All bathrooms and the ground floor cloak room are fitted out in the very best modern suites boasting underfloor heating and heated towel rails.
Entertain or just relax in the superb lounge which boasts a 50' smart television and blu ray player, and keep in touch on social media with the free WiFi. Driftwood Barn at Knock Rushen Barns is in the ancient capital of the Isle of Man, Castletown. The harbour town boasts a championship links golf course, which weaves it's way around the Langness peninsula. Castletown Links is unrivalled by no other courses, with its dramatic rugged coastline backdrop and panaramic views of the Irish Sea, and the challenging holes designed for the daring and the adventurous in the golfing fraternity.
Castletown, is dominated by the imposing Medieval fortress of Castle Rushen. The castle is one of the best preserved in Europe and was once frequented by the Kings and Lords of Mann, and is today a popular venue for marriage ceremonies. Located around the picturesque harbour you’ll also find the Nautical Museum, where you can learn about the Island’s maritime history, and the Old House of Keys - the ancient parliament home of the Isle of Man.
The accommodation is a stones throw away from Scarlett Beach, an area renowned for its unspoilt beauty, wild and rugged coastline that allows for long brisk walks. Either keep close to the coastal path and it's spectacular limestone and volcanic rock formations, or be lead rambling inland along the many nature trails. If you love to walk there is no greater place. Walkers will also appreciate the footpaths which lead to Port Erin or Spanish Head, Cregneash and the Chasms in Port St Mary. The waters around the Sound and Calf of Man are full of wildlife, and is a hotspot for seals who can be found sunbathing on the rocks. The area is also frequented by dolphins and basking sharks. The Calf of Man is also the perfect place to study many aspects of bird life with around 33 species breeding annually and it is located on one of western Britain's major migration routes.
Local shops, restaurants and pubs can be found a 3 minute walk from the accommodation in the attractive town square, often used in film productions. With the airport just a 5 minute car journey away, and the islands ferry port in the capital, Douglas, just 20 minutes away, Driftwood Barn at Knock Rushen could not be a more convenient and central destination, for a quiet and restful stay with excitement and adventure just a breath away.
