The SpaceFrom the front, our house looks fairly unassuming, with a pretty front garden, and an easily-accessible driveway. But once you are inside, you will see that the house is really huge! Even the entrance lobby is a room in itself with an armchair. It used to be our piano room. There is a large utility room with loo/toilet and large washing machine and tumble drier. A lovely large lounge that opens out with French doors onto the deck and hot tub. The stairs are so easy to use, and open out onto the wide landing, with an armchair. The master bedroom is very big with vaulted ceiling and a SUPER KING SIZE BED, a balcony and its own en suite bathroom. Two more large bedrooms each with with 2 zip 'n link beds making up a SUPER KING SIZE BED. Then the 4th bedroom with a double bed. Then the 5th bedroom with King Size bed. All the bedrooms, and indeed all of the house is filled with light. A bright house. Downstairs there is a large Farmhouse-kitchen, with a long oak table where you can all eat together. Almost the whole of the far wall of the farmhouse kitchen opens out with folding sliding doors onto the massive deck, where you have a comfortable octagonal dining area, a wonderful sunken hot tub for 8 people comfortably, 3 wide steps to the huge lawn where you can play badminton, and small 'woodland areas' where kids can play hide 'n seek. There is also a very big log cabin (the Barn) with a mezzanine floor, and a pool table, full-size table tennis table and a rowing machine. In the far corner of the garden is a scaled-down version of an Australian Queenslander-style house (the Lodge), which is fully insulated. Eventually, it will become a self-contained Lodge. For now, it is an interesting place to enjoy looking at and from there you can view the whole garden. Guest AccessYou will be able to access the whole of the property, except for the loft, Lodge and store room. In the future, the Lodge will be available for holistic events like meditation and healing, and also massage. We also intend to create a sauna in the garden. Please remember that when you are there, the house is yours, so please keep some TLC for the house-plants? Thanks so much! We have done our best to make Fieldgate as guest-friendly as possible, but please remember that the huge deck is made of real timber, and that can be a little slippery when wet, so please look after yourselves..... Interaction with GuestsOne of us will always be available for you, should you need any help. Full contact details will be available. The NeighborhoodThe road outside is almost totally quiet, as it is a no through road, and parking is not allowed on this road. You don't need to think about parking, as the driveway can easily hold 8 normal cars. There are lovely Skyline walks all around the countryside that surrounds us, together with the famous American museum and Bath Golf course, both within walking distance. The garden is huge, and so quiet, surrounded by trees, making it a private retreat in a countryside setting, yet within 5 minutes to the town centre. The name of the house came from when all of this area was a huge farm, and the house gate was the gate to a field. That's why every year multitudes of wild flowers emerge all over the lawn. The total garden area is a quarter of an acre. Living here like being on holiday all the time! Getting AroundWe are literally right next door to the University of Bath. The bars and cafes and the sports village in the university with the big Swimming Pool and Gym are open to everyone. Or buses leave at the end of the road every 6 minutes to the centre of Bath, so you can leave your cars at home on the driveway. Bath is a shopper's Paradise! Other Things to NotePlease make sure that you do not park on the roadside as it is not allowed. But you will have your own very large private driveway, that will accommodate 8 cars at least. Please bring your slippers and remove your shoes on entering, because shoes are not to be worn in the house. Strictly no smoking anywhere on the property please, including the garden and outbuildings.

Other Things to NoteBreakfast is not included, but a continental breakfast can be provided on request at an extra charge of £6.00pp. Typically it will be muesli, croissant, toast, jams, yoghurt, fruit juice, fresh tea or coffee. This would need to be arranged prior to arrival. There maybe times during the afternoon where no-one will be in, but arrangements can be made if it coincides with your arrival. We are also happy to pick you up from the train station in Bradford on Avon or the National Express coach stop in Corsham. We have a lively dog, who is very friendly and likes to chase the birds around the garden. He does not have access to your rooms whilst you are staying, and never enters the bedroom space. Although we have said no to children, if you have a young baby we are happy to cater for them and there is plenty of space in the bedroom for a travel cot and other bits and pieces.
