Our fully furnished modern three bedroom, two bathrooom apartment in Chermside is perfect for holidays (short or long), business trips, and sabbaticals for visiting educators, medical practitioners, and other professionals. Best suited for 4 people (one couple and two singles) however 2 couples can be accommodated by converting the two singles into a king bed in Bedroom 3. Our apartment is spread over two floors. Our bedroom and bathroom are upstairs on level 8. On Level 7 we offer two bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom is ensuited to the queenbed room, while the twin share bedroom accesses this bathroom through another door. The beds are proper beds (not pullouts, foldups etc) good quality bed and base ensembles with latex pillows and cuddly duvets. We are Denise and Terry. This is our home apartment and we prefer to offer our place to fellow travellers and short term visitors to Brisbane. We provide the makings of a continental breakfast which you will prepare yourself. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar are available all day. You can use the various condiments in our pantry to prepare your other meals. The supermarket over the road is open 7 days a week.

The SpaceThe bedsit is 30 square metres, fully self contained with a kitchenette including two door refrigerator, microwave, electric frypan, electric kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, cooktop. All linen, eating and cooking utensils, hairdryer are provided. Iron and ironing board are included. There is a small collection of DVD's and books also Unlimited WiFi. Upon arrival you will find fresh linen and towels as well as complimentary bottle of wine, coffee and teas. The bedsit has its own entrance door and another door with access to laundry and rear of the house. There is a deck at the rear and clothes line. There is one large room for the bed, lounge and kitchenette, an ensuite, and an alcove with desk, suitable for luggage and possibly a sleeping area for a small child. A cot or mattress is available, we are grandparents so we have a pram and stroller which can be borrowed. We have had a couple with two young children stay for two weeks. There is off street parking via a separate driveway. A paved garden area with garden furniture is at the entrance door. Guest AccessGuests will have access to our laundry and large automatic washing machine. There is a large shady deck at the rear overlooking the pool. Guests are welcome to use our old bicycles. Interaction with GuestsWe live upstairs and will be happy to help out guests in any way that we can. An information booklet is provided of the local area and food outlets. John is trying to learn French and Spanish but is nowhere near fluent in either. The NeighborhoodGeebung is about 12 kms from the centre of the city. We are about 200 metres from the huge 7th Brigade Park with lots of concrete pathways for walking or cycling. Chermside Shopping Centre (the largest in Queensland) is a 2 minute drive or an easy walk through the park. We are about 20 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Prince Charles Hospital is about 5 minutes away. Getting AroundThere is a bus stop about 400 metres from the house for express service to the city, Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Southbank Cultural Centre precinct (20-25 minutes to Southbank). Chermside Shopping Centre is an easy walk and has a bus interchange. The Geebung Railway Station is about 15 minutes walk or a 3 minute drive. The station is on the main northern line, trains going south stop at Auchenflower Station for easy access to the Wesley Hospital. Pickup and dropoff from the airport can be arranged for a fee of $25 (Taxi fare is approx $40-$50) Other Things to NoteThis is a motorcycle friendly establishment.

Our house is a modern 2-storey with 5 bathrooms and 3 bathrooms, having been only recently completed construction in October 2013. We (my wife & I) have our own ensuite, leaving the other upstairs bathroom available for guests. The 3rd bathroom is downstairs and is ideal for a quick shower after a visit to the pool and/or spa, which is at the back of the house. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac, about 5 minutes from the nearest bus stop where there is a regular bus service to the city of Brisbane. We are also about 20 minutes walk to Westfield Chermside, but there is also a bus service to & from this shopping centre. As well as the swimming pool/spa, also available is unlimited download internet, provided as wireless or cabled to each room. Telephone calls within Australia are also available at no extra charge. The bedrooms all have new bedroom furniture, including bed/mattress and study desk. We also have a cat, Salem, she is quite old (16 years) and doesn’t like being ‘annoyed’.

The SpaceThis adorable little villa is located in a very peaceful complex and my place becomes your place to relax and unwind after playing tourist all day. Sorry though my place is not suitable for children and also no smoking. The bedroom has a queen size bed, desk, built-in-robes, remote control light and ceiling fan, security windows and blinds. The kitchen contains all the bells and whistles for you too cook and make feast in if you like or if you are happy to eat my cooking that is great to as I love to cook for others. There is only one toilet and the bathroom has a bath and a shower, so if you would like to soak in the tub with bubbles there is plenty of bubble bath. In the lounge,there is a large flat screen tv lounge with two recliner lounges so you can lay back, kick your feet up and watch a dvd or any program. There is also a lovely garden to wander around with your drink in hand or you can sit back under the pergola while having lunch or dinner. My place isn't huge but it is very homely, clean and quiet and is perfect singles, couples but sorry not suitable for children or pets. Guest AccessYou have access to the internet, kitchen, fridge, bathroom, tv and overall access to everything in the house. How ever my bedroom is off limits which I am sure you totally understand why. Interaction with GuestsI would like to interact with my guests initially as I want to make sure they feel welcomed to my home. I have travelled extensively myself and know my city well and love to share that with my visitors if they are interested. I would be keen to chat and here the experiences and where their off to next or what they hope to see here. After the initial introduction and welcoming they are free to come and go as they please. As I work full time and leave home early in the morning come home late in the afternoon so the place is left for them in private. If they are home at night I am happy to cook them a meal or on week-ends to do breakfast for all of us. I can leave that up to you. The NeighborhoodLove my neighbourhood and my neighbours as they were very welcoming when I first moved into my place. They keep a watch on me and my place and bring in my garbage bins every week which I really appreciate. I love the fact that I live so close to the big venues such as the Entertainment Centre used for concerts, shows and the really big events. Close by Chermside Shopping Centre which is a huge shopping centre that not only you can shop till you drop but it has bowling, cafes, restaurants, pub and the best part the movies all 10 min walk from house. I am surrounded by two large parks, Marchant Park and Lorikeet Park which are nice for a stroll and a five minute walk to get to and both have bicycle tracks. There is the RSL, Aqauatic Centre and Library all side by side and only 10min walk or 5min drive which is very handy indeed. My locations is in a prime location as it has five shopping centre with restaurants, coffee shops and pubs surrounding it. Not bad I say and love it. Getting AroundMy house is only 15-20 mins drive from the Airport and and only 12kms from the airport. You can also take the Air-train to Eagle Junction or Wooloowin Station for a few dollars, then I can pick you up from there as depending on arrival time. Once you walk out my front gate and walk no more than 150 m and reach the main road the bus stop is there which you will love, maximum a five minute walk. The bus is the 370 which is an express to Chermside which has the major bus inter-change or takes you to the city and the cultural centre which is very convenient. If you are wanting to go by train and have a car head north and the train station is at Zillmere which is only 10min drive or to Geebung which once again is the same amount of time to drive there. If you are coming from the airport then you need to head north either by driving or by bus. The Air-Train can take you to the city and then take a 333 which will take you to Chermside or any bus that will take you there or perhaps the 370 which drops you at the back of my house. If you are driving then head north or call me and I can give you directions unless of course you have a GPS. If you take a taxi it should cost approximately $40.00 to $50 but that is depending on what time you are traveling but can get shocked when it is more than that. There is a visitors parking bay very close to my front door and if that is taken there are always more in the complex nearby. Other Things to NoteI love Brisbane and even though I have travelled extensively and loved many cities and countries this home and love to show it off. I love the beaches and the theme parks we have in Sth East Qld are some of the best in the world and a lot of fun. The big attraction for Brisbane is Southbank which is located alongside the Brisbane River. This spot is amazing and not only tourist stay here for the day but so do all the locals including me and why wouldn't you. Southbank is the perfect spot to go for a swim, followed by ice-cream, lunch in any of the many cafes or restaurants or perhaps go to Max Brenner's chocolatier and do death by chocolate. While your there take the time to go the cultural centre and visit the museum, a live show perhaps or take yourself on the city cat and cruise up and down the Brisbane River. There is also the hop on hop off ferry as well. As I live close the tunnels or Gateway and that puts my place in a convenient spot to go to the Gold Coast or head north to Australia Zoo, Entertainment Centre or the Sunshine Coast Beaches like Bribie Island, Caloundra or Mooloolaba or even Noosa. I will encourage my guests to explore the wineries if that's what they like orperhaps the best is a day trip to Stradbroke Island, Morton Island or Tangalooma. If you would like to go camping I have the gear for you and a couple of fishing rods to use. There is the driving range nearby so if it is a hit of golf so you can practice your shots this location is perfect.

      The SpaceWe are a family in Wavell Heights in a large modern 2 storey house with 3 bedrooms available downstairs; the downstairs area has been recently renovated with a separate kitchen and bathroom/toilet/laundry with 2 large living areas and a relaxing garden at the rear. There are tiled floors for easy maintenance (except for carpet in the bedrooms), air-conditioning in two of the bedrooms and a modern bathroom. It is fully furnished, with a queen sized bed in one room and double beds in the other two rooms. The kitchen is equipped with an oven an stove top, microwave, fridge/freezer, and cooking/dining utensils etc. We're on a quiet street, but close to everything you could ask for: - Bus stops are about a hundred metres away; - Chermside Mall is about 5 mins away; - A quick drive to The Prince Charles Hospital; - Not far from Brisbane Airport; and - Close to ACU too. The main language in the house is English, but one of us speaks Cantonese too. CHECK-OUT Check out is at 10:00 AM unless otherwise negotiated. CHECK IN Check in normally takes place at 3pm or after on arrival day, although by prior arrangement you can usually arrive and leave your luggage at the apartment after 12:00 PM, whilst the cleaning cycle is being finished. If you need early check in you will need to book the night prior to ensure the apartment is available. **check in between 2pm and 7pm. late check in may be possible for additional charge but please advise before booking to confirm*** Keys are provided by myself (or a check in person on my behalf) by meeting you at the apartment at a pre arranged time. You will normally have the opportunity to be shown around and to ask questions at this time. We will let you know how to access the building, the pool, BBQ and gym area, parking if booked, and also show you where the linens/towels are kept. The bedding arrangements should be advised before check in; 4 singles or 2 kings, or 1 king with two singles. ELECTRICITY and GAS Included. Please be courteous with your usage. Please note that this is a large apartment and lights are expensive, so please turn off lights whenever possible to conserve energy. WATER Included – yes I PAY for Water. Brisbane and Australia have an extreme water shortage. We pay per litre for water. Please be respectful of myself and the environment and keep showers to a reasonable length and one per day per person. Extra persons You will be charged for any additional persons using the unit if you have not booked the unit for the exact number of persons staying in the unit. If you book the unit as 2 persons you will only have access to One bedroom. Please enquire if you need both bedrooms for 2 person as there is an addtional charge. This is a private home and not a commerical hotel or accommodation. It is self catering so you will be responsible for cleaning and supplies during your stay.
