The SpaceOur 110 year old home, is nestled in the Allegheny Mountains in the town of Cresson. We are only 6 miles from St. Francis University in Loretto, 1 mile from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson and 1 hour drive from Penn State University in State College. We are located on the mountain summit so there is no need to travel down the mountain to Altoona or Holidaysburg. We have 3 rooms available for overnight stays on our 3rd floor. This room includes, one full size bed. The maximum occupancy per room is 2 people. Each room has a fireplace and offers lots of vintage charm and every convenience and comfort. This is perfect for family or couples traveling with friends as the clean and lovely bathroom is shared in the hallway. Guest check-in is after 3PM, with check-out prior to 11AM. However, if you require alternative times, please contact and we will make every effort to accommodate your request. If you arrive 8PM or later, please notify so we can meet and greet you and make you comfortable. Guest AccessA continental breakfast is served each morning from 6-10am., after which, an large enclosed, sunny and temperature controlled porch area is available for visiting and the 3rd floor remains private for you. We offer WI-FI for your convenience and so we recommend you bring cell phones and computers with you (there are no T.V.s in the rooms). We also offer you a variety of current magazines for your enjoyment. Interaction with GuestsWe are a retired Air Force couple whose children are grown and no longer living at home. We are a friendly, christian couple that enjoys offering the hospitality of our home and meeting new people. We strive to make your stay with us both memorable and enjoyable and leave feeling as if you have made new friends. We want to spoil you! The NeighborhoodParents of students in college like to visit us for both convenience of location and our beautiful home, which we tastefully decorate for all seasons. Couples also stay to attend sports events in our local area, as well as, many sports events at the Penn State games! We host people attending weddings, funerals, and family re-unions and so we hope you will consider us for you next stay! Getting AroundWe are walking distance to 3 pizza restaurants, 2 family restaurants and just a skip to an Irish Pub. Also close are 2 Catholic Churches and 2 Protestant Churches. While here, consider visiting the beautiful Loretto Gardens, owned by the Franciscan Friars at no cost to you! It is worth the visit! Also within walking distance is the train railway where you can sit on a bench and watch the trains at the 1941 PRR N5C cabin car. Just down the street from that is a refurbished train car, turned ice cream caboose that serves up yummy treats with seating picnic style under a pavilion. If you are in need of a hair salon, we have one to recommend here in town!
