The SpacePalm Villa - Located on Palm Island in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Palm Villa is a comfortable, well-appointed 2-bedroom beach house on Palm Island in the heart of the Grenadines. An ideal vacation spot for families, friends and couples alike, Palm Villa is a haven for people who enjoy peace and tranquillity, natural beauty, stunning seascapes, sailing, snorkelling, diving, beach combing, walking, birds, wildlife, photography and meeting like-minded people from around the world. Palm Island is a highly regarded, privately owned resort located in the Grenadines, a chain of small islands that dot the Caribbean Sea between St.Vincent and Grenada. Palm Villa is one of a handful of privately owned beach houses on the island and it enjoys a remarkable oceanfront location with truly stunning views of the neighbouring islands and a superb beach literally right on the doorstep. Surrounded by coconut trees, Palm Villa is a true beach house - modestly furnished but clean and well appointed for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation that can offer all the simple pleasures of classic tropical indoor-outdoor living. Elizabeth, a very popular Housekeeper, will help make your stay both easily managed and memorable. Assistance can be provided with boat transfers and pre-ordering food and other supplies. The islands of the Grenadines in general, and the area around Palm Island in particular, are truly, spectacularly beautiful - one of the world's few remaining natural treasures. Palm is a tiny island (you can walk around it in about 30 minutes) but it is blessed with a number of spectacular beachfronts and some of the most idyllic swimming conditions to be found anywhere. Despite its modest proportions Palm Island has some interesting walking trails and hilly lookout points. It also offers a Mangrove Lake, with a diverse range of birds and other wildlife, notably the outstanding Caribbean Iguanas that live freely here as they are protected by sanctuary status. Palm is a resort island with a limited number of guest cottages. Villa guests do not automatically qualify for general use of the resort facilities but upon request can be accommodated at the Beach Bar & Restaurant, the Spa Salon and the Boutique; as well as using the resort's boat for transferring to and from Union Island. Union, which is the nearest island to Palm (a gentle15 minute boat ride away) is also the location of the airport, with regular flights to and from Barbados. Union has a small market, a number of shops, bars and restaurants, a bank and other general services. The Mail Boat and other ferries regularly arrive in Union from St.Vincent and can provide a good means of procuring food and beverage supplies, ordered directly via telephone, fax or internet. Nearby islands that can be reached easily by boat and are worthy of a visit include Mayreau, the remarkable Tobago Cays, Canouan, Petit St. Vincent (PSV) and Petit Martinique. Slightly further afield but still accessible by boat are Bequia and Mustique northwards towards St.Vincent; and Carriacou to the south towards Grenada.

The SpaceLIFE ABOARD .....Life aboard Malu isn’t dictated by the pressure of time, it doesn’t need a clock. Ultimately, life aboard is influenced by your aspirations and dreams. You are free from the stresses of the world, free to sail with us to a variety of destinations. We don’t arrive and put a tick on a map; done, been there! No, we enjoy beautiful destinations and savour the tranquillity of sun soaked days and exciting night life. THE BOAT & CREW .....Marc bought Malu in 2009 in Martinique; it was love at first sight. Since then Malu has been carefully restored and updated to turn her into our floating home. This boat is not a mass produced charter boat, but an individually build and designed steel vessel with character and charm. Malu is bespoke; lovingly built over a period of years in the Netherlands. Her hull is built from 5mm steel and her rig is of strong pine. For a boat of this size Malu offers a floating home with comfortable, spacious living space and a good quality of life. Malu is 11 metres long, has a weight of 15 tons. She will never win any races but amongst friends she is lovingly known as the ‘lounge boat.’ Over the years we have developed an intimate relationship with Malu and every day we develop a fresh appreciation of her qualities. Malu has space for 4 people; a comfortable guest cabin with its own hatch and a fan for a fresh breeze, plus the owner’s separate cabin. The guest cabin will accommodate two people as two single beds or one double bed. We provide your bed linen and on-board towels, but not beach towels. Malu has one shower/toilet room that is independent to either cabin. The crew: Marc and Ivonne, and their two dogs; Mango, a loving adult female, and Sugar, a male playful puppy. We work together as a team to cater for every aspect of your stay aboard and your adventure. THE CULTURE .....The people you will meet are part of the Caribbean culture of taking your time, of enjoying life’s rich natural abundance, of smiling and being greeted by those you meet. It is quite normal to be greeted with ‘Good morning, ‘ or ‘Good afternoon,’ when walking down a Caribbean island street. Soon you will realise the difference between that fast corporate, commercialised world and this Caribbean land that is dictated to by the natural world and the turn of the earth. OUR (URL HIDDEN) is simple; we don’t want to make you a promise we can’t keep! We live with our environment and hope that you want to share this approach to make your stay aboard Malu totally unforgettable. On-board Malu we try our very best to share with our guests what is good, fresh and in season in the Caribbean, and this includes the ‘catch of the day.’ We offer you a obligatory choice of either a full board menu which contains breakfast, lunch and dinner, offered with non-alcoholic drinks all day long for 80US$ per person/day or halfboard which would include breakfast and dinner for 50US$. Meals will be served at flexible times and based on mostly local incredients and your preferences and diet instructions. We also have a selection of additional snacks and alcoholic drinks, if you wish to purchase these. THE REGION .....We are excited to show you destinations that are away from the beaten track of most package tourists. You will begin your adventure on our home base island; the tri-island state of Grenada, West Indies, and continue along the Lesser Antilles and into the breathtakingly beautiful Grenadines and Tobago Cays. Which of these beautiful islands would be your dream destination? Tell us and we will try to fit this into our sailing plan for you. HARNESSING NATURE'S RESOURCES .....Malu and natures forces give us the freedom to sail and anchor where we choose whilst on-board we have a low carbon footprint and are energy self-sufficient. We use the winds and currents to travel to our new destinations whilst on-board we produce our own electrical energy. Our carbon footprint is minimal because we produce electricity via mono-crystalline solar panels and wind turbine generators, and have a battery bank of over 1000 amps. With the electricity we produce we are able to power; lights, fans, entertainment systems, modem, dive compressor and navigation systems. We produce our own water with an on-board water maker and, whenever possible, we collect pure rain water. All our drinking water goes through a filtration system. You are welcome to use our on-board, on-board Wi-Fi hotspot to email and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN).

CRAIGSTON CHAPEL. Craigston chapel was built in the 1930's , on the grounds of Craigston Great House….itself built in 1784….. to serve the Catholic community of the nearby village of Bogles. The story goes that the completed building was never consecrated, as plans changed, and over time the building was used as a store room and an animal pen….as a young boy growing up at Craigston I remember a flock of sheep being penned there at night and streaming out to pasture in the morning. Having lost the roof in a long forgotten hurricane, it was refurbished as a cottage in 1968, and has recently undergone another up-grade and modernization. The building has very thick stone walls……making for a cool interior…. in European Farmhouse style, and is essentially one room internally with a partition separating off the bedroom from the open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas. On each side of the building there are extensive verandas giving a choice of lounging space, either to avoid the sun as it moves overhead, or to catch the constant breezes on the Eastern side and the glorious sunsets over the Harbour on the Western side. . Although built in the Great House grounds, which comprise 10 acres of landscaped gardens and orchards, Craigston Chapel is far enough from the main house for it to be completely private, and, although accessed through the main gate, has its own side drive and parking. This is a very charming, very breezy, cottage, with all needed amenities including free WiFi and internet radio, and lovely views of the town and harbour. It is nestled against park-like mature trees on the Eastern side. The Chapel is cleaned weekly including a change of linen and towels. Beach towels are provided as well This cottage is ideal for a couple, but could accommodate one other adult or child on a roll away if desired. It is within easy walking distance of the main town of Hilsborough and several beaches. This is an ideal, historic and very affordable, location from which to explore and enjoy Carriacou. Craigston Chapel is located on the grounds of Craigston Great House but has its own secondary entrance and parking area and is quite hidden by foliage from the Great House. Being located close to the main road to Hillsborough and to the 2 beaches on the Craigston property, The Chapel allows one to manage without a vehicle if that is their wish. Buses do run irregularly on the main road and some guests enjoy walking.

“La Pagerie” is a French colonial style beachfront villa nestled in Hight North Nature Park, on the authentic island of Carriacou, the most southern isle of the Grenadines. The house is built on a half acre planted and flowered garden, above a secluded coral stone and sand beach. Coral reefs encircle a natural sandy pool and are home to many various species The most beautiful beach of Carriacou, Anse Laroche, is 15 minutes away by walking or 5 minutes away by motor boat. “La Pagerie” offers five en-suite bedrooms with their own bathrooms, Vanilla and Cinnamon on the ground floor, Nutmeg, Pepper and Ginger on the upper floor. In addition, one independent studio is equipped with two single beds and has its own bathroom on the basement level. The villa is actually ideally fit for a party of ten guests. Verandas all around the villa provide an agreable shade, and the tradewinds naturally temper the atmosphere at all times. A large sun and pool deck continues the spacious living room towards the sea, thirty feet under. “La Pagerie” beachfront luxury villa is located on the secluded and unspoiled island of Carriacou, the most southerly of the enchanted Grenadine archipelago, a true sailing paradise. The name of the island means ‘reef” in Indian: Carriacou is actually surrounded by coral reef, making it a great location for diving adventures (numerous wrecks to explore) or simply to snorkel a few feet away from the white sand beaches, circled by multitudes of tropical fish. And lobsters are never far! La Pagerie Estate is located within the protected North National Park (homing wild parrots), on the north-western side, featuring the nicest (and most secluded) beach on the island : pristine Anse La Roche, a few minutes by boat from la Pagerie, home for sea turtles. Another gorgeous sand beach, well named Paradise Beach, is 15 minutes by car south of la Pagerie, also on the Caribbean sea. Opposite to Paradise Beach is tiny and beautiful Sandy island, featuring three coconut trees that provide shade to an all times generous tropical sun. Carriacou is situated in the Eastern Caribbean, 12° north of the equator (therefore outside of the hurricane belt). The island is approximately 20 miles from Grenada and part of the tri-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The main village, Hilsborough, is located 5 minutes by car from "La Pagerie" and features groceries, a fish market (proposing fresh lobsters during the season), a gourmet shop and service (Patty's Deli on Main Street), and local art shops. Carriacou has its own small airport named Lauriston, unable to accommodate heavy bodied aircraft (which land on the neighboring island of Grenada), and is therefore closed to mass tourism, leaving the island for the “happy few”. Still Lauriston runway is just long enough to allow for business jets to land from all over the World. From Pointe Saline international airport (AOCI code GND) in Grenada, SVG Air offers daily service to Carriacou Lauriston airport. You may order your own charter flight with SVG Air through "La Pagerie" at a special discounted fare (at the time that you book your stay), allowing you to continue immediately to Carriacou (rather than stopping in Grenada for a night) as soon as your international flight has landed in Grenada.

It is a place of abundance, the numbers of rich rivers and lush fruit forests cannot be counted, and with white sandy beaches – one only dreams about. Yet, it is also a place so poor that many can starve for lack. Grenada is a constant contrast. Grenadian people and colorful culture are modern, well traveled, and worldly–much of this can be attributed to the rich cultural history, ethnic diversity and the variegated settlements amongst them. One cannot understand the present Grenada without understanding a bit of the past. Grenada is nearly the Southernmost State in the Caribbean chain – with Trinidad and Tobago being the lowest, closest to South America. Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, and Dominica are all part of an island grouping called the Windward Islands. All are categorized as the West Indies – Grenada lies 90 miles north of Venezuela. Between Grenada and St. Vincent are long chains of rocky islands called “the Grenadines”, a series of tiny outcroppings & cays – only a few of which are inhabited. Grenada itself, is not one land but many islands, Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique being the largest.

We hope that you will choose us for your discovery of Carriacou... we promise to do everything possible to give you an amazing holiday experience. Mapoo Villa is in a very private location, high on the hillside overlooking the village of Dover/ Windward and the large Windward lagoon created by a stretching coral reef. Behind the villa is a large wooded area including High North -- the highest "peak" in Carriacou. This makes the villa perfect for birdwatching and hiking. The song birds sing every morning to welcome the sun which rises over the neighbouring islands and the sea. They sing when you are enjoying your evening cocktails and dinner. The villages of Dover/Windward are located on the plains below the house and one can watch village life as well as the activity on the lagoon and the sparkling sea.
