Two cozy rooms with double beds. $75/night for one room. $100/night for both rooms. Breakfast and coffee (espresso & americano) available. Just off I-695 (I-95 Baltimore Beltway.) 20 minutes to Johns Hopkins, downtown Baltimore, BWI-Marshall Airport, one hour or less to Washington. Comfortable. Great stopover on north-south trip. Many natural, historical and cultural things to experience. Bay or mountains - less than 1hour. Ocean - 2.5 hours. Ours is a very comfortable, relatively spacious colonial house on a tree-lined street. Two small, curious and friendly dogs (King Charles Cavalier Spaniels) share the house. Ask us about pet-stay compatibility with your animal friend. Guests have a private bathroom with shower near the rooms and a shared powder room near the kitchen. They will have use of the living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry. There is a driveway for free parking. We, including dogs, will be present for most bookings. We are glad to interact or assist as much as guests wish or need. We are very knowledgeable about the Baltimore/DC area and about travel in general. I have limited ability with Italian and German. Lochearn is an old, well-established Baltimore neighborhood with stone and slate houses. Ash and maple trees fill the well-kept yards. Liberty Road is commercial and busy. Shopping and services are a close drive. Public transportation is not the best, but is possible with patience. Bus and light rail. A car is ideal as the location is central to many aspects of the area. Couches and inflatable mattresses for kids and additional guests are available. Contact us for options and costs.

The SpaceWe are directly across the street from the Gwynns Falls river and waterfall and Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park. The setting is serene and surrounded by nature. Bring your bikes and follow the Gwynns Falls trail into downtown Baltimore. The village of Dickeyville is on the list of historic places, with beautiful gardens, and charming residents. There is even a house that was once the "jail" from back in the day when it was a 'mill town'. Check out the website for Dickeyville. It's really magical. I will provide everything you need in terms of linens for the bedrooms, along with fluffy bath and hand towels. The home is very large and guests have access to all of it. There are two patios for breakfast in the morning and an upstairs porch for a glass of wine in the evening. All in a quiet, peaceful, dog walking community. I do live on the premises, but the spaces are large enough for total privacy if needed. Guest AccessThere is a private area within the home that is totally separate from the main house. This area includes a large bedroom, living room with fireplace and large bathroom. All handicapped accessible. The main house boasts a fully renovated kitchen, living room, dining room, fireplace, 2 private bedrooms and 2 renovated bathrooms. Private patios for meals and private porch overlooking the river. Interaction with GuestsAs little or as much as they would like. I can offer recommendations for restaurants or other happenings around Baltimore. I can also respect your privacy and follow your lead on how much interaction you would like. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood reminds me of an old New England Village that time has forgotten. There are street lamps, and an 'Oddfellows' home, bordering one of the largest park systems on the East coast. Most folks are very friendly, love dogs and have sumptuous gardens. Many are in the arts and display their works in the local gallery we rent from the owners of the Oddfellows house. We also have a location for a book swap (drop a book/take a book located on the main street of the village. My house is on a street with no outlet. Very quiet. Getting AroundBaltimore is 15 minutes with traffic. You can bike into the city using the Gwynns Falls trail - there are other biking trails as well. Don't be surprised if you see deer, foxes, owls, and other fauna (animals know a good spot when they see it too!!) Best to bring a rental or your own car. Other Things to NoteThe house has one small dog (a pomeranian) who loves all people and other pets, in addition to a kitty who is very mellow. Both are quite friendly and get along with other animals.

Pet friendly yard, and organic vegetable garden. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you like. We live in the home and often spend evenings relaxing in the great room. Guests are welcome to join us, but we will not be offended if you prefer to stay in your room. The NeighborhoodQuiet street in a working class neighborhood that is in transition. Neighborhood has a mix of single family and multi-family homes, and a few vacant homes. Very large, older homes, that are being gutted and renovated in various stages of development. Close to Baltimore Zoo, Forest Park Golf Course, Druid Hill park, BCCC, Coppin State University, Cylburn Arboretum, Sinai and St. Agnes hospitals, and Pimlico - home of Preakness. A short drive to Loyola University, University of Baltimore, and Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Getting AroundWe recommend driving your own vehicle or renting a car. We have abundant, free, street parking. Off-street parking is available upon request. We have had guests who have used Uber to get around. We are 15 minutes to Penn Station by car. City bus stop one block from house. Park and Ride Metro access also close by, but NOT within walking distance. Rental car or Uber/Lyft from BWI airport. Other Things to NoteWe have a small dog - weighs only 8 pounds. The dog has full access of the house and is very friendly. We discourage her from entering your room & bath, but she may stick her head in if she is looking for us. Small (20 lbs or less), house-trained dogs are welcome as guests. Larger dogs will be assessed on a case by case basis. No cats, please - hosts are allergic. If you are afraid of, or just dislike dogs, this may not be a good fit for you.

The SpaceI live in a lovely 1928 colonial style home in a suburban neighborhood on the western edge of Baltimore with beautiful wood floors, high ceilings, original crystal handles on the doors, and a beautiful deck overlooking the yard. It's certainly not fancy, but my guests enjoy it and frequently remark on the loveliness of my home. (That's the word they always seem to choose!) I am a participant in the Airbnb community in its original intended way, meaning this is not a business for me. My home is not a boarding house or a hotel. I simply have a space that I am willing to share as a way of monetizing my property, participating in the new sharing economy, and making warm friendly connections with strangers. I live by myself and have a guest room with a very comfortable, medium-soft queen-sized mattress in a room with almost total blackout shades if you want to pull them and good windows that make it very quiet. The room is on the 2nd floor with a view of the backyard. I used to live in this room myself. It's cozy, quiet, and comfortable. Though you will have to share a bathroom with your hostess, I find a way to stay out of your way while you're in town. Airbnb guests tell me they have enjoyed walking through my music room, which has a 7 foot Steinway grand piano in it and lots of cool posters on the walls from concerts I have played, each of which has a story that I'm delighted to share! Apparently this makes staying with me rather unique. :) You should know that, while I will not practice late at night or early in the morning when I have guests, I do have to practice and that will happen in the home. Street parking is available. The house is only 15 minutes west of central downtown. A bus line runs along a street that is 2 blocks away. Cabs and Ubers can be called in advance. It only costs about $10-$13 on Uber to get a ride into downtown. My place is quiet, homey, peaceful, and comfortable, and the neighborhood is safe. I should mention that I use Airbnb as a traveler as well as a host. The thing I find most often when I stay in various places is that my standards of cleanliness seem to be higher than those in many other places I see. Before any guest checks in, the following things happen: Room is dusted, vacuumed, and if necessary, wood floor is mopped. Windows are cleaned. Sheets are washed and bed is remade. Toilet and shower are cleaned. All surfaces of counters and mirrors are cleaned in the bathroom. Floor is swept and mopped. Guest AccessYou have access, of course, to your room, and the bathroom, and also common areas such as the living room and kitchen. I have a deck on the back of the house which is appointed with a bar table and two chairs, with an umbrella to shade you from the sun. It's so peaceful to take your coffee out there in the morning, to listen to the birds and plan how you're going to spend your day. There is also a very comfortable area on my front porch with two adirondack chairs where you can enjoy a little front porch sittin'. The back deck is an awesome place to practice yoga or tai chi, and there's also a pull up bar in my basement, if you feel the need to pump up while you're here. Interaction with GuestsIt is my strong preference to be at home to greet you when you arrive. I've lived in Baltimore for 15 years and know a good bit about what's fun to do here and where the good restaurants are, so I'm happy to help you figure out how to explore! Baltimore's big selling points are its history as a bustling port town that was once more important to the country's industry than New York City was, and also the role it played in colonial history. The city has two world class art museums and a world class symphony orchestra (OK, OK, I'm in it, maybe I'm a LITTLE biased) (and by the way, I can sometimes obtain complimentary tickets to the Baltimore Symphony, so if this interests you, let me know and I'll see what I can do), and architecturally a lot to look at, as well as parks, gardens, two sports arenas, the famous Inner Harbor, and much more! I'm happy to leave you to your own devices, but also really enjoy the social aspect of Airbnb and would love to unwind with you with a glass of wine at day's end! You can tell me all about your adventures in my city. The NeighborhoodIf you enjoy walking, my neighborhood, known as Ten Hills, is a perfect place to do that. Just a few streets over, you can walk amongst gorgeous mansions with extensive gardens, under the shade of tall stately sycamores. There are gentle hills (and one not so gentle one) to give you a little cardio workout and the real estate is really a feast for the eyes! Getting AroundStreet parking is available and free. PARK ON THE LEFT side of the street. 1.5 blocks away there is a bus line that goes straight to downtown. Driving into the city is easy and fast. You can get to central downtown in 15 minutes. I can give you some parking pointers, too. Uber cars are also available and cost $10-$15 to go into town. Other Things to NoteBreakfast: I'm a busy working gal, so I can't cook breakfast for my guests. I generally invite my guests to partake of whatever eggs, baguette, toast, cereal, juice, and coffee I happen to have on hand. I'll inquire before you arrive if there are certain items you'd particularly like to have on hand for breakfast. I do have a Keurig machine, with caffeinated coffee, decaffeinated coffee, and tea pods, and a Nespresso espresso/cappuccino machine, also with caffeinated and decaffeinated pods.
