Our family lives in a quiet, semi rural suburb of Adelaide. We have three kids, two cats and a dog who love having visitors to stay! We have a lovely Australian style house, across the road from a reserve and next door to a large farm. Our house is open plan, with a very large kitchen and family room, under cathedral ceilings. We have a large outdoor area also which students or guests can enjoy! Our area is very safe and quiet, yet easily accessible via bus to Flinders University (8km) and bus or train into Adelaide City (16km). At the moment we have a single room available for short stay students or travellers. The room has a beautiful outlook onto the reserve at the front of the house, and has a double bed, desk and clothes storage. Bathroom amenities are not ensuite, but are totally for shared use by our students/travellers (the family has their own bathroom). We can provide all meals, or just breakfast. We'd love to have you stay!

Wake up to birdsong! My house is a large family home in the Adelaide hills. I have a generous family room overlooking the patio, a separate formal living and dining room. The three bedrooms available share a wing separate from the master bedroom and a bathroom. The bedrooms are versatile in accommodation, but are currently set up as two doubles and the third has two single beds. There is plenty of room for a family, or the perfect place for a retreat. Coromandel Valley is only a 30 minute drive from the city and a 6 minute drive from Blackwood railway station. I am a 20 minute drive to the beach and the countryside, and close to public transport. Am more than happy to guide you through my favourite wineries or to Victor Harbor during January, or simply send you on your way.

The SpaceWe invite you to share our 13 acres of Australian bush paradise. Wake up to bird song or relax on your private deck to enjoy a coffee. At times you may be fortunate to see the semi-resident koalas and kangaroos. We encourage you to take a walk around the garden or explore our hidden valley with its variety of birdlife and local native vegetation. Bimbimbie consists of two distinct two buildings, the Studio and the Mudbrick Cabin which are located adjacent to each other. Access between the two buildings is provided by 5 steps from the Mudbrick Cabin deck to the private patio of the Studio. The Studio completed in 2014 contains a comfortable queen-size bed, a modern en-suite, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, air conditioning, and TV. The Mud Brick Cabin was built by the present owners in the 1980’s who used local and recycled materials. The spacious kitchen area is well equipped with a gas cook top and extensive cooking equipment. A BBQ on the deck complements the cooking facilities. Bimbimbie provides an unique experience for people to relax and unwind and wanting a short break from their busy lives. Perfect for couples seeking a unique SA experience. Guest AccessYou will have direct access to the Mudbrick Cabin and the Studio. The main house is about 100 metres away and your privacy will be respected. We encourage to walk around proteas and garden. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available to meet you on arrival. Apart from the many tourist brochures, we are happy to answer questions and provide recommendations. The NeighborhoodWe believe we have the best of both country and city living. Our neighbourhood consist of a semi rural suburb of Adelaide thus enjoying space, nature and relation. Yet close enough to easily access Adelaide the attractions of the Adelaide Hills and the beautiful beaches and abundant food and wine of the Fleurieu Peninsula Getting AroundEasy access to Adelaide is available by a 30 minute train ride. Blackwood train station is a 5 minutes drive. From here you can catch the local train to Adelaide. This service is very convenient as the Central Station is located right on North Terrace which is close to the Festival Centre and the main shopping centre in Rundle Mall. Other Things to NoteHaving your own transport is a necessity as the local public transport is over 5kms away. Bimbimbie is located down a shared private road. This 1 km dirt road needs to be taken slowly due to drainage bumps. Kangaroos also have a habit of crossing the road expectantly especially during dawn and dusk. The ability to negotiate uneven ground and steps with no railings is a necessity. This also makes the space not safe for children.

The SpaceThe Adelaide Hills are known for its pretty villages like Stirling, Crafers, Mylor, and the wineries which produce some great cool climate wines - Sauvignon Blanc and bubbles for example. My place is also not far from the McLaren Vale wine region (great for some gutsy reds!) and 15 minutes drive from Brighton beach. It is 5 minutes drive to Belair Golf and Country Club and Belair National park where you may be able to see koalas and kangaroos in the wild. Guest AccessYour bedroom is upstairs with a bathroom shared with one other person. Kitchen, family room, laundry and formal lounge are also shared, as is the rear garden, deck with large table and chairs (great for summer breakfasts) and a gazebo for shady space to relax and read a book. Interaction with GuestsContinental breakfast in dining area or outside if the weather is good. Shared space, but there is plenty of room to find a quiet corner. The NeighborhoodProperty is close to Coromandel Valley where there is a great local pub/hotel with an excellent restaurant and weekend muscic (relaxed country style entertainment) as well as a local bakery/cafe (both are a 30-minute country walk or 5 minute drive from the property). Parks, lakes and reserves at walking distance from property, including acres of bushland, ovals and tennis courts at Belair National Park - also great for cycling and golf. Getting AroundMy place is not close to public transport, but has on and off street parking for vehicles at no charge. There is a 'park and ride' free car park at the train/bus terminal 6 minutes drive (or 35 minute walk) from the property, with direct access to the city. Easy country road drives to Clarendon, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills towns of Stirling, Aldgate and Crafers. Other Things to NoteCooler in the summer and 15 minutes drive from the sandy and beautiful Brighton beach. Guests would be best served to have a car or be enthusiastic cyclists and/or walkers as the surrounding countryside is hilly.
