The SpaceMy home is a 40's miners home with a few add-ons & updates which gives it a bit of a quaint feel. The spare bedroom in my home comes with a double bed, basic hanging area and contemporary IKEA storage. The bathroom, kitchen and lounge are shared by me and my guest/s. There is heating & air conditioning to the main area of the house. I'm a huge fan of IKEA so most for my furnishings come from there. The kitchen has a slightly 50's/IKEA feel. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for meals but please clean, tidy & leave all areas as they would expect to find them. As this is my home, I expect everything to be treated with respect & consideration. There are a few local restaurants, a lovely river walk, some historical buildings of note & a local market on Sundays. Collie is also well positioned to explore the beautiful South West of Western Australia! It is approximately 30 mins from the beachside at Bunbury, which is also home to our Dolphin Discovery Centre! There are vineyards throughout the area with plenty of places to stop & taste the local wines, as well as several breweries with local lagers & ales & even a cider brewery in Bridgetown, about 50 mins away. Spend a day visiting renowned Margaret River, browsing the quaint shops, tasting the local cheeses, olives & other local produce. Or take a tram ride on Busselton pier & visit the underwater cavern at the end for a look at Western Australia's marine life. There's also Karri & Marri forests with trees hundreds of years old & a treetop walk in Walpole that will take you into another world, to explore! Denmark has an interesting assortment of things to do & see & Augusta gives you the opportunity to see where two oceans come together. Getting around is best done by private or rental car, both in Collie & surrounds. There is a daily bus that leaves Perth airport around midday & travels to Bunbury & on to Collie. There is taxi service in Collie but no car rental. The closest car rental agency is in Bunbury. I live in a beautiful mix of forest, rolling country meadows, with the beach just down the hill!!! Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the kitchen, lounge, breakfast nook, laundry, sunroom and patio. There is off street parking around the back of the house. Interaction with GuestsIf I'm at home I'll provide as much information as I can about the local and South West area. Getting AroundThere is bus service from Perth Airport that stops almost outside my house that departs around 7:30 in the morning and arrives around 5:30 in the evening Monday - Friday (except on public holidays). The only form of transport is by taxi around town. If you are wanting to explore Southwestern WA then a car is a must. Overseas travellers can rent a vehicle from Perth Airport or there are car rental agencies in Bunbury (none in Collie). There are many walking and cycling tracks around Collie.
