The NeighborhoodWe searched many years to find the right piece of land to build our house on. This one won because of the uniquely private nature, the wonderful sweep of the land abutting state land and mountains, and the water, orchards and wildlife on the property. We are conveniently located halfway between Cooperstown and Cobleskill. Head in either direction for antiquing, Baseball fun, great meals, Howe Caverns or history! On the property, we have deer, wild heron, wild (URL HIDDEN) is a haven for animals, as we do not allow hunting. The ponds are stocked with Bass, and the fishing is fun! Every season has wonderful things to offer- In the summer- the hiking is great, the orchards are ripening, the fishing is rewarding, and the swimming in the spring- fed ponds is refreshing. In fall- the foliage is 360, as we are surrounded by state land, and the apples are ripe, the concord grapes abound, and the hiking is exhilarating. In Winter- renters love the solitude of the snow. the 1/2 mile drive is plowed, so no one gets snowed in, unless you want to be! we load in wood on the porch, and the wood stove keeps the house incredibly warm. In spring- everything is newborn, the brooks run heavy with melted snow, the trees are blooming, and the ponds come to life again! All year long- enjoy visiting organic farms in the area to buy produce, meats, cheeses....and enjoy the bounty of the region. Getting AroundThere are busses to Cobleskill, Amtrak to Albany, but mostly accessible by car. Other Things to NoteWe stock our house so it does not feel like a rental. The cupboards are well stocked, the bathroom is well stocked. we like it to feel like home! We provide linens and towels and paper goods etc.

The farm is surrounded by state land, so Fall Foliage is amazing. And apple picking is a perfect afternoon activity. Upstate NY is amazing in the fall- crisp, chiseled days and brisk, clear nights. Enjoy our fire pit on the back patio under the stars. Swimming in the spring-fed ponds in summer is so refreshing. The fishing in our ponds is wonderful. Our land glows at night with fireflies all July, and August brings nearby festivals, carnivals, and fairs all over the area. The driveway is plowed in the winter for easy access, and the sledding and snowmobiling are fantastic. The woodstove is the heat source and heats the whole house beautifully and easily. And there is plenty of wood to keep it cozy all day and all night. And the spring is a perfect time to come up- the brooks are babbling with melted snow, the acreage is turning green and starting to bloom, and the wild turkey, deer and heron abound! The house has great amenities- Wood burning stove, dishwasher, microwave, double oven, well stocked kitchen with all hand appliances, wrap around porch, deep tub, satellite TV, DVD player and movie library, WIFI DSL line, CD player, King bed in sleeping loft, washing machine, futon, books and toys, linens and towels. House comfortably sleeps 4-6 people. It is perfect for a family, a group of friends, or as a solo getaway from it all. The house is very kid-friendly, and well stocked with toys. We are on 70 acres of secluded farmland. There are no neighbors. We are also surrounded by state land, which makes it that much more wonderful! We watch storms roll in dramatically over the mountains, we watch the wildlife enjoy the land, we languish in the solitude of the area. But there is a wonderful array of things to do - hike the land, pick apples and berries, follow streams and logging roads, swim in the spring-fed ponds.......

Quick! NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR fall of 2016. As of September 16 4 weeks are already booked. Why on earth would you want to stay in a hotel when you can live in your own charming, historic home during your travel? Never stand on line waiting for a bathroom with 3 at Tuscarora. If interested in holding a wedding please tell us upon your initial inquiry. Elegant charm that makes you never want to leave the property but only a short drive to adventure on Otsego Lake and historic Cooperstown. Our 1869 Italianate Victorian (Tuscarora) is a hillside farm of 141 acres. We are 9 miles from Alice Bush Glimmerglass Opera, Otsego Lake and about a 15 minute drive to downtown Cooperstown. Located 1/2 mile outside Historic Cherry Valley you will enjoy the convenience of the short drive to Cooperstown, the Glimmerglass Opera, 4 different golf courses, antique shops and more. Walk less then 1/2 mile to Rose & Kettle restaurant for your first meal. There is always the possibility you will never want to leave the property. It was very hard to choose the right pictures of Tuscarora (supplied by previous guests) as they are all so appealing. This beautiful home has been restored over the last 10 years and has often been rented by guests attending the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Glimmerglass Opera or just vacationing in the area from all over the world. The 360 degree view allows you to see the Adirondacks while at the same time being able to look down the valley view known as the historic Lindsey Patent. Cherry Valley played a significant role in America's western migration so a visit to our village museum is suggested. Be sure to review all of the pictures and I am quite sure you will find nothing else like it to enjoy your visit to the Cooperstown area. I look forward to speaking with you so I can tell you more about the wonderful vacation you can have at less than 1/3 of the price of staying at a local hotel. Thank you, Greg Noonan Preservationist Keywords: Italianate Victorian
