The SpacePlaza Midwood is by far the coolest place to be in this conservative city. NODA also has a lot going on and is very close by. Open minded people of all persuations call our area home and visitors are free to be themselves. The home itself is not over the top. It is humble and shabby-chic while tastefully true to the historic era. The yard is really lovely and fun if you enjoy big oak trees, plants, fountains, statuary and outdoor living. Master Bedroom and bath with private entrance in back of house. Closed off to rest of house. Very private. Small fridge/no kitchen or cooking. Perfect for shorter term stays. cable, WiFi, fire place, courtyard/patio, convenient parking, smoking outside only I live in front of house. I am very respectfull of your privacy while hospitable and friendly. I am tolerant, beer drinking, fun loving guy but, expect adult behavior from adults of any age so don't get crazy! Dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Big grocery store, other shops (see Guidebook) Several bus stops within walking distance. 2 miles to downtown access to blue line light rail running south to Pineville area. Buses run to uptown from several stops within walking distance. The city is 2 miles away. See the guidebook on Airbnb for all of our favorite local spots. Guest AccessThe room is very private in back of house with own entrance. It is blocked off from rest of house. Has own bath. There is a small refrigerator in room. No kitchen. Convenient parking in back close to entrance. Lots of outdoor seating to hang out in good weather. Before check in, you will receive a message about how to get into the room as I am not always at home or available during all check in times. Please READ the complete message for all instructions. You do not need to knock on the door here to check in. I would be happy to meet you during your stay but, it is not required to check in and make yourself at home. There is a locked door behind refrigerator that is to remain closed and locked at all times during your stay. It is not to be opened by anyone from either side for any reason. Interaction with GuestsI respect your privacy. You can really come and go as you please. The NeighborhoodPlaza Midwood is such a cool neighborhood. It is historic while eclectic and has a really great business district within walking distance. Lots of cool bars, restaurants and shops. Developed in 1915 as a streetcar suburb, Plaza Midwood featured large estates and a central Boulevard - The Plaza. During the Depression, Plaza Midwood underwent many phases, resulting in a diverse architectural heritage. The urban flight of the 1950s and 1960s left parts of the neighborhood on the brink of decline. By the mid-1970s Plaza Midwood residents began to group together to preserve their neighborhood. Today, we enjoy an established inner city neighborhood with historic designation that is complete with urban conveniences while our streets are safe and largely quiet. Dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Big grocery store, other shops (see Guidebook) Several bus stops within walking distance. 2 miles to downtown access to blue line light rail running south to Pineville area. Getting AroundBuses run to uptown from several stops within walking distance. The city is 2 miles away. There is a trolley on Hawthorne Ln that goes uptown. From there you can take the light rail Blue Line South to Pineville or North to University (UNCC) area. See the guidebook on Airbnb for all of my favorite local spots to eat, drink, shop and explore. Other Things to NoteThere is no separate control for heating and air in the room. A red recycling bin is available outside your door for glass, plastic, paper and cardboard. For longer stays or excess trash, there is a gray trash container on wheels in alley across from side entrance/gate. The green one is for excess recyclables I do not enter the room at all during your stay. Extra sheets & towels are provided for longer term reservations.

The SpaceWe're two young professionals who live in our first home with two playful dogs. The house has two main bedrooms (the guest room and our master) with queen-size beds and one remodeled bathroom. (We've had several groups of 2+ and never had any trouble sharing the bathroom.) If we are out of town during your stay, you're welcome to use our bedroom, too. Otherwise, we also have a pullout sofa, a loft bed, a couch and a loveseat, and a blowup mattress that you're welcome to use. In addition to the private bedroom, guests will have access to an updated kitchen, living area, TV and Apple TV, Netflix, wireless Internet, laundry area, and fenced-in backyard. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood with a small park down the street, but is also close enough to city nightlife. It is within walking distance to the Lynx light rail (a one-mile walk) and several nearby bus stops. Uber and Lyft, as well as taxi cabs, are other popular methods of transportation. Most local trips usually cost us only $5-12 during normal (not peak) hours. Rental cars also are available near the airport, which is only 15 minutes away. Parking is available in the driveway and along on the street. Guest AccessGuests will have access to an updated kitchen, shared bathroom, living areas, TV & Apple TV, wireless Internet, laundry area, and fenced-in backyard. Interaction with GuestsWe love to meet new people! However, if you're only looking for a cheap place to crash, please book elsewhere. Likewise, if you're looking for concierge service, there are plenty of hotels in town. We understand not everyone likes to socialize, but we do, and we prefer guests who realize this is our home (not a hotel) and treat it (and us) appropriately. The NeighborhoodLocated in a quiet neighborhood with a small park down the street, yet also close enough to city nightlife. Getting AroundWe're within walking distance to the Lynx light rail (1 mile) and several nearby bus stops. Uber and Lyft, as well as taxi cabs, are other popular methods of transportation. Rental cars also are available near the airport (CLT), which is only 15 minutes away. Parking is available in the driveway and along on the street. Other Things to NoteHablamos español. Panthers stadium (football) and Knights stadium (baseball) are nearby for sports enthusiasts. Interested in longterm pricing? Let us know! We will send you additional details, including a special lock combination for the front door keypad, as your trip nears.

The SpaceThis recently renovated bungalow is conveniently located to all uptown Charlotte attractions. Stadiums, great restaurants and museums, parks and the greenway are all within a short walk away. The Scott House is convenient to the trolley and busline. Charlotte is also home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte and its resident county are named in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city's founding. A second nickname derives from the American Revolutionary War, when British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was "a hornet's nest of rebellion," leading to the nickname The Hornet's Nest. .

The SpaceI love color and creativity, and my home is often my canvas to play. The environment inside the walls is clean, tasteful with a pop of color. Outside, you can rock on the porch under trees to enjoy the quaint quietness, or take a walk in the cozy, historic neighborhood with good vibes and flavors. My home is 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, an open living/dining room, kitchen, laundry room, and small fenced in back yard (usually have an organic garden, but things are cleared right now for the Winter). There is also plenty of shared front and side yard space. Your room has queen bed, closet, shared bath, secure wireless internet, TV (for movies only, no cable), some intriguing books, access to ironing board and laundry, extra toiletries to fill in where you might have left things at home. My dog, Bella is another resident of the home. Dogs of all sizes are welcome (she likes hosting her own kind). There are a number of parks within 1-3 miles to take your four-legged traveler, and the can explore the open space around the house. Bella can show them the ropes. Please Note: The reviews regarding other housemates and noise are from when I lived in Boulder, CO next to the CU campus with 11 housemates :) My place in Charlotte is quiet and just myself and my dog. Guest AccessGuest have full access to all parts of the house. There is no curfew. Interaction with GuestsI am here to help make your stay comfortable. I work out of the house and sometimes from home. I love giving tips on where to go and things to find what you need/want. Come and go as you please, and don't feel like you have to entertain me, and I don't want to get in the way of your plans. The NeighborhoodPlaza Midwood was recently listed on some news site to be the #1 neighborhood to live. You can find food that covers most ethnic varieties, price points, and ambiance. There is a grocery store and a Natural Food Store two blocks away. Yoga One, one of the top rated yoga studios (and I can get you a complimentary class) is two blocks. All this, and right next door to Uptown Charlotte (1-2 miles) for plays, clubs, business, dining, sports games. We are also a stones through from a hospital and a longer throw from another. Getting AroundCharlotte isn't a major public transportation city. We do have a train, but it runs down South Blvd to Uptown only. There are buses two blocks away on Central Ave that can take you to some key areas. Other Things to NoteI typically only rent out the one room that can accommodate up to 2 people. It is also possible to rent out my whole place while Bella and I are traveling. Basically, if you have questions or specific requests, send me a message with all the details and we can see what's possible. Oh, and I'm open to all types of travelers (women, men, couples, siblings, etc).

In addition to your private bed/bathroom, you are welcome to enjoy the 3D TV in the shared living room, use the balcony, bring friends, and have any of the foods and beverages in the kitchen area. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is clean, safe, and quiet. There is ample parking, and the apartment is within walking distance to the light-rail and Uptown Charlotte. Getting AroundThe apartment is very close (0.3 mi) to Charlotte's Light Rail station located on 7th Street, which connects Uptown to South End. Although several guests choose to walk into the city, including myself, for events and conventions, others use transportation services, such as Uber, which is a relatively affordable alternative. Also, if one desires to visit Charlotte's art district, it is very close, but I do recommend driving. Other Things to NoteThere is an additional cot for a third person. The SpaceAppealingly-angled second-story loft, in a modernistic home in Hickory Grove area of east Charlotte. A bedroom, bathroom, and balcony area make up the loft, a small yet creative living space which features a FULL BED (double bed) which cozily sleeps two, and a walk-in closet. Balcony overlooks living room and huge window view of lake. (NOTE: Loft doesn't allow much sound privacy as walls don't reach the ceiling). Guests share the downstairs kitchen, dining room and living room. Safe, quiet neighborhood ideal for a walk or run. The grassy back yard is visited by geese, deer, squirrels and rabbits — and borders two small lakes, home to water turtles and a great blue heron. Guests enjoy rising to a (distant) rooster's crows. The home is an artistic project seeing ongoing design renovations... It just gets more beautiful. Located off Harris Blvd., 9 minutes southeast of University (UNCC) area. 13 minutes from NoDa and Plaza Midwood. 15 minutes from uptown Charlotte. Coffee made each morning! The kitchen is yours to use (and space in the refrigerator/freezer), and you may sit and eat or work at the dining table. You can sit on the rear back patio (partially covered), which looks out toward the lake, and there's a firepit for use (when I'm there). WiFi internet. Available exercise equipment: free weights, pull-up bar, exercise balls, yoga mat. A stored air mattress is an extra sleeping option for a second (or third) person. I'm at home a lot, and share the kitchen and first floor. I'm sociable, but give guests the amount solitude they wish. On some occasions I've prepared for guests one of my kitchen specialties, including: tofu scramble, seasoned kale chips, fresh fruit smoothies, and fried green tomatoes. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and friendly, composed of mostly traditional ranch homes. There are lots of trees, and tiny lakes, including two behind my house. The airport is about 24 minutes away. There are bus stops within a mile of the home. Guest AccessThe kitchen is yours to use (and space in the refrigerator/freezer), and you may sit and eat or work at the dining table.
