They are on the trampoline and hammock at times, but during the week are at school from 8.30am-3pm. The NeighborhoodThis area of the Bay is one of the most spectacular roads in the country, with wetlands over the bridges and a coastal road to the internationally reknown Farewell Spit. We boundary on the Aorere River, voted cleanest in NZ 2015. We have three local dairy farms, and a Cockle Factory in Pakawau with the local owner being our neighbour. The Whakamaramas are the hills behind our farm with vast numbers of Rata trees and manuka. We have our own bees and honey. Getting AroundThere are buses from Collingwood to Takaka and the Heaphy Track during the summer months. Often people will hitchhike in the Bay, so it is an acceptable form of getting around. Other Things to NoteIt can be noisy at times with motorbikes and children playing. The dairy shed has a hum when in use. The lambs will often baa, and we have two cats that are around and friendly. We have our BBQ in the porch area. If you do not like meat being cooked here then we can move it during your stay. We have our own bees, so if you are allergic then be aware of wearing shoes in the garden over the clover flowers.
