseback riding is also available within 5 miles.

Located directly on Lake Bomoseen with private dock for up to an 18 foot boat. 1st bedroom has a queen, the 2nd and 3rd bedroom have full size beds, and the den has a full size bed.         Lots of Vermont charm in this home! The bedrooms were originally horse stalls and kids just love that magic! Fully stocked kitchen, Franklin stove as well as central heat & a/c.. Large basement contains a ping-pong table + washer and dryer & small fridge. Outdoors, a very large area of mowed grass creates room for lawn games like badminton & even sledding in the winter! Crystal Beach is up the road and the lake marina is great for renting a boat or there is a site for launching your own. Indoors there is a game closet for rainy days. Early in the morning, you may see our local blue herons or the pileated woodpecker fresh out of a Walt Disney movie. New arrivals are the Bald Eagles! If you're more the fisherman, we've got you covered. Grab a license at the nearby bait shop and cast your line off our fishing-friendly dock. Bluegills and small and large mouth bass can be seen meandering nearby. The northern pikes and brown trout are a bit more elusive. There are three fishing contests on the lake each year. Two in the summer. One in the winter. Record lengths and poundage!! Dockage is available for smaller boats (12'') at no extra charge. Mooring for larger boats may be available. Both only upon request. Activities abound nearby: rodeos, shopping, golf, Six Flags, Lake George, Killington, Manchester, Woodstock, hiking, mountain climbing, and great restaurants
