We are 2 hrs from Santa Fe, Taos (river rafting, skiing in winter) and many Indian Pueblos to explore. HUNT the outback for big game and fish the lakes and rivers of Northern NM (several within 20-30 mins. away). There is abundant wildlife, fantastical scenery, Fall colors, winter wonderland for cross-country skiiing @ nearby Sargents Wildlife Park-2 mi. and wonderful mild Summer weather. Authentic New Mexican food is w/in walking distance, live music weekends @ the High Country-1 mi. (along with great food and spirits) and plain old fun at Foster's Saloon and Restaurant since 1881 (1 block from house). Or, take a stroll to Patsy's Ice Cream Shop for a delicious scoop of old-fashioned ice cream. Then take home a unique souvenir from one of the great small shops in the Village (many handmade directly from Chama or other nearby artisans. Relax on the porch or dock and enjoy sprawling views of 75 private acres of magnificent mountain valley. Visitors to the property enjoy frequent wildlife sightings including grazing elk and deer, coyotes, the occasional muskrat on the pond, hawks and various migratory birds. This cozy country home includes a fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher, comfortable family living room, kid's bedroom with 4 twin beds, 'guest' bedroom with queen bed and private bath, and master bedroom with walk-in closet and washer/dryer setup. The area is perfect for those wishing for a relaxing retreat to 'get away from it all' and adventurers alike. Local summer activities include swimming/floating on the pond, hiking, biking (bikes not provided), horseback riding, fishing, and day trips on the historic Cumbres and Toltec steam engine train. In the winter, enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and downhill skiing/snowboarding at the close-by Wolf Creek Ski Area.

        This is one gorgeous brand new log cabin. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms nestled in the pines in the popular Brazos area. Located off paved Hwy 512 very close to the Brazos river, El Vado, and Heron lakes. Fishing all your heart desires. A very short trip to the town of Chama. 2 hours to Taos, and Durango. This immaculate 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house features 2 queen beds, and one full size bed. The master bedroom is in the sleeping loft and features its own bathroom. The wrap around deck is the perfect place to relax, take a snooze, or read a book. Go for a walk in the neighborhood. You'll see plenty of wildlife including deer and maybe a raccoon or 2.The cleaning fee is included in the rate. For cable channels SLING TV is hooked up so you can watch ESPN, ESPN 2, CNN, DISNEY, and lots of extra channels. more info is located at VRBO The cabin is located south of Chama 10 miles in the beautiful Brazos Canyon, close to the Brazos River. The cabin is located in a subdivision, but it has the feels secluded and quite. The house is located on 1.5 acres and every evening you'll have deer in the front yard, and plenty of other wildlife. Also there's plenty of fishing in the area. You have the Brazos river, Chama river, Heron lake, and El Vado all within a short drive. You won't be disappointed. Just read the reviews.

Huge wrap-around decks make the best use of this tranquil riverfront estate. Tons of amenities, too, including satellite TV, 42 inch projection TV, bedroom TVs with DVD players and even a pool table. Enjoy the large porches. Stroll down the path to fish for trout in the Chama River.               The SpaceThe Bunkhouse is rustic and eco-friendly with a window to great views It is "glamorous camping" equipped with a portable sink, pumped water and a composting toilet. It has heating and nature's air conditioning. Although there is no shower in the bunkhouse, one is available for use in the main house. There are stairs leading to the bunkhouse. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends. There are pets on premises-Zia the Golden Retriever and two cats, Tiger and Gretchen.

Covered back deck provides a place to sit and relax, read, view wildlife, eat, and a place to kick back with friends & enjoy a glass of wine or beer. Also NEW flagstone fire pit area. Continental breakfast included. Coffee, sweeteners & creamers provided in kitchenette. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the kitchenette, covered back deck and NEW flagstone fire pit area. Guests may access the Sargent Wildlife Managment Area after July 4th. HUNTERS , who are paying guests, may access Sargent Wildlife Management Area with proper hunting permit. Guests may access orchard, hoop house, private pond, and other areas of 11.5 acres farm. Interaction with GuestsWe will have direct contact with our guests. The guest facilities are located on the hill near our home. My husband, Jerry, will provide guided hikes into the Sargeant Wildlife Management Area. Chama is located in the Chama Valley surrounded by mountains. The surrounding countryside looks like Colorado. Our location is west of Chama and overlooks the Village. We are bordered on two sides by the Sargent Elk Management Area. Pagosa Springs, CO is 49 miles to the north; Santa Fe and Taos are within 2 hrs driving time.               The SpaceWe will consider small pets. Please mention when booking. Our family has shared many memories in this home for the last ten years, every month of the year, winter and summer. We invite others to make their own memories, with a large deck, dining table that seats 8-10, plenty of bedrooms and views from every window. Whether you're looking for a tranquil getaway, a family reunion or a base for hunters, our home would ideally suit you. We are a family friendly environment, with a pack-n-play and many toys and games for young children. This home is well-equipped with everything you need for cooking and sleeping, but we want to be sure the following will work for you: - The layout of the home is that 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and the main living area is on the second story. The ground level contains 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. - There is no dishwasher and no washer and dryer. The nearest laundromat is in Chama. - There is not internet at the house. We usually use our Verizon hotspot, which has great coverage in the area. -The living room has a large 50" flatscreen TV with cable satellite and premium channels. There is also a 32" TV downstairs for DVDs. Guest AccessThis is not a shared space. It is a stand-alone home. Guests will have access to the entire home. Interaction with GuestsWe do not live on the property, but this has been our home away from home for over a decade and we are happy to answer questions and provide tips for local sights. The NeighborhoodChama is a quaint mountain village surrounded by forests and elk and deer habitat, making it an ideal base for outdoor adventure. Hunting, fishing, hiking, ATV rental, trail bike riding, horseback riding, river rafting, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are right outside your door. Don't miss the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Steam Train Excursions leave the Chama depot daily from Memorial Day to mid-October. In Summers visitors come from all over for the popular 4th of July fireworks display. In August, the town celebrates Chama Days with parades, music, sports and other festivities. Getting AroundYou'll need your own transportation but there's plenty of parking. We have a circular drive making access easy and parking for 5+ cars.

              The SpaceThis room is facing north. It has a beautiful view and a window that opens to let in the fresh air. There is a sofa bed and a twin bed, and a very nice bathroom with a shower. We supply a folding table and two chairs. Guest AccessGuests are invited to walk around the property and enjoy the natural surroundings. All the time being careful about the surroundings as there are wild animals that roam at will. Machinery and buildings are off limits. Interaction with GuestsNormally I meet with my guests when they arrive. I show them to their room and then encourage them to call us and ask if they are in need of anything during their stay. Normally there is at least one request from the average guest. I hardly ever see guests when they leave. The NeighborhoodIt is a quiet neighborhood. Located at the end of a street, not too much traffic comes through. This makes for easy access to walking back roads and trails in peace. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in Chama, aside from the famous train that carries people to see the beautiful changing colors of the autumn foliage. Other Things to NoteI need to clarify that one of the beds the double bed is a sofa couch, the other one is a single bed.

There you can enjoy reading, board games or jigsaw puzzles. And for those individuals who just can't free themselves from the media, there is also Direct TV available with HBO and NFL ticket. Interaction with GuestsJoe and or I will be there to welcome you to our home. After that, the place is yours. There are times we will be on the property, but not in the house. That way, if we can be of service, we will be available. We are "people persons" so we LOVE to meet new guests. The NeighborhoodWe are located on a closed, private road that is "off limits" to the public. Our home is close to the Brazos River and an abundance of beautiful views and scenery. Being in the center of more than 5 acres, our home is quiet and private. Getting AroundClose to the Village of Chama, our home is accessible via private vehicle. There is no public transportation in this rural area of northern New Mexico. Other Things to NoteWarm summers, cool autumns, cold, snowy winters and fresh crisp springs!               This spacious cabin is located in close proximity to El Vado and Heron Lakes. Mutliple families and kid friendly! Located approximately 25 minutes south of Chama this location is ideal for enjoying the lakes and the Chama region. Wildlife abundant, with deer, elk, turkey, and more. This 3200+ sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 3 bath, comfortably sleeps 10-12, with couches and air mattresses if more beds are needed. We bought this home as our family loves the area and all it offers in the region and outdoors close by. We want others to enjoy getting away to this beautiful area and have an affordable place to stay while they explore, relax, and have fun new family/friend adventures. This home has new appliances, outdoor grill, Jacuzzi hot tub/ play room with a Ping-Pong table. The master bedroom offers a king bed and futon. 2nd upstairs bdrm. has a queen bed. Lower rooms: one has queen and the other has one queen and a bunk bed with full size mattresses on top and bottom. Kitchen dining table expands and has chairs for 10. This spacious retreat is just off State Rd 512, within walking distance of the Brazos River and perfect for a quiet get-a-way, family gatherings, or as comfortable base for enjoying outdoor activities in the area. The unique double A frame home is fully furnished and has two living areas, a large master suite with king size bed and convertible couch, second master suite in the upper loft with 2 Queen size beds, a private Queen size bedroom with bath off second living area downstairs, and a bunk room with 5 twin beds.               This quaint, yes quaint lodge can sleep up to 18 comfortably, or it can be perfect for 2. One bedroom and one bath downstairs. Six bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs with nice living space upstairs as well. Lots of gorgeous views, and wildlife at your doorstep. This gated community property , is adjacent to lake Heron state park .Excellent fishing, hiking, rafting, sightseeing in your backyard in Willow Creek or lake Heron ! Far enough away, yes close enough for amenities and great restaurants 15 miles away. Enjoy views off the Brazzos Cliffs from the top deck or read a book on the wrap around porch! If its a big group gathering this is the place to get together.
