The SpaceMy house is in Finsbury Park, North London (the neighbourhood is called Stroud Green). It's a safe and attractive residential area of Victorian terraced houses and tree-lined streets, popular with young families. With great transport links, it's extremely easy to get to central London from here. The underground from Finsbury Park (a ten minute walk away) will get you to Kings Cross (a major transport hub) in ten minutes and to the West End (Oxford Circus, Covent Garden etc) in about fifteen to twenty minutes. There's also an overground station a few minutes from the house that will take you west and east. Stroud Green has become increasingly popular in recent years. The area just keeps getting better, with more and more restaurants and bars opening up. We have the first class new Park Theatre, one of North London's best pubs, the Faltering Fallback (Monday is pub quiz night), and several organic foodshops and delis. Favourite restaurants include the fabulous Season, the tapas bar Fabrica and great neighbourhood Italian Osteria Tufo. People seem to really enjoy staying here. Please will you send me a message, with a bit about yourself and why you're visiting London, before submitting a reservation request. This is a three bedroom house and I also let out the third room, so there may be someone else staying here during your stay. When you write to me, tell me if that is a consideration and I can clarify. I'm very careful about who I have to stay here and both rooms have keys. The bathroom is shared. YOUR SPACE The room has a double bed, a desk and a rail to hang your clothes. Towels are provided. Although this is a quiet neighbourhood, there is a school across the road, and during term time you can hear children playing in their break time, and in the early evenings and at weekends, adults playing football. Guest AccessGuests can use the large kitchen/dining room which opens out onto the garden. The bathroom has a shower and tub and has recently been re-tiled. A side gate gives access to the garden - if you have a bike, I can give you a key. Interaction with GuestsI work from home so will be generally around if you need anything. I'm a native Londoner and know the city well. Because I work from home, if you plan to be around a lot during the day, please make that clear when you message me. The NeighborhoodIn recent years, my area Stroud Green, has come to rival its better known neighbour Crouch End. We have a fantastic new theatre, Park Theatre, a seriously good restaurant, Season, and one of the best pubs in North London, the Faltering Fullback. Getting AroundTUBE: Finsbury Park tube station, a 10 minute walk away, is on the Victoria and Piccadilly Lines. If you have any questions, please contact me. IMPORTANT: ***My listing is aimed purely for fellow travellers visiting London from abroad*** ***I will not accept under 25 year olds visiting London for music festivals, or clubbing, unless you can prove to me that you are of a good character. (i.e. can provide references)*** Like in most properties in England, there is no lift, so guests must be able to climb stairs. For this reason my flat is not suitable for babies, toddlers or the elderly. My flat is not available for same-day and next-day bookings. This is because I work full-time, and need enough notice to get the place ready, and to be able to organise the Check In. I am listing this same property as a private room, or entire place. Please, note that it affects the calendar's availability. Airbnb users without a proper full profile should tell me who they are. I need to feel comfortable with the people who stay in my apartment. It is always polite to introduce yourself. There are a few things I will need to know to help me prepare for your arrival. This will also speed up the enquiry process. What time do you plan on arriving? Have you visited this neighbourhood before? Are you travelling for work or holiday? Are you travelling with anyone? I generally host only guests who are visiting London for a short period, and are in need of a temporary accommodation, usually for a week or two. A FEW TIPS FOR NEW AIRBNB USERS WITH NO, OR VERY FEW REVIEWS: People with full profiles (including photos and verifications) will get preference. Bear in mind that you are booking someone's home, not a hotel room, so please do introduce yourselves. I welcome holiday makers and travellers from all over the world who understand and appreciate what Airbnb is about. If you are new to Airbnb, I am happy to help. To help me to prepare for your arrival, please let me know: Are you travelling for work or holiday? What time do you plan on arriving? Are you travelling with someone? Have you visited this neighbourhood before? I am unable to take bookings months in advance, and I usually also need a few days to get the place ready for guests. Looking forward to hear from you! ...

The SpaceLOCATION The house is in Finsbury Park, North London (or more specifically Stroud Green). It's a safe and attractive residential area of Victorian terraced houses and tree-lined streets, popular with young families and media types. Finsbury Park sits between charming, village-like Crouch End to the north, and vibrant, trendy Islington to the south. Both are great for bars and restaurants, clothes shops and exploring. This is a residential neighbourhood not a tourist area, but still very convenient for central London. The underground from Finsbury Park (a ten minute walk away) will get you to Kings Cross (a major transport hub) in less than ten minutes and to the West End (Oxford Circus, Covent Garden etc) in about fifteen minutes. There's also an overground station a couple of minutes from the house that will take you west and east. There's also plenty going on around here. The Stroud Green Road (my local high street) has lots of shops and restaurants, including the fabulous Season and vegetarian Indian Jai Krishna. There's the first class new Park Theatre, and one of North London's best pubs, the Faltering Fallback (Monday is pub quiz night). There is a good supermarket a few minutes away to buy groceries. Parkland Walk, a stretch of countryside in the city on the site of an old railway line, is five minutes away. It runs from Finsbury Park to the south and to Highgate Woods to the north (both also good for walks). You can get to Hampstead Heath from Crouch Hill overground. My house is on a corner, so semi-detached. I'm opposite the playground of a secondary school, so in term-time you can hear children playing during breaks and in the evening, groups of adults playing football. As well as renting out the whole house when I'm traveling, I also regularly host Airbnb guests in my spare rooms. As you can see from my individual room reviews, people seem to really enjoy staying here. Guest AccessTHE SPACE There are three bedrooms. The main front bedroom has a king sized bed with a new memory foam mattress, the other two are both good sized doubles with comfortable beds. One has a desk and can also be used as a study. The eat-in kitchen has oak worktops, a new gas cooker with a double oven, a dishwasher, washing machine and a dining table. Doors lead onto an exquisite small garden with a brick patio, a table to eat out when the weather's good and a day bed for relaxing. The sitting room is two rooms knocked through with an oak parquet floor a bay window at the front, and a table which can be extended to seat 12. There is a smart TV, with BBC iPlayer and access to Netflix, and a DVD player. I had the whole house repainted last year in soft colours. And the bathroom, which has a tub and a shower fitting, was re-tiled. A side gate gives access to the garden - if you have bikes, I can give you a key. There's also wifi and a, slightly out of tune, piano. I've recently moved back here after several years living abroad, so the house is wonderfully clutter-free. There will be space for your clothes in the cupboard in the main bedroom, and the chest of drawers, desk and clothes rails in the second and third bedrooms. Interaction with GuestsYou will have the house to yourselves, but either I, or someone local, will be easily contactable should you need anything. The Neighborhood Crouch End, a fifteen minute walk or short bus journey over the hill, has dozens of restaurants, cafes and shops. Popular with families and celebrities - it's rumoured Bob Dylan nearly bought a house there - it is a lovely London "village", and a great place to explore. Getting AroundTRANSPORT TUBE: Finsbury Park tube station, an 8-10 minute walk away, is on the Victoria and Piccadilly Lines. The Victoria line will take you to Kings Cross, Oxford Circus, Victoria and south to Brixton. The Piccadilly line passes through Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus and on to west London. Both lines have easy connections to all parts of the city. OVERGROUND: Crouch Hill, about three minutes away, is a stop on the overground network, which includes routes to Hampstead Heath, Kew and Richmond to the west, and Hackney and Stratford to the east. BUSES: Finsbury Park has a major bus stations, with routes in all directions, including Islington, Stoke Newington and Hackney, the West End and the City. You can catch buses north to Crouch End and Highgate from round the corner. AIRPORTS: The Piccadilly line will take you direct to Heathrow. The Victoria line will take you to Victoria station where you can catch the express train to Gatwick. The Victoria line will also take you to Tottenham Hale where you can catch a train to Stansted.
