The SpaceThe house is a classic southern 1940s bungalow, which I love, but my tastes also run towards the colorful and bohemian, and the result is a relaxing, no- fuss living space that is pleasing to the eyes and the senses. There are 3 bdrms, two medium sized with double beds and a shared full bath with tub and shower (in hallway between the bdrms) and one 17 x 22 ft room with private bath. All rooms have hwd floors, lots of windows and light. Guest AccessGuests may relax in living room, sit on the rocking-chair porch, cook a meal in the small but complete kitchen, with large refrigerator and washer and dryer. There are two covered garages (no doors) but you are welcome to bring your bikes, backpacks, etc into the house. In season, you can pick your own tomatoes from the quarter-acre garden. In the fall you can pick pecans and black walnuts from the yard. Central air and heat. Ceiling fans. Lots of windows, and they open!! In spring of 2017, I will be taking a year-long road trip and will be listing the entire house full time on Airbnb, so keep me in mind! Thanks. Interaction with GuestsI am a writer and a traveler and I love hearing about places people have been or want to go. Music (I just realized the other day that a banjo and a sitar can sound a lot alike), movies, and visual art entertain me. The NeighborhoodThis is a middle class neighborhood in a small southern town. I grew up here and remember walking barefoot up the street popping tar bubbles on the way to the public pool in Peek's Park. It's a mix of homes, some small and simple, some a bit bigger and fancier. 100 percent safe. Getting AroundAlas, there is no public transportation, but everything that you would need is within walking or biking distance if you don't have a car. If you have a car, there is off street parking at the house. Bicycles can be stored inside. Other Things to NoteJust a block from residential area centered around College Street, where oaks form a canopy over the road. Only a block from Peek's Park, a shady central park with playground, walking paths, tennis courts, and play fountain. Walking distance to downtown and Hawkes' Polk County Museum, Big Springs, historic district, and to 27 which is main highway going north to Rome and south to Carrollton. 10 min to Cave Spring, 20 mins to Rome, 45 mins from Carrollton (UWG), about an hour from Atlanta.
