The SpaceThe Brown Room is a private bedroom on the 2nd story of the Historic Parsonage House. It contains hardwood floors, one full size bed, dresser,desk, 3 windows with curtains (one has screen), ceiling fan with light and closet with rods. Heater and A/C in window, box fan seasonal. 2 adults maximum allowed.
All profits go towards completing restoration of historic house so it's not perfect so don't complain about it later- cheap sleep. Thanks for considering. Church bells chime in the day on the hour. This area usually quiet after 6 pm. Woodsy park nearby. Some people walk the area for exercise after shops close for the day. Quiet time 10 pm- 8 am.
Historic Parsonage House is just 1 small walking block from Historic Downtown Chandler , Historic Rt.66. and Sheriff Bill Tilghman's house. Don't miss the BELCHER BASEBALL CAMP.
Historic house once a church Parsonage. (church across the street.) A family home for years. This is a 2 story, circa (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). You can see Rt.66 from the yard or Eastern windows!
Sheriff Bill Tilghman's house. He's buried in the local cemetery. I have the DVD about his story if you don't know it. "You Know My Name" starring Sam Elliot. The local Museum of Pioneer History has more information. His house is a private residence, but you can walk by on the sidewalk to admire it's pinkness. It's located on Silk Stocking Row.
Walk north to find the hidden (but a there is a sign) stairs that take you down through a wooded area to the edge of a Tilghman's Park. Once at the bottom, look up and North to see an old rock Military Fort building. I don't think it's open to the public either.
If you walk on the S/SE part of town, look for a TeePee made of metal and a mural.
Shop in charming downtown shops within 2 blocks. jewelry/Hallmark shop, Merle Norman cosmetics,western style clothing,local team items, Rt.66 Interpretive Museum, several thrift/resale shops, ATT store, Furniture store, historic movie house, hardware store, Insurance, Abstract Office, County Courthouse and lawyers offices, leather shop, heat and air place has bill pay kiosk, newspaper .U.S. Post Office, OSU extension office, several churches, Physician's Office, Banks ( FBC, Banc First), Pioneer History Museum, Giorgio's Pizzeria (owner's from Italy), gym and Boomerang (with free WIFI ) all within 2 walking blocks. FARMER"S MARKET ON WEEKENDS NEAR RODEO AREA.
Also in town: car dealerships and small lots, car wash, Atwoods, Wal-Mart with Deli, Williams Grocery ( newly remodeled), Dollar General, couple of beauty salons, library ( free internet), dentist, Taco Mayo, Sonic, Mexican, Chinese, McDonalds with WIFI, Subway, Gas stations( one has Deli), Ken's Pizza, Smoke Shop, storage, several churches, feed store, florist, greenhouse...
Local parks within walking distance. Wal-Mart with grocery at the edge of town within 3 miles approx. There are public bathrooms near in most stores and food establishments and library/parks. Getting AroundTrolley Transit available. Most places are within walking distance. !.5 block from Historic RT66 Downtown and Historic District Silk Stocking Row. See my guidebook for more information. 30 minutes to Oklahoma City Metro/ Edmond,45 minutes to Tulsa Metro via turnpike or longer via historic, scenic Rt.66. Other Things to NoteLock up when you sleep/ leave. Unplug everything unless in use. Pay attention to the weather. We now have earthquakes and tornadoes in this region. Be prepared. There will be a hot pot and instant oatmeal packets available or you can share with us. I like to cook biscuits, scones, pancakes, etc.
The shared downstairs living area has 2 chairs and a sofa/couch.
Living Room has A/C in WINDOW may be used but turned off when you leave the room. Shared 2nd story bathroom has toilet and sink. NO SHOWER OR TUB at this time. Check my other listings for more options.
Local grocery store and Wal-Mart has some gluten free food mixes available. There are 2 Whole Foods in the state. Tulsa and OKC.
Free parking lot adjacent to my yard. There are 2 laundry mats in town.There is also a dry cleaner in town.
