The SpaceWe live just blocks from campus yet live in a peaceful, sweet neighborhood with both established families and students. We have an independent, fully furnished apartment downstairs (we live upstairs) that is ready for some visitors, far and wide or close and local. Anyone who comes to see the house is amazed at how spacious and welcoming the apartment is and guests have claimed the deepest sleep in our bedroom. Our home is a 1947 bungalow with beautiful and charming features and just the right amount of character. With that, we are blessed with original wood flooring; however not soundproofed. The sounds of our everyday life, including a one-year old (happy!) baby, do travel downward. But our little one is sleeping by 7:30 pm and we are very careful with guests to not wear our tap shoes. We have stocked the apartment for all your creature comforts, including: gas fireplace for cold evenings; a projector and speaker system for entertainment; fresh towels and toiletries; and, the kitchen has all the pots, pans and dishes one could ask for. Babies and toddlers welcome too! If you have an infant or toddler - we have a pack and play available. Also, all of our wall electrical outlets are covered for safety. Guest AccessGuests enter in through the side entrance with their own parking space. The central mudroom provides access to both apartments and is a shared space, but the entire apartment is all yours! Interaction with GuestsWe are here for you if you need us and will give you plenty of recommendations from food/bars/play areas for kids/outdoors rec/etc. We would love to hang with you and interact as much as you would like. On the other hand, if you prefer, we can completely avoid each other and never make eye contact :) The NeighborhoodNorthwest Corvallis has the benefits of both student life and a quieter paced family life. We enjoy the mix and enjoy the true neighborhood feel. We are sandwiched in between the charm of downtown, the beauty of campus and the amenities of Monroe and 9th Street. Getting AroundWe have a public bus stop on the block and are a 5-10 minute walk to central campus and Monroe. Fred Meyer is a 10-15 minute walk, and the Natural Grocers is a 10-15 minute walk in the other direction. We are a 30 minute walk (at the most) to the farthest part of downtown Corvallis. Other Things to NoteWe are avid travelers ourselves and enjoy the comings and goings so we are so happy to have this opportunity to share our house with fellow travelers.

The SpaceThis is a cozy, furnished studio apartment, with a full spacious, bath(shampoo, conditioner, body wash included) The large, studio includes a refrigerator(filled with goodies for the first morning), microwave, coffee pot, electric kettle, wifi, cable television and dvd player. It is fully furnished with a high end queen size bed, 100% cotton sheets and memory foam pillows. There is a sound machine by the bed for sensitive sleepers. Cozy and comfortable living room furniture with an electric fireplace make it a perfect place to relax. A small desk and chair along with a round dining room table and chairs round out the furnishings. The dressing room has a full sized ikea dresser for your use, plenty of storage as well. There are gorgeous views of the Cascades and Corvallis from the main part of the house. The studio has a private entrance. There are steps down the hill, that lead to this entrance. These are well lit and the path dry. The walk up is steep in case that would be a concern. I am also open to letting people use the interior stairs if the outside is simply not to your liking. Luggage can be awkward for some so if you would like to take your luggage in through the house that is great. The apartment comfortably suits 2 people. The studio is on the lower floor, so footsteps above can be heard at times for the 'noise sensitive'. The SpaceThe clean and simply decorated room has a comfortable queen sized bed (new bed so no more squeaky box springs!), plenty of closet and drawer spaces, as well as your own desk. It's great for students, faculty, or cooperators visiting OSU. And, it's far less expensive than a hotel. Guest AccessYour room is one of three bedrooms in our guest house - the others are Double Take and Paisley Dreams. All of bedrooms are situated down a main hallway, along with the shared bathroom. You are welcome to share the main living spaces as well (kitchen, dining room, living room, back yard). We may, or may not be readily available to guests, but are a phone call away if needed. The NeighborhoodWe're a block away from the historic College Hill neighborhood, not far from the NW edge of OSU. It's a safe and quiet neighborhood. If you drive here, our side of the street is in a residential parking zone, so on weekdays you'll have to park across the street or around the corner where parking's unrestricted. Street parking in front is easy at night and weekends, except on football game days. Getting AroundCorvallis is awesome for bicycling just about anywhere in town, and walking. We're a 10-min walk to restaurants along Monroe, 10-20 min walk to just about anywhere on campus, and 15-min walk to First Alternative Grocery north store. As with most of Corvallis, we're within easy biking distance to anywhere in Corvallis. Bus stops are only a few blocks away. Other Things to NoteWe have a very friendly dog and 2 cats, and a huge garden with flowers, fruits and veggies and wildlife habitat. One of the cats is extremely friendly, so you'll have to keep your door shut if you don't want him in your room. In the summer, the back porch is fabulous for BBQs and hanging out.
