The SpaceThis private suite is casual and cozy, with original hardwood floors and comfortable furnishings. The bedroom includes a queen bed and features a writing desk, tall window that opens to the summer flower garden, and access to the private bathroom. The sitting room features comfortable seating, a flat screen tv and gas fireplace for cool evenings. The private entrance porch includes a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Outdoors, end your day sitting by the firepit listening to the sounds of the forest, or begin your day with coffee and muffins in the flower garden. Watch the birdfeeders from a rocker on the front porch or hike in the woods or the quiet neighboring country road. Only a beautiful seven minutes' drive to west side shopping, dining and entertainment. Guest AccessGuests have a private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room. This includes a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffeemaker and coffee, but you may also bring your own snacks and beverages. We will provide a light morning breakfast treat, such as muffins or coffeecake, juice, and fruit. Our private living quarters will not be accessible from your suite, in order to keep our dogs from loving on you to the point of distraction. However, you may enjoy any of the outdoor living space that you choose. Please let us know if you would prefer to not interact with our dogs and we will keep them inside when you're out. Alas, the hot tub on the property is not available for guest use. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact with you as much, or as little, as you prefer. We will greet you upon your arrival, show you around, give you the house rules, and make sure you know where to find things and how to reach us. After that, we will follow your lead on how much interaction we have. We will be happy to sit on the porch and relax with you or give you suggestions for things you may want to do while in the area. However, if you prefer your privacy we will not be offended. In the morning we will leave a tray on your porch with a carafe of fresh-ground coffee and morning treats. On weekend mornings we may be found working on the property or we may already be out on the water or riding the open road! The NeighborhoodWe live in a beautiful area of Monroe County just outside of Bloomington. The area is heavily wooded but not secluded, so you have the advantages of a neighborhood with the peace and privacy of the country. We are only a seven minute drive from shopping, dining, and entertainment options, about fifteen minutes from campus and downtown. We love to enjoy a fun evening downtown, dinner, drinks, maybe a free concert or an I.U. Auditorium event, or a walk on the B-line Trail - and then come home to the peace and beauty of the country. Getting AroundYou will need to have a vehicle to get around (parking area provided). We are motorcycle-friendly, and can also make room for a boat if you plan on bringing one.
Other Things to NoteWe have three dogs, who live in our private home area with us. Two of them are rescues, and the third is a retired military dog that once served with our grandson. They are very friendly and love people. By separating our living area from the guest area we will keep them from bothering you. However, if you are outside they will likely want to say hello to you. If you don't want to interact with them, please let us know and we'll keep them confined.
