The SpaceEasy access from Hwy 401 and minutes from Cobourg. Guests have use of pool and garden Century house that was originally the village Blacksmith's house in rural Ontario Guests have access to the pool and shaded garden seating in the summer. They may also enjoy comfortable chairs in the sun room. We enjoy interacting with our guests and often offer evening tea, coffee or other beverage in the living room. However, if you prefer a quiet stay, we would also accommodate that. The SpaceWEST ROOM is bright and spacious, with large windows on the West and North sides, it is furnished with an antique writing desk, two chairs, antique dresser with mirror, cedar chest, bedside tables with lamps, and a Queen Bed. (If two beds are required, and the North Room is booked, a rollaway bed can be placed in the same room for an extra fee per night.) Alternatively, the North Room can sleep 2 or 3 persons as it is furnished with a Double Bed and a Single Bed. BATHROOM is bright and airy with modern Tub/Shower, modern vanity sink with chair, and modern dual-flush toilet. It is shared only between the two guest rooms, so it is Private when only one of the rooms is booked or both rooms are booked by a family. By-the-Pond Bed & Breakfast is located in a Century Farmhouse on 1+ acres with a pond, in the rural countryside of Hamilton Township in Northumberland County, about 2 Km. East of Cobourg, Ontario, Canada and about 8km West of Grafton, Ontario. The B & B is on the Waterfront Trail between Toronto and Kingston, a well-marked Cycling route. Cobourg boasts a long wide sandy beach with lifeguards and snack-bar. A popular Day-Excursion is a Wine-Tasting Tour of the many well-established Vineyards with Estate Wineries, nearby in Northumberland County and farther-afield in Prince-Edward County. around Picton, Ontario. Other Things to NoteProperty is gardened and lawns are organically maintained and chemical-free. Only natural products are used for house cleaning and property maintenance. Water is from a spring-fed well and tested annually for drinking-water purity. Property is pet-free (dog & cat) and has been so for five years.

Breakfasts are served in the dining room at a prearranged time. The NeighborhoodAmherst House is located in a brand new very quaint neighbourhood on the west side of Cobourg. Homes are built in a cottage style with beautiful landscaping and streetscapes. We are centrally located to just about everything. Other Things to NoteWe are close to the waterfront trail and lovely beach areas. Great eateries, theatre and cultural centres are plentiful as well.

The SpaceYou will be sharing our home , but will have privacy on lower level of our bungalow. You will have a private bedroom with queen bed, private 3 PC. Bathroom and a living room area you can close off from the rest of the house with curtain panels. Lots of windows and natural light. A view of the lake in bedroom and bathroom. K-Cup coffee maker and small bar fridge. Parking is available and includes a fresh made Breakfast every morning. Guest Accessaccess to the grounds ( 2 acres of lake front property ) and miles of pebble beach. Lower level of house. parking, personal bar fridge , BBQ station with all necessary utensils and fire pit. Kayaks available with a rental fee of $10.00 pp. for 2 hours Interaction with Guestsmy husband and I will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have to make your stay more pleasurable. The NeighborhoodThis Neighborhood is surrounded by nature, Small community on the lake, with streams for fishing woodland trails, bike path for cyclists, farms with orchards perfect for the nature lover. We are surrounded by small towns all within a quick drive away. Cobourg , Grafton, Port Hope, Brighton and many more. Prince Edward County with it's vineyards and beaches is only 1 hour away and the famous Ste Anne Spa is 14 min drive. The Town of Cobourg (7min drive ) hosts some great Restaurants, such as The Mill, Woodland Inn, Oasis Bar & Grill , Sakura Sushi, Marca( Italian cuisine) and many more. Live music is often found in many of the towns establishments. Drive a little further west and Port Hope will also provide you with some interesting establishments. Labor Day Weekend is the famous Shelter Valley Folk Festival which is located minutes away from our location. Getting AroundThe Town of Cobourg has public transit and Via Rail. Bike rentals available at Green Canoe Outfitters. Other Things to NoteWe share our home with two small dogs, they will bark at you when you first arrive, but once they meet you, they will be friendly. Mother nature is a force to be reckoned with, we try to keep our beach front as neat and accessible as possible. Sometimes that will be out of our control and will not reflect the pictures we posted. Also please note that we are located 7 min by car out of town. Our rates vary between 96.00 and 120.00 Can, depending on season and weekends.

The SpaceThis charming home offers everything you'll need for a relaxing get-away. On the main floor is cosy living room, gas fireplace, living/family area, 2pc. washroom, eat-in kitchen with French doors to the back patio & gardens. There is also mud room, where you can leave your beach chairs, toys & gear. On the 2nd storey is: Masterbdrm with 1 Queen bed, a cosy 2nd bdrm with 2 twin beds, and a full 4 piece bathroom. For 5 guests, there is there is a futon in the family area. The location is prime - the Beach and beautiful Victoria Park is down the block, less than a 5 minute walk. Walk into downtown Cobourg, with restaurants, coffee & ice cream shops, banks, stores. Guest AccessThe kitchen is supplied with a kettle, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, blender, dishes, mugs, pots, pans, utensils, stovetop, microwave and fridge. There is no oven. A gas BBQ is on the deck. The full house, back patio & gardens are for your enjoyment. The garage is not included and not accessible to guests. The renowned St. Anne's Spa is a short drive. We're just 1 hour from Toronto, by car or VIA train, come out to relax and refresh! Getting AroundYou can walk to town, banks, most activities & conveniences. The closest grocery store would be about 20 minute walk, or a quick drive. There is a local bus that runs hourly. A car is useful to go to grocery stores, other bigger stores (Walmart, Winner's, Home Depot), shopping mall, and nearby towns and attractions: Port Hope, Rice Lake, Ganaraska Forest, The Big Apple... If you are taking the VIA Rail to Cobourg, I'd be happy to pick you up at the station, or help you arrange a taxi - it's a short ride to the house.
