The SpaceCurrent conditions: 11/12: The meadow driveway is closed for the season. Guests will park at upper driveway and use a 3 minute wooded footpath to access the cabin. A cart is provided to bring in gear. A log on the front porch will be replaced soon. It looks a bit worn. Conditions are wet and beautiful. You must be prepared to "finish split" the tamarack firewood provided. Consider a stay in this rustic, hand made cabin, restored in 2013. It offers a very quiet and private setting, and yet only 20 minutes from Priest Lake. Can be rented with "Sylvia's Selkirk Retreat," which is 1/4 mile away. This very private rustic log cabin was hand hewn in 1978 and renovated and refurnished in the Fall of 2013. It has a large first floor (450 square feet) which includes a living room, kitchen and dining area. The loft has a sleeping area for two with twin beds that can be arranged together or apart. The sofa folds down to sleep two adults. The roof peak of the cabin is 16 feet high. Meadowview Cabin sits 40 feet above Priest Lake (and about 7 miles by car from the lake) on 25 acres with trails on the property for walking and for hiking into the surrounding national forest, with peaks of 3000 feet. From the porch looking north, you see the Tola Ridge. Your neighbor is a 600 acre wilderness preserve (see pictures) owned and managed by the Kalispell, who allow hiking, fishing (with Idaho license), and non-motorized transportation. Visit the reclaimed Gooseberry Creek and fish native Idaho cutthroat trout thanks to the Kalispell's work. You may see a wide variety of wildlife on the property and in the area, including elk, moose, deer, coyote, turkeys, rabbits, etc. The cabin has solar power which supplies both 12-volt lighting and 110 volt circuits. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, everything you need to cook (email host for complete inventory). Bring your cooler as there is no refrigerator. The propane stove top has three burners and there is a propane grill outside with a grill box. There is a Lodge Hibatchi grill. You may also grill in the fire pit. Kitchen water supply from counter top container pumped by hand from the well (nonpotable). You will want to be comfortable cooking and washing without continuous piped water. It only takes a minute to pump five gallons of water from the well outside the cabin. Meadow View Cabin is very rustic. Drinking water must either be brought in or treated. Very clear non-potable water is available from the hand pumped well, creek, or snow melt for cooking and personal cleaning. There are separate sinks for personal washing and cooking. The heat is from a Fisher wood stove. Firewood is provided. There is a very nice outhouse behind the cabin. Take a moment to make sure this appeals to you. Guests report that the rustic aspect of the cabin is one the chief pleasures of the experience. Depending upon the season, restaurants can be found from 8 to 20 miles away along the west side of Priest Lake or a bit farther in Priest River, where you will also find major supermarkets. You may use the entire cabin and camp and bring campers onto the property. Additional charges for large groups. Discounts for longer stays, veterans, those in public service, and Bonner County residents. Plan to drive 8 miles to nearest shopping area. 25-30 miles to major supermarkets. Great swimming and boating on Priest Lake. See the museum and ranger stations for additional recreation. Also Priest Lake town website. The cabin sits on the edge of a wildlife preserve managed by the Kalispell. You may hike on the 600 acre meadow and explore their reclamation project, which involves restoring native trout (fishing with Idaho permit) and restoring the natural creek bed of Gooseberry Creek. This Shady Pines Loop cabin in the woods of Priest Lake, Idaho has become a home, a gathering place for family and friends, and an ideal location for outdoor activities that renew ones body, mind and spirit. It was built by a group of people who came together each summer for about a week, so it is a labor of skill and love that made a dream a reality. The evening gatherings around the campfire in front of the construction filled the air with laughter, stories and songs. It was amazing to be part of this tradition, this ‘family. It has the indoor space for quiet times of reading and sharing; the openness of the living and dining rooms for games and the kitchen for preparing simple meals or larger feasts on special occasions. Walks in any direction will provide exercise and sightings of animals, plants, and to see the changes in the weather. You can walk around the Loop; do a longer trek to Tamrak for shopping; or climb up the mountain searching for the raspberries and huckleberries. Actually, there is a huckleberry patch in the woods surrounding the cabin. The 18 hole golf course is near Tamrak. It’s developers blended the ruggedness of the terrain with the plans for distinctive and beautiful homes. It is available to the public, but just driving around the course can be a tour of excellence. Visiting the local library opens up the world of books, internet, movies in a “school house” type of log cabin. There’s even a special building that houses the “for sale” used books, DVD’s, games and the price will amaze you… books sold by the bag! Priest Lake as well, offers opportunities for swimming, fishing and boating or just strolling along the many trails. For the hardier hikers, there are paths to Upper Priest Lake. With so many points of interest to visit and places to eat, it feels good to return to the cabin for a relaxing evening. Weekend activities include church services, celebrations for July 4 and the Huckleberry Festival. The people of the area are very friendly. Check in-2pm / Check-Out 10am. Times may change for earlier check-ins, depending on bookings. $250 refundable deposit at time of booking. $65 non-refundable cleaning deposit.

“TOP 7 REASONS OUR CLIENTS STAY AT THE BEACHHOUSE OVER OTHER RENTAL CABINS” 1. The Beach: White, sandy, flat beach with shallow drop makes it very safe for small children to play, learn to swim, and build sand castles. “One of the best beaches on Priest Lake” The property is completely flat. No hill or steps to get down to the beach. If you’re at the cabin, you’re at the beach. 2. The Covered Deck: Relax and enjoy a drink in the shade 40 ft from the waters edge while watching your children swim in the shallow water. 3. The Space: If you are like me you may get tired of your in-laws (and vice versa) after a few days. The layout of this home makes it easy to get away from each other and have some peace and quiet. 4. Not the Tajmahal: Our guests find the home to be clean, comfortable and relaxing. If they whack the wall with a water-ski or track sand on the carpet it’s no big deal. They don’t spend time worrying about taking care of the facility, chasing their kids around and instead enjoy their stay. 5. Location: 4 miles north of Coolin. Minutes away by car to Cavanagh Bay Resort, Blue Diamond Marina, Leonard Paul Store, and the Moose Kn~~~. Being 4 miles from the South end of the lake also gets you to your vacation much faster from Spokane than many rental cabins on Priest Lake. 6. Southwest Exposure: We have sun until sunset in the summer (8-9 PM). Most rentals and resorts on the other side of the lake loose sun as early as 4 PM (4-5 hours earlier). 7. Your week stays your week: Stay once with us and you are a preferred customer for life. You have first right of refusal for next summer for the same week or pick another open week that you want more. Most of our clients return year after year until their children are grown and gone. Priest Lake Idaho is one of the most beautiful under used lakes in the USA. The fire pit was fun!” What a remarkable and special house. Overnight it snowed at least a foot! We woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland. The view of the mountains & lake is amazing. We had so much fun sipping hot cocoa & gazing out the windows at the spectacular view. At night we made a fire in the snow and roasted marshmallows. What a neat spot! We thoroughly enjoyed the very nice welcoming neighbors. Ardy’s homemade pancakes are delicious. Hope to be back next year! As you probably already know by now, this place is so incredibly awesome!! We all visited the rockslides and had quite frankly a blast!!! How did anyone ever find that place? We went up and down probably a 100 times. Unless some freak accident happens where the cabin burns down we are ALL COMING BACK next summer! What a wonderful location. We had a lot of fun with the air hockey table and the foos ball game. Beautiful lake with great views and a lot of stars at night. Kids spent almost every waking moment on the beach, while the adults watched from the great deck. We will be back! This is the first time we have been to Priest Lake in the spring. Had beautiful weather all five days! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! We saw an abundance of wildlife this trip; the most magnificent of all was a moose! A lot of great memories. We will be back this summer for sure! I had a lot of fun playing in the shallow water. The cabin was clean, nice, fun, and pretty. It had a great view. My family and I can’t wait to come here again. Out of 5 different places we have stayed I would say that this cabin is the best.
