Piney Grove is located in the rural countryside 20 miles west of Williamsburg (30 minute drive) and 40 miles east of Richmond (60 minute drive). Minutes away you will find three choices for lunch and dinner - Courthouse Grille (in a restored country store), Charles City Tavern (in a restored farmhouse) and the Blue Heron Restaurant (overlooking the Chickahominy River) - We can gladly make reservations for you. Also nearby are Berkeley and Shirley Plantations which are open for house tours daily. Other plantations, such as Westover, North Bend and Edgewood are open for self-guided grounds tours.
A note about our cancellation policy: Piney Grove at Southall's Plantation is a small family owned and operated bed and breakfast with just five rooms. The 30-day cancellation provides that are rooms are reserved and will actually be enjoyed. If you cancel within 30 days of the reservation, and we are able to rebook the room, we will refund your payment, less the 10 percent handling fee applied to all cancellations. Unfortunately, from years of experience we found that cancellations made a week before or less, from the arrival date, were seldom rebooked, and we had turned away many travelers in the weeks prior.
