The kitchen is fairly complete, with a refrigerator, coffee maker, tea kettle, utensils, dishes. You can also cook over a fire pit outside or inside on an antique wood cook stove, electric skillet, or hot plate.
There's a six foot claw foot tub outdoors which is filled with water and heated by a fire underneath...known thru time as a cannibal tub. There's a wonderful outdoor shower with on-demand hot water.
A box of fire wood per night is provided, and after that $5/box or you can bring it with you.
It's quiet and dark outside at night, with a great valley view. The whole place is quiet, clean, and very comfortable. Even though its open to the meadow, privacy prevails because of the landscaping and hilly terrain.
The sleeping cabin can accommodate up to five single beds or one king size bed. The kitchen cabin has a double futon. The outdoor covered lounge has two additional large bunks. All the beds have comfortable, real mattresses. Tents can be set up in the yard next to the cabins. Over one person, $30 per person with beds for about eight people. Tents can be set up in the yard. We have additional single bed frames with or without mattresses which can be moved around, even outside...
My largest group has been 14, which is about maximum. Kids under 12 and dogs are free.
This would be a fun place for a party. Just staying near the cabins with a book or visiting with friends is really relaxing. Or making music... Or a take-off point for hiking the mountain behind us where there are great flat land trails and high land trails.
With such comfy lodging, winter "camping" is really possible...for river runners, fisher folk, dog lovers, walkers...winter is fun...dramatic weather is fun.
This is also a great place for privacy for fewer or one person looking for some relaxation time. It's a good place to let the body rest and eat very basically. No temptations for miles. Guest AccessWifi is not available at the cabins, but is available 100 feet away, on the porch of the main house.
You have access to my garden--bring your own grains, meat, tofu and add our farm veggies. Even in the depths of winter there's something in the garden to eat... Through the winter, salad greens are growing in the greenhouse Come help us keep up with the free ranging chicken's gorgeous eggs...The basics are in the kitchen cabin....rice, oil, condiments, hot cereal, tea, coffee...
Doggies welcome...! No leash law--they can play and run, swim in the pond, and charge around on the trails.
Walk into the woods behind our place where we've made trails for easy walking down by the creek or more challenging trails up the hill to a overlook, great at sunset. Some of the trails are easy and some hard but all are well signed. The upland trails are a great workout and lead to some gorgeous views of the valley and Mt. St. Helen.
We have a great little pond to play on with floaties or kayaks.
There's wonderful river play very near by...fishing, sailing, kayaking, swimming, picnics. This is a great stop off place for long-distance cycling.
The sixth night of reservations by the same person is free, no need to be consecutive nights.
Wifi is available on our front porch. Interaction with GuestsWe live right near by and can help when needed. We'll be happy to help direct guests towards fun activities on the farm or nearby. We tend to stick to ourselves and give maximum privacy to guests. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is rural, quiet, undeveloped...Away from the city and suburbia, enveloped by nature. Just being at the cabins is great. Walking down our road is peaceful because it's a dead end road with little traffic. The trails are really nice. Along the trails and along the county road are blackberries and wild plums---our roadside has not been sprayed in about 43 yeas. This is a great place to be with yourself with fewer distractions. Getting AroundNo public transit...cars, bicycling, walking Other Things to NoteThe sixth reservation by the same person--that is the sixth night--is free. The reservation nights do not need to be consecutive.
