The SpaceTlazala B&B Campirano is a family-owned property. We are very happy welcoming people from around the world and making you feel at home. Our idea is to make the B&B an opportunity for the people visiting Mexico that want to spend some days off the big cities. You will enjoy a good example of Mexican countryside, while getting the opportunity to explore some natural forests that just a few people from the city know. We are sure that you will have a nice time during your stay and be able to relax, though you might get awake by the singing of some birds or the view of the sunrise!
LOCATION: 40 km outside Mexico City's northern limit, and 30 km from Toluca, on the slopes of the Cruces Mountain Chain. It is near the center of Tlazala, the main town of Isidro Fabela Municipality. We are surrounded by beautiful temperate forests and woods of pines, firs and oaks.
ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE: There are four main options to choose where to stay, from camping to the dorm, or to the newest wooden cabin. Here we present you the Old House, though you may search again in AirBnB for the new one as "Tlazala B&B Campirano: Cabaña Nueva" at www.airbnb.mx/rooms/(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). All the options have bathroom with shower. We provide free internet connection at the central garden area (not inside the cabins), so you can stay connected and share your thoughts and images of the place with your relatives and friends, while also detox a bit from being online permanently ;)
MEALS: A simple breakfast is included. It consists of some fruit, bread and a simple dish such as Mexican-style eggs or quesadillas, coffee or tea, butter and home-made jam. If you need more meals than the breakfast we can organise it for you under previous notice only. We can provide all the alternatives from the 100% vegetarians to 100% omnivorous! For an additional cost we offer you the grill at the central area of the garden.
OTHER SERVICES (additional cost): We have a temazcal (sauna, gas-powered) and an open jacuzzi that you will definitely enjoy! There is the chance to use the laundry machine as well. Firewood and coal available.
THINGS TO DO: There are many attractions and things to do while you stay in Tlazala B&B Campirano. From hiking in the beautiful forests and plains to panoramic views, to taste delicious trouts around the Iturbide dam, or even fishing there during the season. A bit farther you may want to visit the Otomi Ceremonial Center or buy carpets in Temoaya.

However, if you want to arrive at the beginning of the week, there is no problem at all! Whenever we are around we enjoy sharing breakfast or other meals together :) The NeighborhoodTlazala is a rural town surrounded by beautiful temperate forests of pines, firs and oaks. People is friendly and food is quite natural. This is a relaxed spot where you can relax an enjoy Nature!
Some practicalities: You will find small shops at walking distance where you can get groceries and supplies (notice they don't sell wine, but beer only). There is only one ATM at the municipal building in the town center, next to the church. Getting AroundDRIVING: From Mexico City take the superhighway 57D, go out at the exit marked as "Centro Ceremonial Otomí" to take the road number 3. Continue all the way for about 25 to 30 min until the detour to "Tlazala" on Road 4. You will pass through "Santa Anna Jilotzingo" town, the a university studies center called "Universidad Albert Einstein", then the "Refugio del Águila" and right after is "Tlazala" town. Continue through the town, pass the detour to "Presa Iturbide (Iturbide's dam)", and about 500m ahead take "Camelias" street (diagonal) on your right. Drive up until you see a stone arch on your left, and turn right by the stone pavement, up until you go across the white wall with a reddish gate and a bit garden. You have arrived!
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Though public transport is not one of a very good quality, and you probably be better talking in Spanish, there are several transportation options that can take you here. Leaving from El Toreo (Subway terminal station, blue line number 2), take a minibus towards "Santa María Mazatla" or "Santa Ana Jilotzingo", change there to another minibus towards "Tlazala" and "Nicolás Romero". Get off at "Sombra Verde" bus stop and walk up the hill, go across the stone arch and continue up by the stone pavement in front, until you reach the white house and the red fence. You have arrived!
Alternatively, from Tlalnepantla or Atizapán you can find minibuses that will go either directly or with a stop in Villa Nicolás Romero or in Santa Ana Jilotzingo, the trip should not take you more than 1.5 hrs. Other Things to NoteYou are very welcome to bring your dog! However, please consider that we have two lovely dogs living permanently at the property, and four other that travel with us from the city. They are all very friendly with people, though, they tend to need more time adjusting to other dogs. So, if you bring your dog, please be sure to introduce them slowly, by keeping him/her with you at the beginning. Please note that dogs are welcome to stay inside the house, but NOT on the beds. Thank you!
