The SpaceWelcoming people to my home I'm renovating. New roof, heating, cooling, appliances, flooring, plumbing, etc. Modest home built originally in 1909 with nice woodwork, two original fireplaces, deep wrap-around front porch and a back porch, garden, fire pit, and little fish pond. Room is smaller 13' by 9' with full-size bed for 1 person (or 2 people, snuggly) dresser, chair, table. Everything kept clean. Duvet/blanker cover, linens, towels cleaned after each guest.
I enjoy hosting all types of people from all over. I offer a safe, comfortable, welcoming place to rest. Last-minute booking are fine as long as I'm home and awake. Relaxed atmosphere. Come by and make yourselves at home. Families are welcome. I can let you prepare your own snack or breakfast or make something for you. Everyone is different and may want to be left alone or have more interaction. I try to accommodate everyone best I can and enjoy the company even if it's a quick-in, quick-out.
Offer tea and coffee anytime during your stay. Filtered water available, also ice and storage in the freezer, fridge, and kitchen. Use of gas stove, toaster oven, toaster, tea kettle, French coffee press.
Located in safe older neighborhood. Shared full bath next to room. Toilet room downstairs. Full house access. Wifi and cable TV in living room.
Room base rate good for 1 person and includes basic breakfast items. $5/person beyond 1. Booking over 2 people please book other room or extra people can sleep on air-mattress downstairs and also on couch.
You can leave the used towels hanging up in the room on door hooks and leave the sheets on the bed. I'll take care of the dirty dishes for you so you can be on your way without delay. Leave recycling separate and I'll sort it for you. Guest AccessEntire house except other bedrooms you are not renting. I have my own room in the house. Interaction with GuestsI'm happy to interact as much or as little as we want. Depends on our schedules and preferences. Sometimes we can be chatty or not. I'm happy to have people in the house and don't need to chat if the guests are tired and need sleep. The NeighborhoodSafe neighborhood with nice old homes. Half mile to downtown restaurants, shops, banks, post office, grocery, pharmacies, park, pond, summer icecream stand. Drive to the Bear's Den restaurant for their all-scratch kitchen and local-raised beef. Breakfast at Francis Family Diner, Courtside Deli, Midtown Bar. Shop antiques at Penny Court or upstairs at Country Bits. Getting AroundNo public transit. Walk just over a half mile to downtown or drive. Good for biking if you bring one. Other Things to NotePets OK. Each pet charged as extra person if outside of a cage such as a loose dogs or cat, cats. This recoups the extra cleaning and ware-and-tare, filter changes, and washing to eliminate pet hair and dander for future guests and those I lose because they can't stay in house at same time as those with pets.
