The SpaceMy 100-year-old farmhouse sits along the side of a quiet country road. I have three large bedrooms. Each of them have a full or queen size bed. Two of the bedrooms also have a twin bed. I've got goose down duvets to keep you toasty on winter nights. Wool rugs will keep your toes warm. The sun porch fills with light and heat during the day. My heat pump takes the edge off the cold too. In the spring and fall, I open the windows and let the breeze gently blow through. In the summer, on the hottest days, I keep things cool with the whole house air conditioning. Each room features some original artwork from my days of being a painter and potter. The back of the house faces 80 acres of pasture, woods, and creek. I have a lovely herd of gentle cattle. The breed is British White. They rotate through the pasture, moving from one paddock to the next on a daily basis. The black porch offers beautiful views of the pasture. Lacking nearby city lights, I can see the Milky Way from my yard on clear nights. Guest AccessGuests have access to their bedroom, the bathrooms, the kitchen, the sunroom, and the livingroom. Interaction with GuestsI have a lot to share about regenerative agriculture. If you want to learn more about how to grow food sustainably, I will happily share my knowledge. I am also knowledgeable in traditional cooking like stock making, fermentation, and properly preparing nutrient dense foods. I healed myself from rheumatoid arthritis using traditional foods and will gladly divulge my secrets. I work from home, unless I'm traveling, which I do from time to time. Working from home let's me interact with guests as much or as little as they like. The NeighborhoodI love the quiet country life on my road. It takes five minutes to drive to Keysville where you can find a variety of restaurants, some shops, and a grocery store. Our town recently received a renovation grant to improve King Street (our Main Street). Thanks to the grant, my friends are fixing up an old warehouse, turning it into a restaurant called The Tea Room that will serve locally grown food. While their kitchen is still under renovation, they host live music nights with bring your own drinks and food. In addition, Farmville sits only 25 minutes down the road. With Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, you will find art, music, history, and good food there as well. I enjoy Saturday nights at Uptown Coffee where local bluegrass bands pluck and fiddle from 7-9 pm. Getting AroundKeysville is located right off of 360, which starts in Richmond as Hull Street. It's a straight shot from Richmond to Keysville. It's also directly south of Farmville (where Longwood University hosted the vice presidential debates.) Other Things to NoteI have grass fed beef and pasture raised pork available for sale to eat in my kitchen or take with you back home.
