The SpaceSmall but very charming log cabin on dirt road deep in the woods,in the mountains, sitting on 15 acres with state land next to it and only 3 other cabins on that road in the humble but naturally beautiful town of Claryville with breathtaking views of the surrounding Catskill Mountains and the crystal clear Neversink River that rushes through the valley! The two story cabin features a living room, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor and a sleeping loft on the second floor. The sun lit cabin with the rich color of the logs and the cathedral ceiling truly feels like nature itself that surrounds it! The basement gives extra storage space if needed for bikes or other small items. The cabin sits on 20 acres of land, mostly woods and approximately 2 acres clearing of soft lawn, great for outdoor activities. It is situated in the"Forever Wild" Catskill Park Forest Preserve, in the NYC watershed in the forev(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) acres NY state land preserve. Lots Hiking trails like Giant Ledge ,Slide Mountain, Bisquit Brook, and Denning Trail. There is a lot of wild life including bears, coyotes and porcupines and many others... The center of town is approximately 3-4 mins drive where great pizza, a variety of home made soups, sandwiches and other tasty delicacies, liquor and beverages and free wifi are available from morning to late afternoon daily! For those who love to make a fire and cook outside, the stone outdoor fire place at the cabin will be a lot of fun! Plenty of hiking trails and swimming holes in the area like Giant Ledge, Woodland Valley and Slide Mountain just to mention a few. There is a hiking trail behind our road Moore hill trail/Dening Road trail that goes to Red Hill fire Tower. Biscuit Brook great swimming hole, Blue Hole and Neversink Fishing about 2 miles from us. A snow mobile trail too for bikes which is right behind us on Barnes road. The nearest swimming hole is approximately 5 mins drive in the pristine Neversink River which is also great for fishing! The nearby YMCA is offering horse riding for kids and other great activities. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables are available at the nearby farms within a few mins drive from the cabin! We decided to keep the Cabin and the forest that surrounds it full of nature,s beauty without it being too manicured. To feel and breath a little bit of nature away from the hectic city, away from phone and internet and tv. A time to reflect look at a butterfly, sky, the fire, fireflies, bears and all the wonders of life and nature . We decided to keep the house small and the nature as nature should be so one can feel how it was to be in nature. This is a great place for people who like to hike, be with nature and get away from your cellphones a time to reflect. Have a great time. When it get colder people must know how to use a wood stove. Its a beautiful place, with lots of hiking and streams. Its the watershed so its pretty protected. Lots of wild life including bears, coyotes, porqupines. Its secluded. We planted Native wild flowers, it attracts many butterfiles and humming birds and bees so please dont pick its for everyone to enjoy and look at including the bees.. We also planted a cherry tree and apple tree so when they grow bigger you can pick some cherries. There is a ton of blueberries on property so pick away. Our plan is eventually to have a garden where you can take some veggies. Get a feel for small and sustainable living it is our future. No only by car that is what makes it nice. Also there is only one place close by to get sandwiches…Phoenicia is the closest place for restaurants about 40 min away One can use the bathtub in the cabin…we just found the shower didn't work very well… but one can take a hot bath after a long hike...also remember it is the country, there are lots of insects up there and when its colder they seem to like to hide in the window sill ...just open windows and let them fly out... Also if you have a dog...remember to keep him either on long leash or close by ,it is the country where there are bears, snakes and porcupines. I don't think it is good just to let them run around 100 feet ahead of you best on long leash and be careful of the ferns too. Its kind of rocky and hilly , so take care when you walk . Walk safely. No big fires in the fire pit. It will alert the own and it is not safe. There is a strong DEP presence here. They are careful because it is the watershed area and lots of protected wild land. Interaction with GuestsYou can call, text email me anytime. Getting AroundNo only by car that is what makes it nice. Also there is only one place close by to get sandwiches…Phoenicia is the closest place for restaurants about 40 min away Other Things to NoteThere is alot of wild (URL HIDDEN) if you have a dog he must not be a chaser of chip monks or rabits. There is a family of rabits and wild turkeys who live on property. I dont want them injured. Please dont allow your dog to dig at all. And be aware there are bears close by. It is best to keep your dog on leash on property....there is also a porcupine close by....

Woodlands, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is a great escape from the city, specializing in that all-too-elusive peace and quiet, with enough space to socialize with friends and family in a dramatic mountainside setting. Hands-on owners renovated the home with an emphasis on light - lots of windows! But the house retains privacy, set as it is on a quiet, dead-end lane. In spring, summer and fall the roomy wraparound deck is the center of activity...and of tranquility, whichever is your thing. And then, of course, there are wonderful barbecues culminating with chats by the fire pit continuing on into the night. Children will revel in the adorable “Children’s House”, a playhouse scaled to kids’ size, complete with furniture and loft. Perched on an incline, you can gaze out into the lush woods, listen to birds, perhaps the relaxing sound of the seasonal stream that runs alongside the house, or sometimes hear only the rustling of the leaves. There is a TV, but only for watching video tapes/DVDs (you’d rather be hiking anyway, right?). And there are loads of games if the weather doesn’t cooperate. The master bedroom is downstairs, just off the kitchen, and has its own entrance to the downstairs bathroom. Upstairs are two small bedrooms accessible by spiral staircase, but it should be noted that the ceiling slants and therefore full standing area is limited at the sides of the rooms. There are full beds in each of those bedrooms. Claryville is a cozy mountainside hamlet that is home to a vibrant yet private second home community. The cabin is perfectly located with nearby access to the local swimming hole and great trailheads, like Slide Mountain.

White House, having been recently refurbished, is part of a large estate, which encompasses a working organic farm (tours are available with prior notice). This home is a great base for exploring the unspoiled area, or for creating memories on the grounds at home. Downstairs, the home features a generous living room with gas stove, and a spacious country kitchen that opens to the dining area. There is a full bathroom (with walk-in shower) on this level. The four bedrooms are upstairs off a central landing. Two feature queen beds (each could be considered the master), there is a full bedroom, and a smaller bedroom with one twin. Upstairs the bathroom includes a tub/shower. The Neversink River, home to spritely native brook trout, runs through the expansive property, and barring a drought, has a swimming hole that is sure to refresh. You will be drawn to it if for no other reason than to watch the changing light on the tumbling waters. In 2010, a local couple launched Neversink Farm, an organic farm producing vegetables, honey, a huge swath of cut flowers, and chickens (fresh eggs, anyone?) in the fields behind the barn. The farmers are delighted to give tours of their operation, but please note: renters are not permitted to wander the farm (for liability and safety reasons), without their presence. Learn more about the organic farm at www.neversinkfarm.com. There is a farm store on site which sells fresh organic produce grown on the premises and eggs from free range chickens raised organically. Next door up the road a bit (walking distance, but not too close), Halls Mills is another Red Cottage rental on the same estate, which sleeps 8. So larger groups or two families who would like to vacation together can find accommodation for 15 people max between them.

We put a lot of personal artsy detail into our cottage to make it special and we think you'll like it too. If you are arriving from the big city the first thought you'll have is that it's really peaceful and away from it all. And it is. Our property is unassuming and comfortable to anyone seeking a laid back, low key retreat. Our cottage is cozy, perfect for small families and couples and has an open flow for entertaining inside, leading out to a very relaxing screened in front porch. Each bedroom has comfortable sleeping accommodations, a queen sized bed in one and two comfy twin beds in the other. The living room has a pullout futon that is a mattress type- you'll sleep well on it if you decide to sleep by the fireplace. Outside you'll find a charcoal grill and shady seating while you grill. Just two miles away is a great river for swimming and picnicking. Fifteen miles away is the now famous Blue Hole and water falls. Bethel Woods is a thirty minute drive. Frost Valley YMCA is a short hop just ten minutes.
