We are located only ten minutes from Crescent City and twenty minutes from Brookings, Oregon in a friendly farming community. Peace and tranquility abound on our pleasant 2 acre abode. The Blue Ocean Mist room is decorated in lovely blue and white tones that match the sound of the sea distantly audible. The two beds in this room will accommodate up to three; one bed is an old fashioned iron twin bed and the other is an expandable trundle bed which pulls to a full size bed. Guest AccessOur home is inviting and we offer two rooms (listed separately) with comfortable beds, a twin and a trundle in one room and a full in the other. The rooms are comfortable and homey but nothing fancy. You are welcome to spend time feeding or playing with our animals which include chickens, dwarf and lion-head bunnies, goats, and two silly and affectionate doggies. You are provided limited kitchen access to heat any left over goodies from nearby or in town restaurants or enjoy a cup of tea while sitting on the porch swing of the large shaded front lawn. The bathroom is shared but if you are the only guest, you will have sole access to the bathroom. In the morning, help yourself to a light self-serve breakfast including fresh hardboiled eggs from our chickens, bagels, cereal, and coffee. Take a leisurely stroll through our pasture to see our goats or sit and relax in our gazebo as our rabbits meander about the garden and nearby pond. We truly enjoy sharing our home and this beautiful area with you and we hope you will enjoy your stay! Interaction with GuestsWe are most often present during your stay. Our living quarters and Ed's office are in the upstairs of the home so you'll have a good deal of privacy. The SpaceA full-size bed in a private room in a cute little cottage at the end of a quiet street, just two miles from the ocean, the redwoods and Lake Earl. Enjoy sourdough pizza when you arrive and home-baked quick breads in the morning, all from my vegetarian kitchen. The cottage is at the end of a quiet street in an older part of town but close to the hospital and shopping. Guests share a bath and may use the kitchen and the laundry room. I enjoy entertaining, and I'm happy to share my home with you. If you want privacy, I will accommodate that. I can also offer you a complimentary tour of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park for either the tourist or the naturalist. Crescent City is surrounded on all sides by some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the state, including the ocean, the redwoods, the largest lagoon in the state (Lake Earl) and one of the last natural, unobstructed rivers left in California (Smith River). I do have cats, but they are kept out of the guest room. You are welcome to smoke outside. Finally, please note that the cleaning fee is actually the Del Norte County transient tax that I am required to collect. Guest AccessMy home is your home. You have access to the entire house and spacious yard and gardens. Interaction with GuestsI like to give my guests as much privacy as they desire, although I join guests for sourdough pizza. In the mornings I prepare a light breakfast for you, but I do my morning work in my room to leave you to consider the day ahead. The NeighborhoodMy house is at the very end of the street overlooking a wooded ravine. It is very quiet and private, yet within walking distance of shopping and the hospital.

The SpaceOur location is what makes us unique, near Beaches, Brother Jonathan Park, Baseball and Skateboard parks. Lighthouse, Pier and Harbor all within a short walking distance. The house is quaint, comfortable and humble with two bedrooms, and a bathroom. There is a fenced private patio/yard that is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening. Small pets accepted with pre-approval. House not suitable for toddlers or young children. Guest AccessWasher/Dryer, patio/yard, Wifi, Cable TV, dishwasher and all other house amenities including recycling. The garage is not available for guests at this time. Interaction with GuestsAs this is a stand alone house, the only interaction I should have with the guests is in the booking process, prior to stay or for questions. I do like contact and send detailed information on the area and the house through emails. We have an onsite manager available if there are any questions or problems. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is single home residential. We are in a perfect central location. 3 short blocks to the ocean in one direction, and 6 blocks to the pedestrian fishing pier on the harbor in the other and Battery Point Lighthouse. Short walking distance to downtown. Crescent City is a working class town. If one is looking for or expecting a Santa Barbara/Monterey type resort town they will be disappointed with the north coast. But if you are looking for spectacular scenery, amazing hiking in ancient forests, laid back setting, then this is for you. Getting AroundTaxis are available as is the Redwood Transit Bus for the city. Other Things to NoteThe second bedroom is the larger of the two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a full/double size bed.

The SpaceThis is a vacation rental that was formerly our own home until we outgrew it. It is an older home that has recently undergone some remodeling, expanding most all the rooms and updating a lot of the house (there's now a dishwasher, too!), and now making even better use of the spectacular ocean view. Lower winter rate in effect starts in the later fall. It is right on the ocean, overlooking Pebble Beach in Crescent City (far northern California, near the Oregon border) with great views, and located by Redwood National Parks (within about 10 minutes or so, in several directions). There is a main house with 2 bedrooms (1 master bedroom with a queen bed, and one smaller bedroom with a queen bed and an older pullout sofa sleeper that is twin-sized & better for kids than adults) and there are 2 bathrooms. The living room also contains a double-sized futon, a new single-sized futon, and an old sofa sleeper pullout bed (preferable for kids rather than adults). Absolutely NO pets and no smoking allowed. There will also now be a modest cleaning fee, unless you wish to clean it up ready for the next guests yourselves...then let us know. There is also an upstairs separate studio apartment (above the garage, not above the main house) that can be added on to the house ($90 extra/winter rate, $95 in summer) for another queen bed and a twin-sized day-bed, plus an extra mattress if needed, with a great ocean view and a deck out in front. The upstairs can also be rented alone if a small space is preferred--probably recommended (with set up) for about 2 to 3 guests. (In other words, the upstairs and downstairs are separately rented and can have separate entrances and parking areas--the upstairs-only parking and entrance are from the back of the house--and the two separate floors may on occasion be rented to two separate guests on any given night. There is a locking door between the main house and the stairwell to the upstairs, which can be unlocked if someone rents both floors.) Also, breakfast is not furnished as part of this vacation rental. We are just a few minutes (like 5 minutes) from most everything in Crescent City (stores, restaurants, airport, theater, etc.). This is a very safe and lovely area, and there are stairs right down to the beach, just across from the house. Thank you. Guest AccessThere is a shared washer/dryer area in the garage for both the main house guests and the upstairs apartment guests, as well as for the owner to utilize. The backyard is also a shared area. Please don't block the alleyway going from front to back of the property. Interaction with GuestsWe live a few miles away and can usually be reached if needed. If we are not in town we are normally reachable by call or text message, or will try to check our email messages as traveling allows. The NeighborhoodThis is in a lovely neighborhood overlooking the ocean, and yet has a semi-rural or small-town feeling to it...
