The Space A magical Redwood Treehouse located it the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. There is a live tree growing right through the main living area and another in the bathroom! It is simply incredible. It was built by my friend, Randy, a stained glass artist. Everyone who sees it are delighted by it. Please read entire description before making a reservation request. It has a delicious high-bed, a kitchen with a small stove and refrigerator, and typical cooking tools. There is a full bathroom with shower and toilet of course. There is now a hot-tub at about 103 degrees ready for your soak before bed or a morning treat. The Treehouse is a short walk of a few hundred yards (about four minutes) through the beautiful woods from the parking area. There is a gas stove for heating. There is a TV and DVD player with many movies to choose from. Redwood Treehouse comes with its own cat, Grey, who lives outside. She is employed as a mouser and does a fine job. She is friendly and loves attention. For travelers this is the best of both worlds. A wonderful treehouse nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1(Pacific Coast HWY) the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor. People come from all over the world to experience the Pacific Coast specifically the Monterey Bay area. It is an area rich in history. Here you will find world class art, music, cuisine, golf, surfing, sightseeing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, whale watching, birding, fishing, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and so much more. You can spend the day engaged in a variety of activities, physical and/or cultural. However you spend your day you can return home to a mountain treehouse and quiet. The weather here is excellent. It is located in a micro climate called a ‘banana belt’. Though the beach is only 25 minutes away we are often in the sun when our neighbors in the valley and on the coast are in the fog. Winters are mild we average 25” of rainfall a year. Summers can be warm but delightful. The fog rolling in at night is nature’s air conditioner and everything cools down. The weather is nearly perfect. Fog burns off early enough to make the beaches comfortable all day. The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to Sequoia Sempervirens commonly known as a Redwood Tree. They are native only to a specific part of Pacific Coast region. Come and visit our amazing part of the world and experience something special about the California Coast. All linens are provided. The kitchen has the basic items for cooking, i.e., spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, and tea. Two-night minimum on weekends. THREE-DAY MINIMUM on HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. A 60.00 cleaning fee will be charged per each stay. We are a green establishment. Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used. We ask our guests to consider using fewer towels during their stay and not requesting a sheet change unless your stay is longer than a week. I have a moderate cancellation policy. You must cancel a full seven days before your reservation. Please make sure that you read it thoroughly. You will be charged 50% of your stay if you cancel after the grace period.

After a wonderful and rigourous ride, or day of wine tasting stop at the Corralitos Meat & Sausage Market for some of the finest smoked meats around. This cabin is a small studio that contains a queen size bed, a mini fridge, microwave, large toaster oven, hot plate, and crock pot. And a sofa bed that can accomodate two. It has a nice bathroom that contains a stand up shower and a dry composting toilet from Biolet, which we clean throughly before and after each guest. There are numerous wineries within 5-10 min and we are only 30 min away from the Santa Clara Wine Valley. Our property is 20 minutes to the closest beach including Manresa and Sunset State Beaches. We are 30 minutes away from downtown Santa Cruz and the Beach Boardwalk as well as the Mystery Spot. We are located 25 minutes from Capitola Village and Historic Watsonville. We are also 15 minutes from the wetlands that are famous for bird watching and nice strolls There is space to relax and BBQ outside to enjoy the scenery. The cabin is completly separate from the main house and we will leave you alone for the duration of your stay unless a request is made. My family has lived on our property for over 30 years and we are more than knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Though we ourselves have dogs we ask that you please leave your pets at home. You may want to have a car as there is no close public transportation. If alone time and some good ole' peace and quiet is what you are looking for then our cabin is the place for you. Also, three AirBnB verifications, a completed profile with city and state, and a member profile photo are greatly appreciated. Booking requests should include first and last names of all guests, especially with new Airbnb members. Due to past experiences we now only accept non-smokers. Thanks! ******************************************************* Cozy 3 bedroom cabin with wood interior and open floor plan. Wonderful for couples, families or small gatherings of friends. Enjoy relaxing inside, making a meal in the full size kitchen, eating at the large dining table or sinking into the sectional couch with a good book or watching the large flat screen TV. Large selection of older DVD's available. Better yet take it outside onto the large deck in the middle of the Redwood Trees! Or if you'd rather spend the day out exploring, it's a scenic 25-35 minute drive to Aptos or 35 -45 minute drive to Santa Cruz. Both locations have great restaurants, beaches, and shopping. Want to go a little bit farther? Head to Monterey and the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Take a look at our guidebook for more nearby activities. The kitchen is typically stocked with the basic items for cooking, i.e., pots, pans, cooking utensils, spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, tea and much more. Please help yourself. Along with everything shown in the photos, also available for your use are additional folding chairs, 1 large rectangular indoor/outdoor table, a large free standing hammock, air hockey table under queen bed upstairs, and an X-box with a few games and a large screen TV across from the twin bed upstairs (this TV does not have reception and is only for the x-box). In case you forget to bring your own, the bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, and other sundries. As with most A-frame houses with an open floor plan, the two downstairs bedroom walls are free-standing. This means the bedrooms are not private and have an open ceiling. The rooms have large open doorways with curtains instead of doors. Bathrooms have folding doors. Also, the upstairs is only accessible by an outside staircase or an inside ladder that goes to a landing with a very short railing. My concerns for children at the cabin are that they are watched closely on the ladder and the second floor landing, which of course is the favorite place of every child that visits the cabin. The landing has a very low railing which I have kids keep away from. When they are on the landing, I have them sit or be on their knees only. Makes it easy to keep them from leaning over the railing. Another concern for children is the electric wall heaters that are very easy to turn on and get extremely hot. Kids LOVE the cabin and I am not trying to discourage anyone from staying. I just want to make as many details of the cabin as clear as possible and keep everyone safe. ***WATER USAGE**** Currently our water spring is running but if you are there and the water pressure drops at all simply conserve water. We are on a shared spring with our neighbors and if the pressure starts to drop and you continue using water, it will temporarily run out for both the cabin and our neighbors who live there full-time. If the pressure does start to drop, limit flushing, skip showers or take "navy showers" and make all other efforts to conserve water. For back-up emergencies, there is a drinking water dispenser and several 5 gallons jugs of water. The cabin is down a private, bumpy country road, less than one mile. We travel it in our minivan and Honda Accord, however, I would definitely not recommend it for low riding cars or if you are concerned about road dust or mud puddles when it rains! I have a "strict" cancellation policy. You must cancel a full seven days before your reservation. Please make sure that you check your dates carefully. You will be charged 50% of your stay if you cancel after the grace period. **A larger deposit is required for monthly rentals. And for our returning guests, please ask about our specials. Thank you so much! Guest AccessGuests have access to the cabin, driveway to wood bridge, wood bridge and(careful) parking for 3 cars in front of the cabin. The cabin is surrounded by Redwoods AND nearby neighbors who are not expecting to have guests exploring or hiking on their private property. Please be respectful of our wonderful neighbors to ensure the privacy of everyone in the canyon. Interaction with GuestsI am a phone call away and happy to answer any questions or address any concerns at anytime. The NeighborhoodThis is a remote property in a redwood forest on Mt. Madonna down a private gated road with a small community of nearby neighbors. It is a beautiful area, especially right at the cabin with all the Redwoods, but please do not forget, as with any rural California area, you are in the wilderness and should be aware of your surroundings and on the look out for anything from poison oak, yellow jackets, and ticks that may carry Lyme disease to Mountain Lions. There is lots of poison oak on the hillsides, I've taken two ticks off my sons, and there have been mountain lion sightings in the area. If you are unfamiliar with these things, please ask, and I am happy to discuss or direct you to websites with more information. The road into the cabin is for driving only, not walking/hiking, since the road passes through our neighbors' "front yards". Please do not use the trail by the barn as it meanders onto our neighbors property and the road going past our bridge is our neighbor's very long driveway, not a walking trail. Getting AroundGuests need to have their own transportation as there is no nearby public transportation. To determine how far the cabin is from any location, use Windy Oaks Estate Vineyards and Winery in Corralitos as a location and then add about 5 minutes. Other Things to NotePlease communicate and confirm check-in times & key exchange after booking. Please check with me before inviting visitors beyond the number in your reservation. Should there be any problems during your stay, immediately notify me so I can fix it.

The SpaceWe pride ourselves on providing a comfortable stay with a great bed and good food. Our gardens are seasonly producing and our chickens are often laying! There are two rooms that are each comfortable for two people but we have a fold out couch that can accommodate more if needed. The lookout tower in our back yard is a wonderful place to come sit, paint, or do yoga. There is a BBQ, fire pit, and back yard here for your use. We also have horses in the back that always love a pat and an apple. We also have lots of kid friendly fun such as a trampoline, rope swing, and room to romp! They will have access to the house, front/ back yard, rope swing, trampoline, viewing tower, gardens, and hot tub. We would like to show you around the house and property but then we will stay out of your way! Aaron is often busy in the garden or his shop and Liz is either baking or busy with the horses so we will be available but not in your space. While our street is not very exciting, we are located right at the base of Mt. Madonna. So if you are interested in a good hike, its just a 15 minute drive up the mountain! We are also close to Gizdich Ranch (best pie in Santa Cruz!), Monterey is an easy drive south and Santa Cruz is just a half hour north! There is a lot of good wine tasting we can recommend in the area as well as great restaurants. There are no bus lines near by so you will need your own form of transportation. We live on the property in a studio behind the house. We both work for ourselves so our schedules are often flexible. We love working in the garden and on projects around the property so while we will not be in your space, we are often around. The SpaceCraftsman style country home on a sunny half acre just South of Santa Cruz. The property is a ten minute drive from beaches and excellent small restaurants. We are designed for indoor outdoor living. Located 60 min from Silicon Valley and 90 min South of San Francisco in a country setting, we are a beautiful 40 min drive North of Monterey Bay Aquarium. Take a day trip to Big Sur. Or hike in the nearby Redwoods. Or grab a bike and tour the local wineries and apple orchards just minutes from the house. Santa Cruz has a vibrant music and dance scene, a Boardwalk. Sailing, surfing, kayaking (or I can give you a rowing lesson). Access to a car and transportation from the airport open for discussion... Bedroom and guest cottage are both perfect for a couple. A larger group can book the main house -- up to three couples. Kids and pets welcome -- no indoor smoking please. Optional Amenity (Inquire Ahead) Wood-Heated Hot Tub: May be available depending on drought and other restrictions. Guest AccessCottage guests access the bathroom and kitchen through the back door. The bathroom in the main house is shared between the cottage guests and the small bedroom. Guests who need ready bathroom access will be more comfortable in the small bedroom as it adjoins the bathroom. Interaction with GuestsI work multiple jobs and, while I love people and enjoy AirBandB guests, the reality is that I am often gone from home. We have dogs and cats. Getting AroundNo. The main bus route is 2 miles from the house. Other Things to NoteI do not mind late arrivals. We love animals and have both cats and dogs. Our animals are not allowed in the guest rooms because many guests have allergies. People who ar super allergic won't be comfortable. But we have many guests with mild allergies who do just fine.

The SpacePlease read ALL the details in this listing (especially the "House Rules") before inquiring to book! If you are looking for a place to party, this is NOT the place for you. Adults enjoying drinks around the campfire is one thing, but drunken parties are NOT allowed. Offering 375 sq. ft. of floor space, this clean and cozy 22 ft. Geodome easily accommodates 4 people. It has a huge bay window overlooking a private meadow in the redwoods and a wood stove for heating. The dome is not the only thing unique about this lodging for it is located on a private campground complete with a campfire area, outdoor showers, nearby hiking trails, and more. We provide four comfortable cots for beds, and require that guests bring their own sleeping bags or blankets and pillows. There is a small refrigerator, a microwave, an electric hot plate, and a Keurig coffee maker with a stash of coffee and tea and basic kitchen supplies. There is also a small grill outside the dome for guest use. We provide fresh drinking water from our spring fed well. For your enjoyment, there is a collection of board games, a TV with a DVD player if you want to pick up a redbox or borrow from our collection of movies, a stereo with a docking station and a few musical instruments. We also provide our guests with a guide to nearby hiking trails. Guest AccessGuests enjoy private use of the geodome and the surrounding campground, which includes an outdoor campfire pit. There are hot showers and a clean composting toilet just outside the dome. Interaction with GuestsThe dome is located a short distance away from the main house on a 4.5 acre property. We live on the property and we will be present during our guest's stay. We like to meet our guests and give them a brief orientation to make sure they are comfortable. The NeighborhoodThis lodging is in a private forest setting. It is an ideal location to intimately connect with nature. However, on occasion during the summer months, the retreat center located right next to our property hosts weddings, so you may hear the music from the reception at night if there is a wedding scheduled during your stay. It's important to arrive with everything you need for your stay...food, drinks, firewood, etc, since it's at least 15 to 30 minutes to the nearest store or town. There is parking for 2 cars on site. Other Things to NoteGuests should come prepared to cook their meals in the microwave, on the gas grill, or on a grill over the campfire. There are grocery stores nearby that offer prepared foods such as the Corralitos Market & Sausage Company and the Summit Store. Guests are responsible for bringing firewood to use in the wood stove as well as for the outdoor fire pit. Artificial fire products such as Duraflame logs are prohibited in wood stoves but are acceptable in the outdoor campfire pit. Winter lodging.... It can get very chilly up here in the mountains during the winter. We recommend that you pick up at least two to three boxes of wood to keep the dome cozy through the night. During storms, we sometimes lose power, so check the local weather before booking to see what's in the forecast!

Library, board games and a creek with a seasonal waterfall round out the off grid like experience. Remote and quiet. Bicyclist dream spot. Birds. World class bicycling amongst Redwoods and the Corralitos creek figure largely as visual backdrops. Jaw dropping nature without the crowds, privacy abounds. Not child friendly. No wi-fi, almost no cellular connectivity.. If you're looking to disconnect, look no further. World class cycling at your doorstep. Hiking trails. The Corralitos Sausage Company is your local market. I'll give you a video tour upon booking. This is due to the complex nature of private roads, driveway and uniqueness of the property. Redwoods, Private drive and no neighbors. Parking is nearby, and if you need to transit from SJC airport (one hour away) I can offer some guidance. This is world class bicycling at it's very best, So we market to our built in fans who travel far and wide to experience our fantastic backyard. This is off the beaten track. Deep in the Redwoods. Quiet abounds. Bicyclists dream of touring our rural roads. If your idea of remote is the Ritz Carlton, I'd look elsewhere. Guest AccessThis is a cabin built into the redwoods. The top perch is more tree house than cabin. The property is currently a retreat for writers and working creatives seeking a space to finish a project. There is an extremely long private driveway. Access with certain high end vehicles not encouraged due to the condition of the roads. Longer stays can be considered with a discussion and dates. Interaction with GuestsThere is a care taker nearby that can answer questions and offer guidance. The NeighborhoodCorralitos is famous for the beauty of apple orchards and rolling hillsides. The SpaceA cozy and romantic fireplace will greet you in winter or other cold days. The kitchenette has a refrigerator with ice (and we can always give you extra from ours). It has a large microwave, a toaster, an electric tea kettle, electric drip coffee pot and a Keurig automatic machine. Outside on your deck we just put in a nice small gas barbecue. We do not have a hot plate for fear of fires inside. The kitchen area has a generous counter, cabinets and sink. You will find all the basic utensils and dishes needed. Regularly needed condiments include, coffee, tea, salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, mustard, mayonnaise, sugar, butter, and milk for coffee. We will be near by so anything simple can be requested from our kitchen to help out. And by the way, the water here is considered the best; I have a friend who comes here to refill her gallon containers! The bathroom is part of the suite/studio space with its own door and has a handsomely tiled shower, counter and floor. The ceiling is raised like the rest of the place, and has both a skylight and a window. Guest AccessYour studio/suite is private and a separate building from our house. We use it early each morning but after that it's yours when desired. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available to greet, and acquaint you with the place for your stay. We have two small Scottish terriers. They are very friendly, though they might bark a greeting when you arrive. They live in our main house and patrol the gardens a few times per day. The front entrance has a simple latch at the top of the gate. It's there to keep deer from entering our gardens. If you arrive late, please be sure to relatch it. My art studio downstairs is used only by me, so when in use, my activities should not affect your stay in any way—no loud noise from me etc. The NeighborhoodPrivate and welcoming to long walks and cycling. A cozy cottage nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1. HWY 1 is the Pacific Coast HWY, the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor. Or if you are looking for some peace and quiet. Looking south from inside the cottage is the largest window which affords the incredible view of the Pajaro Valley. The queen size bed is placed so you can enjoy gazing out upon the fertile valley while lying in bed. Some mornings the fog lays down so perfectly one can feel wonderfully alone looking out at the sea of soft white. Sunsets are often remarkably beautiful. Sit on the front deck in an Adirondack chair with a cup of tea or glass of wine and enjoy creation. In the morning and evenings you can sit and watch and listen to the Mourning Doves, Band Tailed Pigeons, Oregon Juncos, Stellars and Scrub Jays, Hummingbirds, Hawks and Ravens. The SpaceThis family ranch is located in the beautiful hills above Corralitos in south Santa Cruz County. There are three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a large living space divided into living room, dining area and kitchen. Enjoy the authentic Mexican fireplace in the living room or decamp to the in-ground fire pit in the garden. Each room in the hacienda allows easy access to the tiled patio, the outdoor living spaces and views to the beautiful Monterey Bay beyond. The master suite has a king size bed while the second and third bedrooms have queen beds. A full bath with huge walk in shower is located off the master suite, a second half-bath is accessed from the living area, and another full bath is next to the third bedroom. The third bedroom is located in the hacienda's east wing while the master bedroom and second bedroom are in the west wing, making for optimum privacy. Hacienda de la Colinas, or Hilltop Hacienda, is located on 16 acres with sweeping upper and lower meadows and stunning views of the sea and the redwood-studded mountains. This is a retreat-like property perfect for guests seeking peace and serenity in a natural setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The hacienda is approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the locally famous Corralitos Market & Sausage Co, 40 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 40 minutes from Monterey. We are close to the Demonstration Forest, one of the top three mountain biking destinations in the Bay Area. Hikers and walkers will love the nearby Byrne-Milliron Forest Preserve, 402 acres of protected forest land owned by the Land Trust of Santa Cruz. The trails at Bryne-Milliron are magical and the views awe inspiring, yet it is still largely undiscovered and it is not unusual to have the forest all to yourself. After your hike or your bike, try out the wineries on the Corralitos Wine Trail or pop into the Corralitos Brewing Co for a craft beer or ale. If you are a party type with a propensity to live large, this is not the place for you. We strive to keep our environmental footprint small, and expect the same from our guests. Our water is sourced from a private well, and conserving this precious resource is the name of the game on our mountain. The property is accessed by a paved but narrow 2-mile private road which is quite steep and windy in places. Once you arrive, you may never want to leave. You'll probably want to do your grocery shopping before driving up the hill, as the closest store is 20 minutes away. A family member lives at a separate structure on the property (with separate driveway) and can help you plan your outings if you decide to venture out. There is plenty of outdoor space, including a gazebo with BBQ and dining table as well as an in-ground fire pit (available depending on weather/fire safety conditions). Each wing has its own exclusive patio space to provide privacy. We have recently installed a hot tub that is available to guests for an extra fee to cover the horrendous electricity charges, please let us know in advance whether you want to use the hot tub. See house rules for further information on accessing the hot tub. Laundry facilities are not included, due to water limitations and because we need to maintain direct access to these facilities during your stay (the laundry room has a separate entrance). The ranch has a TV for watching Netflix in the living room as well as a DVD player. There is no cable TV or satellite dish. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire property. The meadow surrounding the hacienda is also yours to explore. It is not recommended to go "off piste" into the wooded areas as there is poison oak in the woods. Please check for deer ticks if you wander around the property. There are no hiking options accessible directly from the property, as the neighboring properties are all privately owned. The road ends shortly after the barn on our property and becomes a private driveway. Please do not walk on this part of the road, as it belongs to our neighbors. Interaction with GuestsA family member lives on the property in a separate caretaker's unit and will be available to answer questions and provide suggestions to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Your host will drop in to greet you as well, if possible, and is always available through the Airbnb messaging service or by phone. The NeighborhoodThe hacienda is located at the top of a sparsely populated mountain road. We share the mountain top with a rafter, or flock, of wild turkeys that frequently visit our meadow. There is a elderly bobcat who hangs out on the meadow, while deer and hawks abound. The hacienda itself is fully deer-fenced, so the wild life generally stick to the meadows and leave the garden areas for us humans. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in our mountain area. Road biking is popular in the Corralitos mountains, but the hills are steep. Other Things to NoteWe do require a filled in Airbnb profile with a head shot photo before we will accept reservation requests. Please make sure to tell us a little bit about yourself and your traveling companions and what brings you to our neck of the woods. We also require the full names of all guests staying at the hacienda, so please include these in your reservation request. If you are booking via the Instabook process, you will still need to provide this information. Our hacienda is registered with the County of Santa Cruz for the purposes of the TOT, and our certificate number is CO00552. BYOF -- Bring your own firewood if you are planning to use the indoor fireplace or the outdoor fire pit. Please check to make sure fires are allowed, depends on CalFire fire risk designations which vary depending on weather conditions.

A family member lives on-site and can help you plan your outings if you decide to venture out. The hacienda is divided into two private wings with completely separate entrance ways. There is no access between the wings as they are rented out separately on Airbnb. The smaller wing, dubbed La Casita, may be rented to guests who want a third bedroom at an extra charge, depending on availability and family requirements. Please check with your host for more information. See our separate Airbnb listing for "La Casita at Hilltop Hacienda" for further details on the hacienda's smaller wing. You can access the listing for La Casita by clicking on our profile photo and then scrolling down to the listings located under the biographical information under our profile. The SpaceThe Red Barn is located on a family-owned ranch at the bottom of a lovely meadow. It has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and bucolic mountain and meadow views. There are even ocean peeks from the upstairs landing and one of the bedrooms. The two bedrooms are on the second floor, while the entry area, living room, dining space, kitchen and bathroom are located on the ground floor. There is a TV in the living room, from which you can access Netflix. There is no cable TV or satellite. The huge back yard area is equipped with a picnic table made by a local artisan, a covered patio-deck with a hammock for napping and chairs to admire the mountain and ocean views. A fire pit surrounded by handmade adirondack chairs is yours to enjoy when weather/fire conditions allow. There is also a propane barbeque for alfresco cooking. The Red Barn has a separate owner's studio/workspace. This has its own entrance and private outdoor space (see photo), and we may come and go during your stay. Guests have plenty of privacy, however, and there are no shared common areas. We ask that you respect the neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum during the quiet hours between 10 pm and 8 am. The ranch is approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the locally famous Corralitos Market & Sausage Co, 25 minutes to the quaint town of Aptos, 40 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 40 minutes from Monterey. The SpaceLa Casita is the smaller, private wing of a family ranch located in the beautiful hills above Corralitos in south Santa Cruz County. While the studio apartment is connected to the hacienda, it has its own entrance and there is no access internally between the two wings. There is a one-room studio containing a queen size bed, comfy sofa and a dining corner. La Casita also has a separate kitchen with stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven and a mini fridge with freezer. The comfortably-sized bathroom has a tub and shower combo and travertine tile work. Outside, La Casita has its own patio space which is separated from the main wing patio by a privacy fence. Enjoy your home-cooked meals al fresco on the tiled patio! There is a gazebo with BBQ and dining table as well as an in-ground fire pit (available depending on weather/fire conditions), both of which are shared with the main wing of the hacienda. Guests at La Casita are also free to enjoy the upper and lower meadows at the property. We do ask that guests at La Casita respect the privacy of the occupants in the hacienda's main wing by not encroaching on their private space.
