The SpaceThe loft is cosy and welcoming. It is located on top of a garage. It has air conditioning and heating. While small it has all that will be needed by short stayers. No hot plates for cooking but do have toaster, kettle, microwave, small fridge, sink and condiments. Small desk available as well. A review mentioned a problem with a door sticking and wifi was down for a short period. A carpenter has corrected the door which was affected by change of weather. Wifi was due to a faulty modem which has been replaced and all is now working excellently. Any identified problem will be resolved at the earliest opportunity. Guest AccessGuests (one or double though small space for two people) will enter by back gate into the yard, which has garden furniture. Outside staircase to the loft. Clothes line in the yard is available for use. Continental breakfasts are available on request and payment of $8.00. Interaction with GuestsHost is a older woman who has many friends, family and neighbours visit. She is easy to get along with and helpful, as needed. She will be present in the house for much of time during the stay. The NeighborhoodThe streetscape is lovely with tall overhanging plane trees. The house is near a train track but trains are quiet. On the other side of the train track is a landscape creek that meanders all the way to the centre of the city of Melbourne with many attractions on the way. Shops, cafes and pub around the corner. Getting AroundThe train is only 400 metres from the front door, the bus 200 metres and the tram about 100 metres. All public transport is convenient into and away for the city. Cinema in walking distance. Other Things to NoteA lovely convenient place to live.

Getting AroundTransport is great, we have Trains, Trams & Buses all you need is a MYKI Card, I have extra cards with me to give, transport is just a few minutes walk to get you into the City. Also up the street there are Cafes, Restaurants, a Butcher, Supermarket, Chemist, Hair Dresser, Pub etc. also across the road from my house is an Indoor Swimming Pool & Gymnasium , it's great. The SpaceTop floor (level 2) single bedroom furnished flat with separate lounge, kitchen, bathroom, balcony and off-street parking. Comfortable queen bed with chiropractic/memory foam mattress, fitted with clean sheets. We use this unit as well. The lounge has a double sofa bed with a memory foam overlay, perfect if the kids go to bed early in the other room. There is also a single trundle bed which is fantastic for a child. The space is very child friendly (a port-a-cot, baby bath, and kids toys/books to make your stay more enjoyable available). Otherwise a clean space close to the Northside of the city (Smith, Brunswick, and Lygon Streets), perfect for a couple staying in Melbourne. We provide towels and bedlinen, some bathroom goods, and kitchen/cooking basics such as plates and cutlery for four, fridge, gas-oven, kettle, toaster, rice cooker, pots and pans and a selection of hot beverages. There is a television fitted with a DVD player. Located on a quiet park-side street, the flat has it's own off street parking space. If you are not driving, it is a short walk to Rushall Metro station for rail, or the Clifton Hill/Queens Parade interchange for tram and bus. The flat has a bike and helmet and is across the road from the Merri Creek bike trail and bushland. You have a choice of café lined Queens Parade, Clifton Hill or Westgarth shopping strip and cinema, Northcote. Collingwood Leisure Centre is close by for your indoor pool and gym needs. The NeighborhoodNext door to the apartment is the Terminus Hotel (URL HIDDEN) which has a dining room and Craft Bar with 16 beers on tap and a Beer Garden. Next door to the Terminus is the popular Mixed Business Café (URL HIDDEN) which is great for breakfast or lunch. Local Westgarth bars include Sagi, Kelvin and Bar Nancy located in the Westgarth shops with the Palace Westgarth Cinemas, all a short 5 minute walk from the apartment. Getting AroundIf you’re into walking or bike riding (bike included) Merri Creek is located opposite the apartment, which accesses the Capital City Trail on its shared bike/pedestrians path. Merri Creek joins the Yarra River at Dights Falls and if you continue down the track you can visit the Collingwood Children’s Farm which is part of the Abbotsford Convent complex. This is a great place for kids and adults to enjoy the farm animals and cafe and farmers markets on weekends. Towards the Clifton Hill shops on Queens Parade are a number of restaurants and cafes including Mosskito, Tutti I Sapori and Degani Bakery Café. The local Collingwood and Fitzroy areas are studded with art galleries, artists studios, cafes, restaurants and bars. A bus runs direct to the Melbourne Cricket Ground or a 15 minute drive depending on traffic. The 86 tram goes directly to Docklands near the Etihad stadium.

You have the Clifton Hill shopping village on your backdoor step with shops to meet your every need (check out the guidebook for just a few of the highly recommended places to frequent), and it's just a short stroll to the renowned Edinburgh Gardens, the child friendly Darling Gardens, and Merri Creek trail. Getting AroundThere is on street parking, and ample access to trams, trains, buses, and cycle paths. With just a 15 minute train ride to the CBD, 5 minutes to Smith, Gertrude, and Brunswick streets, and the iconic 86 tram line, the city is literally moments away. Downloading PTV and Tram Tracker apps before arriving is highly recommended. Taxis generally cost $50 - $60 from the airport. Alternately, you can catch the Skybus to Southern Cross station and then take your pick of either the train or the 86 tram to get here. You'll need a Myki to get around the city and these are available to purchase from the Airport, news agents, and major stations. Message me to find out if pick up from the airport is a possibility ($15 fee per person).

The NeighborhoodNorth Fitzroy is just 4km from the centre of Melbourne. It is surrounded by great cafes, restaurants and bars, as well as many public transport options. The iconic Brunswick Street is within easy walking distance. Getting AroundTram, train and bus stops are only a few metres away from you doorstep. The Number 86 tram (on Queens Parade) takes you to the city via Smith Street. The train which you can take at Clifton Hill station will take you to the city in less than 5 minutes. If you are coming by car, I have a car space at the back of the property which you can use. It is number 7 and can be accessed via a side alley. There is also no cost street parking available for two hours between 7am and 7pm on weekdays, otherwise it is unlimited.

We are in a small side street, very quiet at night. Getting AroundIt's a two minute walk to catch the 86 tram to the city (15 mins). Clifton Hill train station is a ten minute walk. Cycling is a great way to get around the area, with bicycle lanes on almost all surrounding roads. Other Things to NoteFree wi-fi. Free and unrestricted parking in the street. Consisting of a queen bedroom and a double bedroom, one modern bathroom with large shower, separate bath and in-built laundry and open living and dining space the house is perfect for a family or group of singles/couples. The study has a television and sofa. The space is well decorated with stylish modern furniture and comes complete with all modern amenities including heating. There is a back garden, side courtyard and the epicentral Edinburgh Gardens is not even 60m from the front door (see photos). Access into the city is an easy 25 min stroll via the eclectic Smith/Brunswick Streets, or there are 4 tram lines within walking distance. Tram to the city is approximately 15 minutes, however you are sure to see plenty along the way if you walk. A comfortable stay is guaranteed in this modern, clean and thoughtfully designed and decorated home, on one of the best streets in North Fitzroy, close to many of Melbourne's biggest delights. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the whole house, which includes the courtyard and back garden (which has a large Webber BBQ you are welcome to use). Guests are welcome to use the laundry, including front loader washer and the dryer. There is also an iron available for use. We often have spare MyKi cards for your use, which you can 'top up' at a nearby location and use on all public transport in Melbourne.     The SpaceOur home is a lovely double story Victorian terrace in a highly sought after location, facing Darling Gardens with lovely trees and playground. At the front of the house you will find an inviting entrance and formal living room plus adjoining formal dining room. There is a well-equipped rustic but new kitchen with Miele dishwasher and a European laundry with Miele washer and drier. There is also a delightful courtyard garden with BBQ and a lovely place to dine al fresco on those long summer evenings or long lunches. You are welcome to use any of the spices. Fresh bread from one of the bakeries is well worth a walk up to Queens Parade before breakfast. A coffee machine is in the kitchen and coffee pods will be provided. Features include beautiful polished timber floors, stunning open fireplaces, and the location could hardly be bettered, close to Queens Parade cafes and shopping within easy walking distance to tram and train transport, Collingwood Leisure Centre and the delightful Merri Creek environs for walking and biking. Our home is 10 minutes by train to the city or quicker if you catch an express. The city is in walking distance - about an hour if walking slowly. Vibrant Brunswick and Smith Streets with shops, cafes,bars and excellent restaurants are in walking distance and on route to the city. A Miki card is necessary to be able to use Melbourne Public Transport System. Free on street parking is available on opposite side of street. 2 lovely ginger cats are part of our family and they will be living at home whilst you are visiting. They are quite shy and you probably won't see them much,. Feding of cats will be arranged Many outlet shops are easily accessible and a free shuttle bus to Chadstone Shopping Centre runs from the city. The MCG and Tennis Centre are also in walking distance or easily accessed by train, great for the cricket and also the Australian Open. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.     The SpaceWell I guess it's an interesting place - the kind of really solid old place that just has a bit of charm to it. After visitors walk up the old wooden staircase and step into the living area I'm used to hearing them say something like 'Hey this place is really cool'. Guest AccessAccess is down and laneway at the rear of the property meaning it is tucked away and not a great place for getting pizza's delivered. The mail gets delivered no problems. The NeighborhoodSurrounded by shops and cafe's and a well curated convenience store. The kind of area where you can decide on what to do about dinner at the last minute. Cozy little bar just a few doors away with free live music 7 nights a week (website hidden) Oh and I'd love to show you the walk along the Merri Creek. It's a 40 minute nature loop with only one road crossing to break your flow. Fantastic gym and heated swimming pool is a four minute walk away. (website hidden) Getting AroundThe Route 86 tram stops right outside - just a few stops in either direction from my two favourite bohemian strips in Melbourne, High St., Northcote and Smith Street, Collingwood. Brunswick Street is close too. It's a 6 minute walk to Clifton Hill Station. Express train to the downtown city loop! Or you can ride a bike path almost all the way the Sydney Road, Brunswick. Other Things to NoteShowing a little courtesy to the people running the shop downstairs when entering the building is appreciated. They are very nice. Shared access is 24/7. Between the hours of about 5-10pm a fan can be heard running at the next door premises but my guests so far don't think it rates as a problem.
