The SpaceA wonderful 1000sq foot apartment and is the place I call home. It has a wonderful and cozy, sun drenched living room, a beautiful dining room with gorgeous Queen-Anne Victorian moldings and bump out, gourmet kitchen off the large side porch, a culinary garden, and large bathroom with washer and dryer. When you arrive you will almost immediately feel at home, with a large dining table and plenty of books to read. A couch and stereo to relax and read the paper. French press for your coffee and plenty of room in the fridge and pantry items to make your own meals. There is a super comfortable queen size bed for 2. My apartment is the first floor of a large Queen Anne Victorian home in art enclave, Collingswood, NJ. There are 2 parking spaces behind the house. It is located just two blocks from the Theater district business section, that includes the James Beard nominated restaurant, Zeppoli and one of the best Indian food restaurants I know of Inde Blue. A short walk from the acclaimed theater, The Scottish Rite. It is about a mile away from 2 speedline stations that take you into center city Philadelphia, and 3 blocks from the bus stop that takes you there. 5 blocks from beautiful Knights Park, and within walking distance to Collingswood's hip downtown with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, library, farmers market, and shopping. If you have a car, the apartment is 10 minutes to Center City via the Ben Franklin Bridge, and 5 minutes from South Philly via the Walt Whitman bridge. It is also 50 minutes from Atlantic City, on the Jersey Shore. It would be my pleasure to guide you to some of the most beautiful and delicious locales in the area while you stay. If you have any questions please ask. I would love to help make your stay as easy and comfortable and FUN as possible! Future guests please note: no parties, entertaining, or outside guests are permitted at the rental at anytime without prior approval. This is stated in the rules and limitations on the listing. Please consider the rules of the house before booking. - Thank you, Jackie Guest AccessGuests have access to 2 off-street parking spots (driveway is shared with upstairs tenants), side and back porch, and yard. The grill is available for use, but if you're the last to use up the tank we ask that you refill/replace it. The front porch and remaining two parking spots in driveway are off limits. Parties are not permitted. Apartment is not suited for families with small children and unfortunately, will not be accepted. I recommend staying at the Haddonfield Inn for families. Interaction with GuestsTypically, you can arrive anytime after 9:00am and let yourself in. However, this is not always the case, please specify your desired check in and check out times in your inquiry to book. You will be provided with instructions to retrieve the key. I will be located off site during your stay, but I am accessible via email or text for any issues that may arise. Check-out is equally as easy and flexible. Future guests please note: no parties, entertaining, or outside guests are permitted at the rental at anytime without prior approval. This is stated in the rules and limitations on the listing. Please consider the rules of the house before booking. Thank you. The NeighborhoodWhat I love about my neighborhood and my house is the community spirit. Every weekend, especially Spring through Fall, there are many activities happening right in town. If it is not the weekly farmers market, it is the Bike Share fundraiser. If not that, it is the Second Saturday Arts Walk and Gallery shows. If not that, it is simply pleasant to walk in and around the town's streets seeing who is making what and exploring many of Collingswood's beautiful historic Victorians. I love the many delicious eateries, the Best of Sushi at Sagami, the James Bear nominated, Zeppoli, the best Indian in the Northeast at IndeBlue, the most colorful music scene at the Scottish Rite and The Factory. The list goes on! Getting AroundBikes? Yes, Bikes!: Spring thru Fall Suggestion for FUN! Join the Collingswood Bike Share, 707 N Atlantic Ave Collingswood, NJ 08108 - while you are here. Public Transport: Convenient to the Patco Speedline train that takes you from Lindenwold, NJ to Center City Philadelphia. The apartment is within 1 mile of 2 Speedline stations. The SpaceSpending time in Philly? My home is just 5.5 miles away from Center City, within VERY comfortable walking distance to reliable public transportation. I'm listing a second-floor bedroom in a cute, well-maintained Collingswood row home built in 1928. The private bedroom has a beautiful hardwood floor and plush shag carpet, and is furnished with a made bed and empty dresser, closet and table that the renter may use. There is a lock on the door. The bathroom is in the room next door. It is shared with me, but I work my schedule around my guests' so it is always clean and available for their grooming and showering needs. (I'm a freelancer, so it's no inconvenience for me.) The bed is a twin (single), so most people rent as individuals. Two people can stay if they're comfortable sharing a twin bed, or if the second person can bring his/her own air mattress or something similar. I do have extra bedding and pillows. I have an extensive home library that includes classics, graphic novels, health books, spiritual books, poetry, cookbooks, coffee-table type art books, comic strip collections and more. Free wifi is available throughout the house. Free good coffee and tea are available, as are light breakfast items such as yogurt and protein bars. I can't make any promises, but I love to cook and bake, so it's quite possible that I'll have fresh cookies or similar treats on hand to share. As per the house rules, you can bring ingredients for your own meals and make them in the shared, clean kitchen. Dunkin' Donuts is right across the street. The guest room has a brand-new air conditioner. The office also has air conditioning. Guests may turn on and adjust the air conditioning as they wish. There are also portable fans available to use anywhere in the house. When the weather is pleasant, guests are free to open the windows for a fresh breeze. I'm located on a safe block just around the corner from the Ferry Avenue PATCO station (a speedline to Philadelphia -- rides are every 10-20 minutes and arrive in center city Philly in 15 minutes). Aldis grocery store is also just around the corner. Downtown Collingswood is within walking distance (about a mile), with many Zagat-rated restaurants and vintage stores. The PATCO train I mentioned also stops in Collingswood if you don't want to walk. Historic Haddonfield is about three miles away and also on the speedline. New York City is two hours away via Greyhound or Chinatown bus, both close to the Philly 8th and Market PATCO station. There are at least three good parks within a mile for jogging, bird watching, fishing and leisure. I have a small, friendly Jack Russell/Eskimo mix, as shown in my photos. She is a delight, and everyone who likes dogs enjoys playing with her. Guest AccessGuests have access to kitchen/appliances, laundry room with washer/dryer/iron (BYOD), backyard, living room with FiOS cable/DVD/VHS player and more. Guests are also welcome to watch a tape or DVD from my collection. Please see house rules for more information about using common areas. Interaction with GuestsAfter checking the guest in and giving a short tour, I mind my own business and give guests their privacy by default, like a hotel receptionist. I am available to answer questions or chat with guests if they would like. I am in and out of the house throughout the day. The NeighborhoodMost people stay to visit nearby cities Camden and Philadelphia. But Collingswood has its own charm, including many Zagat-rated restaurants, an award-winning farmers' market, an innovative bike sharing program and a quaint downtown with lots of cafes and mom-and-pops. If you want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, Collingswood is there for you. Getting AroundTransportation is excellent. Many go car free around here. Use your favorite map program or ask me for more details. Other Things to NoteAllergy alert: A cat used to live here.

The Space3 bedroom house in a first generation suburb. Collingswood was once labeled "The Nicest Town in New Jersey," and it's a friendly community with great walkability, a train into center city Philadelphia (generally takes about 20 mins), a ton of lovely restaurants and a couple of parks within a 1 mile radius. The house itself is nearly 100 years old--brick, with hardwood floors downstairs and (semi-tattered) carpet upstairs. It's got the charm--and quirks--of an older house (for example, the bathtub has about a million handrails in it, that were installed by the previous owner--I haven't had time to redo that room yet). There is a small front yard, and a slightly larger back yard. There is a driveway with one parking spot (though it can be a little tight to get out of), as well as plentiful street parking. Note: I do not have central air--there is an in-room AC unit in the bedroom that is for rent, which keeps it pretty comfortable even on the hottest days. Guest AccessYou will have access to the master bedroom, the bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining room. The two additional bedrooms belong to my kids, and are off-limit to guests (unless you're struck by a desire to do their laundry?). Interaction with GuestsDepending on when you come, I may be staying here too--most likely, you'll have the whole house to yourself, though. The NeighborhoodCollingswood has great restaurants, lots of charming shops, and many town events. You can see those on the town website: collingswood com. Getting AroundThere is plenty of street parking nearby. It's about a mile to either the Collingswood or Ferry Ave PATCO stations, which will get you into center city Philadelphia in about 20 minutes (depending on the train schedule/time of day). Other Things to NoteOne thing to know about Collingswood is that it is a dry town. There is a bar you can walk to, just about 10 minutes from my house, but if you're going to a local restaurant, they're BYOB.
