The SpaceWe are thrilled to share ‘Amaluti’ with people who enjoy spending time in majestic surroundings. It is unique; a tasteful blend of five star luxury, comfort, elegant décor, space, colour and glorious views to the Maluti Mountains. Its special ambience is both peaceful and relaxing. The open plan design and frameless glass walls enhance the spectacular views and bring the outside in. It is cool in summer, warm in winter and has friendly helpful staff. Situated in the secure Clarens Golf Estate Amaluti is a three drive from Gauteng, Durban or Bloemfontein and the ideal place to spend a few days on your travels round South Africa. The accommodation consists of four double en suite bedrooms; two upstairs and two down, each with its own colour scheme. The rooms have either king-size double beds or twin beds. All have luxurious linen, superbly comfortable mattresses, masses of soft pillows, down duvets, electric blankets and under-floor heating to ensure a good night’s rest in even the coldest weather. The bathrooms, ‘open plan’ behind the bedrooms, have luxury fittings, a glass shower, a floating basin and matching ‘Perfekt’ bath, Beautiful Earth toiletries, luxurious cotton bath sheets and twin dressing gowns. Upstairs the ‘Loft’ can sleep two adults or four children. It has two three quarter beds, a double ‘sofa bed’, its own TV and shower with basin with toilet. The upstairs living area has one seating area around the gas fireplace and TV (DSTV + PVR), and another in front of the folding glass wall providing spectacular, uninterrupted views.  Downstairs the living area has a mini kitchen, two sofas, a second TV (DSTV + PVR) and another lovely folding glass wall opening into the garden. The open plan kitchen on the Upper level is spacious and fitted with all that a chef could want, including gas hob, electric oven, microwave, a wine chiller, deep freeze and fridge, dishwasher and H2O water filter. The serving counter gives ready access to the dining table that can seat twelve. Adjacent is the Bar unit. Outside the wisteria covered patio has verandah furniture and a gas braai for the lovely warm summer days. The whole house has under floor heating, gas fires and extra oil heaters for those chilly winter nights. Guest AccessThis self catering accommodation is just for you. It sleeps a maximum of 10 adults and can be leased in different ways: The whole house, sleeping up to 10 adults (or 8 adults and 4 children) The upper level sleeping up to 6 adults (or 4 adults and 4 children) The lower level sleeping up to 4 adults There is a double garage and covered parking, for four cars. Amaluti is serviced daily by helpful and efficient Anna Mlangeni or Siena Mokoena who clean, wash up and make beds but do not cook. Interaction with GuestsAs we do not live nearby, our house is managed by Gavin Northcote and Dolores Moeti who live in Clarens. And our Housekeeper Anna Mhlangeni will look after you every day. It is charming and friendly with exciting places to visit and things to do. There is something to please everyone; Situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains, the spectacular sandstone scenery in and around the Golden Gate National Park is only 20 kms down the road. An excellent Golf course and a wide range of Historic Explorations and Outdoor activities which include Fossil sites, a Dinosaur trail, Hiking, Biking, Fishing, Horse Riding, White Water Rafting and Quad Bike Trails to name a few. The village has Old World charm, a village square with sandstone buildings, a Home Brewery, numerous interesting Curio and Craft shops, first class Art galleries and many good Restaurants. As well as delicious fresh cherries straight off the trees in November! Getting AroundThere is NO public transport so a car is essential. On site undercover parking is available for four cars Other Things to NoteThe charge of $350 per night for the house (during off peak) allows for 6 guests.       The Nelsbells Cottage offers self-catering accommodation in a rustic victorian-style cottage located within walking distance from the heart of the small village of Clarens. The main house comfortably accommodates 6 guests in 3 bedrooms located upstairs. The first bedroom with a queen bed, leads out on to a wrap-around balcony. The second bedroom with a double bed and the third bedroom with two single beds. The open-plan living area is comprised of a comfortable lounge with a fireplace for those winter evenings, and a cosy reading corner which leads out on to the wrap-around verandah. The kitchen is equipped with a kettle, fridge, gas stove, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, cutlery and crockery. There are two bathrooms in the main house, the first situated downstairs with a bath and toilet and the second situated upstairs with a shower and toilet. A DSTV premium bouquet package is available and a DVD player is provided for guests as well as secure parking. There is a portable braai for guests to use and all beds have electric blankets. Bethlehem is situated in the Eastern Free State with magnificent Sandstone mountains, beautiful valleys with corn fields, apple and cherry orchards and lovely views of the Drakensberg and Maluti mountains in Lesotho. This setting is excellent for hiking, fresh water fishing and bird viewing. White water rafting very popular and all of this within a half an hour's drive from the establishment. Two lovely golf courses in Bethlehem and Clarens. Game viewing also just a half an hour away. Good restaurants in town to end your day with some good food.

The NeighborhoodThe village of Clarens is situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in close proximity to the Golden Gate National Park and the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. The tranquil village ambience combined with excellent restaurants, scenic views and wide range of activities - makes for an ideal getaway for city dwellers and tourists alike. The Clarens Brewery is a great place to soak up the village atmosphere while sipping back on a locally brewed lager, ale or cider. Getting AroundIt is a 15 min walk to the village centre, a 5 min walk to the local coffee house/restaurant, and for those golf enthusiasts, you can be parking your car at the picturesque 18-hole Clarens Golf Course within 3 minutes after leaving the lodge. Although Clarens is easily walkable, a car is highly recommended.

                The SpaceThe Nelsbells Cottage offers self-catering accommodation in a rustic victorian-style cottage located within walking distance from the heart of the small village of Clarens. The main house comfortably accommodates 6 guests in 3 bedrooms located upstairs. The first bedroom with a queen bed, leads out on to a wrap-around balcony. The second bedroom with a double bed and the third bedroom with two single beds. The open-plan living area is comprised of a comfortable lounge with a fireplace for those winter evenings, and a cosy reading corner which leads out on to the wrap-around verandah. The kitchen is equipped with a kettle, fridge, gas stove, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, cutlery and crockery. There are two bathrooms in the main house, the first situated downstairs with a bath and toilet and the second situated upstairs with a shower and toilet. A DSTV premium bouquet package is available and a DVD player is provided for guests as well as secure parking. There is a portable braai for guests to use and all beds have electric blankets. Additional to the house guests have access to the garden flat. The garden flat has a queen bed comfortably accommodating 2 adults, tea- and coffee-making facilities, small minibar fridge, shower and toilet. The village of Clarens has become known as the 'Jewel of the Free State', attracting artists, photographers and nature lovers. The town is known for the many Art and Craft shops, offering a wide range of curios and original artwork, the sandstone buildings add to the picturesque atmosphere of the village. Clarens has become the ideal getaway for city dwellers from Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, and Durban, as these cities are all approximately 300 kilometres away.
