Close to the start of NSW Tourist Drives 2 and 8. 34km to the wonders of the Comboyne Plateau (at 700m altitude). 34km to the magnificence of Ellenborough Falls, the second longest (200m) single drop water fall in the southern hemisphere. Guest AccessCabin has kitchen, aircon, TV/DVD/CD and free wifi access to internet. Double bed in separate bedroom; bunk beds in living area. Ample car and trailer parking. We can also accommodate horses and larger animals for short stays, usually at no extra charge. RV/camping sites from $15/night have shade, water, 5amp power, shower and toilet facilities. All have free wifi, pool, walking tracks, dams, barbeque facilities, meditation platform. Washing machine and clothes line is available for all guests. Pets are welcome but we may ask you to control their interaction with farm animals. Interaction with GuestsA continental self-serve breakfast is provided in the cabin. Evening meals can be ordered in advance from the menu in the cabin. Farm produce, including free range eggs, is available to buy when in season. We can recommend places to visit in the Manning and surrunds as requested. The NeighborhoodEasy driving distance to two of the largest areas of remaining Gondawana Rainforests in Australia. Other Things to NoteOur washing and drinking water comes from the clouds above us (and is stored in rainwater tanks) so we ask that guests use our water wisely. Bottled drinking water is provided in the fridge if you prefer that option.

      The SpaceWe are in the heart of the Manning Valley on the mid north coast of New South Wales. Its a lovely old house, (once a bank), built around 1910 which has been lovingly transformed to make two rooms for the B and B. Our guests love the decor - some say vintage chic and others say French provincial style. One of our hobbies is to collect and restore furniture..... We discount both rooms if you are staying more than one night. The Garden room is discounted to $175.00 per night from $195.00 and the Bank reduces from $220.00 to $195.00. Guest AccessWe live at the back of the house and the guests use the three rooms in the front. Our guests have access to a dining room with tea making facilities, a fridge and microwave and use of the front verandah. We have a parking area for guests at the front of the house (uncovered), and keys for each room so that guests can come and go as they please. Interaction with GuestsWe love interacting with our guests however we do respect their boundaries. Some like lots of space and others like a good chat! The NeighborhoodOur Bed and Breakfast is in the middle of Coopernook village in the heart of the Manning Valley. There are some really spectacular beaches Crowdy Head or Diamond Head to mention a couple. Inland there is Ellenborough Falls which has the second longest drop in the Southern Hemisphere. On the weekend the local ladies make great food for the visitors including home made pies, cakes, good coffee and more. Getting AroundIts a place where you need a car to get around. Other Things to NoteWe are 50klms from Port Macquarie and 20klms from Taree. There are several vineyards definitely worth a visit, especially Bago who have a wonderful Maze to walk before you tuck into a picnic in their grounds and sip their delicious wine. For the nature lovers, we are a short distance form Cattai Wetlands, complete with 170 different species of birds including black swans.

      The SpaceWe are situated in the heart of the Manning Valley, 20 klms from Taree and 50 kls from Port Macquarie. The Bed and Breakfast is a lovely old house, (once housing the Managers of a Bank of New South Wales). Our guest all comment on the decor which has been described as vintage chic or French Provencial. Guest AccessGuests have large rooms, each one with a bathroom, and one with a double ended cast iron bath. Tea and coffee making facilities are available for each room. Filtered water is always available and depending on your time of arrival all our guests are greeted with either afternoon tea or a drink and nibbles before they go out for dinner. There are good restaurants nearby or if you would rather stay in, Ken and Sal can make a special dinner for you which would be served in the guest dining room. Interaction with GuestsWe respect our guests privacy. Some like a good chat and others just appreciate our good service and would rather the interaction is minimal. The NeighborhoodFrom Coopernook you are surrounded with natural delights. There are the Cattai Wetlands for a good walk or a chance to see 170 different species of birds. In summer the sight of the lilies is amazing. Nearby is Crowdy Head and Crowdy National Park, swimming, walking, kangaroos, flannel flowers and fishing if that takes your fancy. Inland you can visit Ellenborough Falls which has the second longest in the southern hemisphere. You can walk to the bottom of the falls or just enjoy seeing the falls and have a coffee and cake or other delicacy made by the local ladies who are excellent cooks. The Manning Entertainment always has something happening as well as the Taree Art Gallery. Some of our guests have simply chosen to stay in if they need a good rest from a busy life. Getting AroundTo visit our Bed and Breakfast you definitely need a car to get around. Other Things to NoteThis is an area which is only just being discovered. Well worth a visit. Some choose to stay here on their way north or south especially if you are travelling from Sydney to Byron or Canberra to the Gold Coast. Some of our guests have chosen McGowans for their first wedding night, a birthday or an anniversay. Why not spoil yourselves!

Our place enjoys a scenic one-block walk to town via the stunning riverside footpath. Our place is homely, comfortable and decorated with a range of travel acquired adornments, art and antiques, in a modern spacious feel. Off-street parking. Double bedroom available, with built in robes. You have your own bathroom opposite your room. A second quiet private loungeroom (with fully closeable curtains for privacy) includes a double inner sprung fold out sofa, is available for an additional price at $30/pp/night. Please note, the apartment rooms are up a set of stairs, so this accommodation will not be suited to everybody. Check in is at 5.45 pm due to Work and travel commitments. Late arrivals are no problem. Check out 9am on weekdays, unless otherwise agreed at the time of booking and 10am on weekends. Free WiFi is available (please be sure to see the online 'House Manual', once you have booked - this will be the only place where you can get our WiFi password). Laundry & washing machine are available. A TV, DVD and fully equipped kitchen are also available for use. Guest AccessThe cottage sits in an apple orchard on half and acre along with Lavender Blue cottage. Parking is in the large circular driveway that divides the house from the cottages. Interaction with GuestsOur guests have total privacy. We live on a separate part of the property so are available if needed. The NeighborhoodThe country surroundings and friendly people Getting AroundNo public transport, although we ourselves would transfer people from the air port at Port Macquarie if needed or the train etc. Other Things to NoteThe village has a Bowls RSL club and a general store that is also the post office and bottle shop and has petrol. The Bowerbird is a café in the village. Also we have The Lutherie Cafe at the top of the village. In the village of Byabarra (15 mins drive) there is the new Byabarra Cafe/Bar/Bakery open . Nature reserves a short drive away.

Having a car will be more convenient for you but we can pick up from Taree Airport if required. The room is large enough to accommodate a porta-cot if you are travelling with a baby. (We also have a porta-cot if you need one - but please let us know in advance). Free wi-fi is available for guests to use. A clean, quiet, well kept home in the most beautiful part of Taree, just a stone's throw from the beautiful Manning River, and a quick stroll to the central CBD area. Guest AccessBreakfast is provided, however you are welcome to use our modern kitchen to heat food. Kettle, filtered water, tea & coffee are provided in your room for your convenience. Please feel free to use the shampoo, conditioner etc in the bathroom. We can provide a hairdryer - please ask if required. We don't have a TV in the bedroom, however, you can stream videos/movies on your iPad via our wifi. Alternatively, if you want to watch TV, please just ask! If you need a quiet space, you can choose to retreat to our lovely front sitting room to read/relax. We will always be happy to have a chat, and you are welcome join us in the main family/lounge room at any time. There is a second bathroom with a shower that our guests can use. You are welcome to use the outdoor space (suburban back yard), or front outdoor verandah. You are also welcome to use our laundry with washing machine and clothes dryer (or outdoor clothes line). Interaction with GuestsWe are a fairly laid back husband and wife who run our businesses from a large study in our home. Guests are free to come and go as they choose, but should be aware that one or both of us will generally be here the majority of the time. We love interacting with our AirBNB guests, however, respect our guests wishes in terms of interaction. In other words, we are happy to go with the flow... Also, if you're interested, we can provide lots of local tourist information about our lovely area, and recommend good restaurants and points of interest to visiting guests. Please also note that this is NOT a hotel... it's our home. As we are empty-nesters, we are in a position to provide an option to the standard hotel/motel room. Having used AirBNB ourselves during our travels, we both understand what it's like to stay in a private room, what works and what doesn't.             The SpaceFully restored, the cottage is over 100 years old and sits amidst gorgeous surrounding mountain and farmland views in a quiet rural setting. Many of our guests visit to disconnect and enjoy the quiet solitude of our valley. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The only things you need to bring are personal items, food and drinks. The kitchen includes a large fridge and freezer, microwave, stove, oven, cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment etc. In the lounge room there is a record player (yep!) with a selection of old records, and a small television with a DVD player. There is also a (very!) small portable stereo with an ipod dock. The lounge room also has a slow combustion fire place for winter nights and an airconditioner for summer. There is a gas BBQ on the back deck. All linen and towels are provided. The cottage consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge room, dining area, sun room, bathroom, laundry area, and two verandahs. There are beds for up to six guests. Bed 1 has one queen size bed. Bed 2 has one queen size bed. Bed 3 is smaller and has two single beds. The bathroom has a shower (no bath) and there is a laundry area with washing machine. Guest AccessKids and pets are all welcome at Flame Tree Cottage. The house yard is fully fenced and safe for dogs. The yard is very large and flat with plenty of space to park vehicles, a trailer or caravan. The house is not designed for the elderly with limited mobility, and does not have any disabled access. The access to the toilet and laundry area inside the house also has three steps. Interaction with GuestsGuests are left to themselves with the key ready upon arrival. If you should need us for anything we are only 10 minutes away, or you may notice one of us in the adjoining paddocks taking care of the animals. The NeighborhoodApproximately four hours drive from Sydney, located on the NSW Mid North Coast, the Manning Valley region is recognised as an area of spectacular natural beauty, secluded beaches and friendly country towns. Upper Lansdowne, located approximately 25 minutes north of Taree, is a hidden gem of the area. Stunning volcanic rock formations, rolling green country side and rugged rainforest valleys all surround the crystal clear upper reaches of the Lansdowne River. Upper Lansdowne village consists of a small public school (24 kids total), a church, a community hall, a phone box and 5 houses. There are no shops, cafes or facilities in Upper Lansdowne. The entire Upper Lansdowne area is home to approximately 500 people. We are a mix of tree changers, young families and long time farmers, with hobby farms and lifestyle properties situated among commercial dairy farms. The cottage is located on a dirt road which is nice to walk or ride along, and there are other quiet dirt roads nearby. There is a small, clear pebbly creek only a couple of minutes walk along the road. The nearest shops are 30 mins drive in Taree or Wingham. There are no shops in Upper Lansdowne. The nearest places to eat are in Taree (30 mins), Wingham (30 mins) or Harrington (40 mins). Getting AroundWe are located 30 minutes drive from Taree or Wingham on the NSW Mid North Coast. We are a 30 min drive off the highway. There are small sections of gravel road to get to the cottage. The cottage is located in a small, quiet valley and most attractions and services are at least a 30 minute drive away. There are spectacular lookouts in the nearby Coorabakh National Park, interest at the historic town of Wingham, or beaches at Crowdy Head and Harrington which are all approximately 30-40 mins drive away. Go to the Manning Valley tourism website for more information on the Manning Valley area. Plenty of parking is available on site. Other Things to NoteThere is no telephone in the cottage and only patchy mobile phone service is available. The TV is not connected to any television service and there is no internet connection available. The cottage will suit you if you want to disconnect from the world! Unless you want to drive 30 minutes (one way) to the nearest town you will need to bring all food and personal provisions with you as it is not so easy to just pop out to the shops! There is a small basket of toys at the cottage and a few childrens books. The house is heated with a combustion fireplace, reverse cycle air conditioner, and an electric heater in the main bedroom. There are no electric blankets in the cottage. The only sounds you will hear are the cows next door, birds, horses, chooks and the odd passing car. The perfect getaway from the city.

Amble down along a fresh creek to Newbys cave and if the day is warm you simply have to take yourself for a dip in the ever cool Waitui Falls. Some of the most amazing views over the Manning Valley and out to the coastline can be enjoyed here from both Newbys and Flat Rock lookouts. There is good fishing, plenty of opportunities for swimming, surfing and water activities and it is a particularly fruitful area for bird watching. Cattai Wetlands - 30mins Just off the Pacific Highway at Spring Hill Road lives Cattai Wetlands, open to the public from Friday to Monday and everyday of the school holidays. This wonderful and unique site is located 20 minutes north of Taree and is described as a hidden gem in our Valley. Cattai is a beautiful wetland that provides a sanctuary for over 100 species of birds, Kangaroos, Wallabies and regularly spotted goanna’s. Plenty of scenic day drives in the national parks and reserves, like Coorabakh NP, Wingham Brush or Cattai Wetlands, to beachside villages like Old Bar and Harrington, to tiny rural pockets like Moorland, to the still-rural town of Wingham or to the bigger centre of Taree, with its great Regional Art Gallery. We have a very accessable waterfall only minutes away and lookouts across valleys with breathtaking views. Beautiful beaches are only 30 minutes away and there are regular famers markets in the area. Waitui is a rural area, therefore the closest supermarket is about half an hour away.             The SpaceMy Country Cocoon is designed to be your relaxing de-stressing getaway. The cabin and surrounding property are strictly non-smoking. We're in a great location close to the highway yet surrounded by nature, birds, and wildlife. The cabin has great views from all windows and from the covered decks. It is a beautiful building set in a relaxing and inspiring environment. Unpack, relax, let your worries fall away. The space is very modern and beautifully decorated and is ideal for 1-2 people for a week or more. The living room has a comfortable pull out sofa bed making the cabin perfect for 4 for the weekend. The cabin has a TV, DVD player and an iPod dock for music or radio (the TV only has free to air channels but then again you're here to unplug and switch off!). The kitchenette has: a bar fridge, sink, microwave, kettle and toaster skillet for eggs, roasts etc. To get you started we supply tea, freshly ground coffee, long life milk, salt, pepper, olive oil. Perfect for those late night arrivals. A large BBQ is adjacent in the private garden, great for entertaining. Enjoy breakfast on the covered deck looking down the green green valley. The bedroom is airy and spacious with a queen bed and a wardrobe. We supply linen and towels. The bathroom will seriously impress! Pamper yourself in the oversized shower. We supply toiletries. We are gay friendly. Dogs are welcome: no more than 2 dogs and up to 10kg in size (we don't want to scare the wallabies!) Guest AccessThe cabin is yours to enjoy. It is away from the main house. You're free to roam the property and explore the forest, the creek, our native gardens, even the veggie patch (when it's buzzing!). Kendall is close by for a decent coffee at the famous Miss Nellies Cafe. Laurieton and its beaches are only 20 minutes drive away. Interaction with GuestsWhile you'll be left to your own devices one of the owners will likely be close at hand. And never more than a phone call away if you need us. During 17 Jun - 17 July the cabin will be managed by my neighbour Cathy. The NeighborhoodYou're close to Kendall and its cute cafe, craft stores and monthly farmers market. Otherwise you're out in the country surrounded by dairy and beef farms. You might go the whole day and not hear a car go by. Getting AroundKendall train station is 5 minutes away. 3 trains per day stop here on their way to/from Sydney and Brisbane. Port Macquarie and its airport are only 30 minutes away. Other Things to NoteIn the middle of summer when it storms the frogs will come out in force. If you love nature then this is perfect for you. If not then the musical notes may prove too much! When it's really really wet the local creek can flood us in for 24 hours. This may happen 1-2 times in late summer and it's perfect for kicking back and finally getting through that book you've been meaning to finish! Just make sure you stock up on red wine and chocolate. If you do need to get back to the highway you can take the 45 minute detour through the forest.
