The SpaceOver looking the CT River, on a country road yet only a half hour from the five college area that includes Smith & Amherst Colleges, & ten minutes from Greenfield, MA and the lovely Shelburne Falls, the RoundHouse inspired by a dream was created to kindle connection & senses of awe, beauty, play, & creativity. In this winter time of the year, it is perfect for snuggling in &/or playing in the snow. On ten acres with a barn & paddock housing donkeys, gardens, meadows & woodlands, it is a place apart from the hubbub of the world (though with internet access). Animal tracks abound and the birds flock in mass. Water from a well is delicious! The house is filled with games, big libraries of books and movies, (& a 9 x 12' movie screen), a sound system with great acoustics, and many musical instruments, including two baby grand pianos. Its center is an open dance or congregation space; there are big dining tables, a kitchen ready to cook in with all tools available for use, a cupola on top that looks out and up to the sky. The house has been featured on television stations, including PBS, and their show has been played overseas. There are five bedrooms - with double or queen beds as well as many delightful sleeping cubbies, that are also largely doubles. There are 30 individual beds. The house was designed for large groups, especially those working on an artistic project together. By large I mean 16 people or more -- I have thirty individual beds and half are doubles, ...If you have fewer, you are welcome, but the cost is the base price of $1500 still. If you have more than 16 people , the cost is an additional $75 per person per day. There is wiggle room over the price especially for those staying three days or more. I do ask that the house be left in the footprint it was in when your group arrived, including remaking beds with fresh sheets that I will have laid out for you. It is possible for you to have me to do your food provisioning and cooking with as much as possible locally sourced and organic foods. Contact me for information about that. I am also happy to share all that is available in the area for you to tour and see; and to provide for you at cost farm fresh food, including free ranged eggs from my neighbor! Let me know if you have questions! Guest AccessGuests have access to most of the house, exclusive of the basement, my office and bedroom... Interaction with GuestsI am present to greet guests, give the tour, clarifying how things work; I usually tell the magical story of the ROUNDHOUSE's creation that you enter into its special mystery with extra appreciation. Typically, I move out with my dogs and live for the weekend in a cottage on the land so I can be available for barn tours and questions you may have. Again, I have cooked for groups and am happy to discuss that possibility with you. I am a great cook and I use as many locally sourced and organic foods as possible tailored to your likes, dislikes, allergies and special dietary needs. The NeighborhoodMy neighbors, in general, appreciate guests who come to our neighborhood. One told me once, he imagines those who are walking our country roads, looking over its hills and valleys, are feeling that they are in heaven...away from the dross of city life. In the winter, I often see animal tracks and am thrilled that the critters feel safe to come near! When the snows melt, I will start a beautiful garden - filled with flowers, herbs and veggies. Getting AroundThere is no public transport in this hill town though there are buses and will be trains coming into Greenfield. The station is about fifteen minutes away. It is possible to rent cars there or to take taxis...There is ample parking space at the roundhouse. I do have a gate at the end of the drive and a fenced in yard as my neighbor has free ranging chickens and I have had pups.

The SpaceOne bedroom, one bathroom in an antique house that has been remodeled to fit 3 apartments. This apartment has a full kitchen and a large bathroom with a tub/shower combo, bright living room with a cathedral ceiling and a cozy bedroom with a full size bed and closet. Some of the original cherry and fir flooring remains and has been refinished. Set on the main highway in a quiet country village. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, free wifi and Dishnetwork for tv. NO CELL SERVICE unless you have ATT. There is a microcell for ATT and we can put your # in while you are visiting. This has to be set up through the building owner/host. Please let them know in advance. The building is still undergoing exterior renovation as the host/owner " Kat's mom" is still financially recovering from Hurricane Irene damage as well as divorce. We would love to have you visit and fall in love with our old queen in paupers clothing and be a part of renovating historical beauty. After all she survived the Flood of 1938 AND Irene. She deserves to be loved. Guest AccessPrivate apartment is all yours with free off street parking that is shared with other tenants. There is a washer and dryer in the front hall of the building, turn the antique door knob to the right and push. A donation of $2 a dryer load is appreciated. There is a mailbox on the wall for that purpose. Thank you. Parking/driveway is unpaved. The building faces Rt 112 with a soft pumpkin colored front door. There is a very annoying stone pilar at the entrance of the drive. Yes it is One River Street but you do not turn onto River St for access. The highway dept is next door,a concrete block building with two large garage doors attached to a historical school building. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to hand over the keys and easy to contact if you need anything. We like meeting new people and have really enjoyed our airbnb experience so far. We do not live on the premises. We are only 12 minutes away if you need us. If you would like us to meet you with the keys we would be very happy to meet you at a specific time. Usually we leave the keys where you can access them at whatever time you arrive with no pressure for time. The owner /host Ava is sometimes on the premises doing some exterior work, gardening or lawn care. The NeighborhoodThere are a lot of cool places to check out and explore in our area. From artisan show rooms, antique shops to outdoor recreation on the Deerfield River or flying high on a canopy tour. Guided fishing on our Deerfield river to kayaking or canoeing on one of our quiet ponds or lakes. The village of Colrain itself is very quiet and unassuming which makes a perfect place to stay and access all the great happenings in Franklin County especially the Deerfield River tours and Berkshire East's great recreational facility. Vermont is just up the road and the famous Northampton, North Adams and Williamstown are just several minutes away. You must go into Shelburne Falls and wander around and visit our great restaurants, coffee shops and whole food store, Moe's fudge factory or Lamson's knives famous outlet kitchen store. Or pick up some grub and cook up a romantic dinner for two and stay in. Getting AroundThere is no public transit. This is a car tour destination. There is a new train station just minutes away in Greenfield and a car rental place as well. Other Things to NoteAny questions or concerns please contact us and we would be glad to help out. Please be respectful of our other tenants. Colrain unfortunately does not have good cell phone service so please keep this in mind. It is a small hill town set away from the city which means it is very quiet but only a short drive to grocery stores and other attractions Please remember, we are hosting because we use airbnb ourselves and love the concept but also to make an income to help bring our antique house back to it s former and much deserved beauty. It is a work in progress. The interior is complete. Please be understanding and respectful of that. Please remember to leave us feedback ,hopefully very positive, as this is how we on airbnb become excellent hosts.

The SpaceOur barn apt is all you could want for a relaxing weekend away or a longer farm vacation. The apartment sleeps 4-5, with a queen pull-out sleeper sofa in the living room, a queen bed in the master bedroom, and a twin bed in a small second bedroom (accessible through the first bedroom). There's a private porch where you can soak up the sun (or shade) and watch the world go by. The apartment has its own entrance, so come and go as you please! The apartment is self-catered, but we provide everything you might need for breakfast--coffee, tea, hot cocoa, milk, orange juice, bread, butter and jams. We also provide some special treats from the farm--fresh eggs from our free-range hens, maple syrup (and pancake mix to go with it), and, depending on the season, some fresh fruit or maybe a jar of homemade applesauce or canned peaches. We also make sure the apartment is stocked with essentials--oil and vinegar, mustard and ketchup--so you'll have some basics if you want to cook in the fully-equipped kitchen. If you'd rather cook outdoors, there is both a grill and a firepit that you are welcome to use. Bring your s'more makings! While thinking about your meals, consider buying a chicken or maybe some lamb chops from us for your lunch or dinner!! Both our lambs and our chickens are raised on untreated pastures, with no hormones or antibiotics in their feed. Our customers say our free-range birds are the tastiest they've ever had! Our birds range in size from 3 to 5 pounds, and we have a wide variety of lamb cuts. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use our washer and dryer, located in a common mudroom. Interaction with GuestsEden Pond Farm is a 100+ acre working farm (we raise chickens for meat and for eggs), so we are usually around tending to animals or other chores. Come help us collect eggs and feed the chickens and our donkeys, Eeyore and Dixie. And we're always happy to offer suggestions on what to see or where to eat in the area! The NeighborhoodBernardston and Leyden (we're right on the line) have some of the prettiest country in MA, perfect for exploring by foot, bike, skis, or car. We are close to many area schools (10 minutes to Northfield Mount Hermon; 20 minutes to Deerfield Academy and Eaglebrook; 30 minutes to Smith; 40 minutes to UMass and Amherst). There are lots of farm stands and farmers markets nearby, perfect for making a delicious locally-sourced meal! If you don't want to cook, we are just up the road from The Farm Table at Kringle Candle, and within a 15 minute drive of several other fabulous restaurants. Getting AroundWe are excited that Amtrak trains now stop in Greenfield!! Leave your car at home and take the train; we'll pick you up at the station in a Greenfield! Or rent a car from Enterprise in a Greenfield, and they will bring your car to the station. What could be easier!! Other Things to NoteBecause we do allow one-night bookings, we often have back-to-back rentals. So we ask that you check out by NOON, to give us time to get the apartment ready for our next guests. We are happy to accommodate later departures if there are no guests arriving on your departure day!
