Some of my guests prefer their privacy, others want company. A particular guest recently I hot it off immediately with and wished she could have stayed longer. This was a little blog she wrote about her stay; (website hidden)(phone number hidden)/where-you-say It's within walking distance to everything, no need to drive the car to town as it takes two minutes to walk to the shops and montpellier. The location is also quiet. There are buses to get to Gloucester etc however the cottage really is central to everything you might want to do in Cheltenham. There is also a main train station which serves direct lines from London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester and many other towns. Nearest airports are Birmingham international, Bristol and Cardiff. We also offer a completely FREE service for you to get around from a-b, if we are free and able to. We are not a TAXI service so this is a completely free ride if you need it. I have a small and very friendly dog who is malt free so is fine with people with dog allergies. Smoking is not permitted within the house. No smoking indoors, however there is a nice seating area in the garden designated for smoking. We can organise a " welcome" food hamper for your arrival, just let us know what you will need and it will be waiting for you. From the 10-16th of March the price of the room is higher than normal as I have to stay outside of the Cotswolds as the hotels/ rooms are all fully booked and very pricey. To cover my costs I have to raise the price for me to travel elsewhere and stay in a hotel myself and board my dog. However I try to keep prices reasonable to simply cover my overheads and not charge the silly prices that most accommodation establishments charge at this very busy time in Cheltenham. The holiday inn ( also near the racecourse ) is charging £450 a night. ( parking is extra) for a standard room on the same dates and lacks the privacy, charm and character of the cottage. Check in is strictly at 4pm unless by prior special arrangement. We have a pond so do not take children under the age of 5 years of age. Please note that our delightful local council have made our street residents parking only in the autumn of 2015, much to the dismay of the entire neighbourhood. This means that you may no longer park wherever you wish. At the top of Marle hill parade there is parking within the bay's for up to two hours at a time. Then free parking from 10pm until 8am every night. At all other times there is a NCP on monsoon avenue around the corner or an open car park next to Chapel Spa, a few minutes away. Guest AccessGuests can access all rooms including kitchen, living room, dining room, other bathrooms. and garden Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to socialise and love meeting new people. The Space** CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR STAYS - Minimum 5 night stay. ENGLAND BANK HOLIDAY WEEKENDS - Minimum 3 night stay. Discount of 14% will be automatically applied for stays of 7 nights or more ** The cottage is small but perfectly formed, in the heart of the Cotswolds. For those who love the outdoors there are miles and miles of walks straight from the front door. The cottage is decorated in a traditional english design, with beamed ceilings, a large inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove in the living room, and an AGA in the kitchen. There are two bedrooms: one with a king sized bed and one with two single beds. They share the large family bathroom with a bath and shower. For groups wanting to accommodate an additional person, ie. to sleep 5 people, the sofa (though not a sofa bed) is extremely comfortable (I say this from personal experience) and plenty of quilts are available. There is also a smart-TV complete with on-demand programs including iPlayer and Netflix, as well as free wifi. Out the back of the cottage is a large private garden which backs on to open fields. At the top of the garden there is a table and chairs and a permanent BBQ area, should the weather be nice. If you want to visit the rest of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham is a short 15 minute drive away, whilst the quaint, chocolate box villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold are all less than 30 minutes away. There are several amazing pubs and bars in the area - the local Kilkenny Inn is a short walk away and serves delicious food and local ales. For special occasions, Cheltenham has some of the best restaurants in the UK, including Lumiere and Purslane, or the trendy No.131 or The Tavern. Guest AccessThe whole house and garden will be available throughout your stay. Essential food and drink items such as milk, tea, coffee and bread will be waiting for you on arrival. Interaction with GuestsThe owners will be staying locally and can meet you on arrival if you wish. They will be available on phone or email throughout your stay. The NeighborhoodFoxcote is a small and peaceful village with less than 20 houses. Most of the houses are owned by the Estate, meaning the village is well looked after and there are thousands of acres for you to explore. The shop at the local petrol station is a 2 minute drive away and has a good selection of essential foods as well as wines and beers. The Co-operative in Charlton Kings is a 7 minute drive away for guests wanting a more extensive food and drink range. There are loads of great pubs within a 5-10 minute drive of the cottage. If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion or simply for a meal out, ask us for recommendations. Getting AroundA car is advised. Other Things to NoteMinimum two night stay at any time, except for during The Open and The Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse, where the property must be booked for the duration of the event. There is also a minimum 5 night stay over the Christmas and New Year period. English Bank Holiday weekends also require a minimum 3 night stay.
