We are in Coorabell which is set in the hills above the town with views to the Nightcap Ranges. There are many festivals in the area throughout the year for music, writing and alternative healing. There are farmers' markets and local artisan markets with local food and music. Getting AroundIt is desirable to have a car as public transport in the area is limited. Ballina airport is 35 mins from Coorabell and Gold Coast airport about 45 mins.

All that this special area has to offer is within a short drive....the delightful village of Bangalow; Byron Bay with its fabulous beaches, shops & restaurants; great country cafes; farmers' markets; antique shops and galleries...the list goes on! Sleep in comfort in your king-size bed and wake up to the sound of the birds. Enjoy a glass of wine watching a beautiful sunset from your private deck. Spend lazy days meandering through winding country lanes taking in breathtaking views and stopping for coffee or lunch at a hidden-away cafe. Snuggle up on the comfy red sofa and enjoy listening to music or watching a DVD...or simply gazing out at the view. No extra guests are allowed to the houses and noise levels are to be respectful at all times. There is to be no outdoor music or outdoor entertaining after 10pm. Noise complaints will result in bond deductions and possible eviction. We apologise for being so strict but noise is a serious issue in the Byron Shire and keeping our neighbours happy is of paramount importance.

The aptly-named “Sandcastle House”, built largely of rammed-earth, sits in this landscape just 6 mins by car from Bangalow, 15 minutes to Byron Bay and 15 mins to the Blues Festival site (in light traffic). The deck faces East with lovely short, medium and long distance views sweeping 180 degrees across rolling hills and a lilied pond while protecting against western sun. Guest bedroom is on the ground floor with your exclusive bathroom right next door. Your casement window looks out over the garden. Guest AccessYou have the run of the house, with full access to kitchen/dining/living/deck and fabulous courtyard with open firepit. The NeighborhoodWe are on a wildlife refuge - the birds, the cicadas, the frogs and the resident wallaby are a delight. But being just 6 mins to Bangalow with its cafes, restaurants and boutiques and history is a bonus. The beaches are 15-20 mins away...getting to Byron the "back" way might save you a heap of waiting time. The Blues Fest site is just 15mins down the highway - easy! Getting AroundYou will need a car to get to us...no public transport until you get to Bangalow where there is a shuttle bus to Byron and the Blues Fest. Other Things to Note- Fresh linen and towels provided - Hair dryer provided - If you need to wash clothes - the machine is available - Use of condiments and basics such as jam, butter, cereal, rice, pasta etc is included. The studio is situated 15 minutes from the world-reknowned beaches of Byron Bay and 10 minutes from the quaint villages of Federal and Mullumbimby. The space is brand new in August 2015 and only high quality furniture and finishings have been used; much of it is up-cycled and eco-friendly. We welcome families and are happy to provide a mattress to go on the floor for a small charge of $10 to cover the cost of washing. There is lots of space and a refreshing pool to enjoy together. The local area is full of colour and culture with a leaning to alternative lifestyles. Mullumbimby's Friday's farmers market is a highlight not to be missed or Byron Bay on a Thursday morning. The rate starts at $120 per night but varies according to seasonal demands. Off season rates are negotiable for singles or couples. We are close to festival sites at North Byron and for Splendour in the Grass - avoiding all the traffic hassles of Byron Bay. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise. We are high up on the ridge off Coolamon Scenic Drive and beautiful views over the coast surround our property. Crystal Castle in only 5 minutes away. Festival sites are approximately 20mins away with little or no traffic. There is so much to explore in the hinterland using this lovely studio as a base. It is meant for those looking for a peaceful place to sleep at night after eating at one of the many delightful restaurants in the area rather than those who wish to self-cater their own meals.             The SpaceRendered Straw bale house means warm in winter and cool in summer. We are located on 15 acres. Could comfortably fit 4 adults and 4 children. Min bedroom has a king-size bed. There is a queen bed that doubles as a day bed in the lounge room. Upstairs is an area with 2 kids beds, but could easily cater for 2 more. There is also a separate office (a converted container with western red cedar cladding) which contains another queen size bed. The NeighborhoodThere is a beautiful waterhole 1 minute drive away where the locals love to swim. There are many roadside stalls selling local produce and flowers. Markets in the area are on every weekend. Byron Bay is close by and Bangalow with its wonderful eateries and boutique shops. Federal is another local village with the best sushi, coffee, full breakfasts and corner store, located 2 mins drive from us. National parks, waterfalls and the myriad of activities that the North Coast of NSW has to offer is at your fingertips here. Getting AroundNo public transport from our house. It would be advisable to have your own transport. Parking includes a 4 space under-cover carport. Ballina airport or Coolangatta airports are the closest.
