The SpaceTHE CAMP AT FALLING WATERS located in the Township of Crown Point NY is a three season camp on a private road with 115 feet of private water frontage on Putnam Creek. Putnam Creek has white waters running over large boulders that can be walked on. There is a back view from the screened in porch of a 30 foot waterfall that creates a constant sound of moving water to fall asleep to at night. There is one bedroom with a full size bed and a single bed in the great room. A sleeper couch is on the porch for summer or additional sleeping space. The kitchen has a new electric stove and a refrigerator. It is complete with coffee maker, microwave, needed dishes and cooking utensils. The bathroom has shower, sink and an electric toilet (instructions will be given on how to operate). The great room has a wood stove (only heat source) and a ceiling fan (only cooling available). Picnic table outside in full view of the water. In addition to the sleeper couch on the large screened in porch, there is another small table for eating, a swing chair and access to the small deck which overlooks the yard and Putnam Creek. The camp is decorated in a wolf and Native American Indian theme but the true treasure here is the natural beauty of the environment as it sits among glacier rocks in the Adirondack Park. It is rather hard to describe the experience. The camp is not an isolated back woods cabin but there are plenty of trees on the property and between neighbors in an old, historic town that has never grown up. You can actually, barely, see the paved road that runs along the other side of the creek. When you get back on the near by paved roads your cell phone service usually returns. Interaction with GuestsSince the camp is down a private road and has a shared driveway it is almost impossible to find. You will need to meet at my Property Manager on Lake Road, about 2 miles before my camp. I will text you the address & phone number (to avoid AirBnB auto deleting). The Property Manager will escort you in, give you a key and an overview of the incinerating toilet. You can just leave the key inside and lock the door when you check-out. Please let me know when you plan on arriving so I can coordinate this as soon as possible. The NeighborhoodThere is a camp on both sides of my camp that have an easement through my property but is actually their driveway. One is usually occupied most of the summer and the one above the falls I've never seen people at. Across the creek is the paved road, on the other side of some trees, and a couple houses on that road in the distance. There is usually some kind of cell coverage on that road. Kind of hard to describe little spot but for the most part it feels country and secluded; very quiet any time I have been there. Getting AroundAMTRAK stops at Ticonderoga, NY which is 10 miles from the camp. Adironcak Cab Co 14 Mount Hope Ave, Ticonderoga, NY (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Other Things to NoteThere is also a town maintained spring at the property manager's place. The water at my camp is pumped in from the creek and is not potable. The Property Manager should have some wood you can purchase for the outside fire pit. Please ask where you can get hardwood for the indoor stove so it doesn't clog up the chimney. It is also best not to use newspaper that has colors for any indoor fire starting. The most important thing to remember is the toilet always needs a paper lining (provided) put in it BEFORE EVERY USE, male or female / liquid or solid. Then check to make sure the paper dropped below before pushing the incinerating button. The toilet must have the paper to burn or it will burn itself out and have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair. The directions are posted in the bathroom.

All rooms have private bath; we also have a game room, kitchen, formal dining room and wrap around porch, all on 20 acres of meadows and woods that are ideal for trail running or just roaming. Rates include cleaning (but you must request daily cleaning if desired). Manager is on-site daily. The Lake Champlain region of the Adirondacks is a four-season paradise for cyclists, hikers, kayakers, skiers, fishermen, photographers and anyone who enjoys the seasons. Port Henry, Mineville and Witherbee are rich in history -- this was the first large iron-mining region of the United States, and evidence of the mines is still present, especially in Witherbee and Mineville. If you like to cycle to waterfalls and ponds, or through rolling countryside, we can show you where to go. And we have big plans for the future, including an expansion of our facilities and farm-to-table cuisine. In short, a "Velo Inn." route maps that can be uploaded to your cellphone;

Lake Champlain- - 20 minutes to Middlebury-- A cute, 2 bedroom sweet, colorful happy cottage full of books and art and sanity. NO T.V. - ORGANIC soap, shampoo, dishwashing liquid-- ONLY. gas fireplace, slate beach, stunning mountain sunsets, -- solitude...breath-taking star gazing, as this is one of the darkest areas in the Northern Hemisphere of the USA!- so say professional photographers who come here to photo shoot@ .canoe, flat bottom boat, kayak. - wireless, of course. full kitchen, everything you need including spices and Olive oil. Great for doggies!!! (I've signed up for automatic payment because that suits some people, but really like to chat with you over the phone beforehand and also happy with a check in the mail) But listen, no smokers. Even if you don't smoke inside, it's on your clothes, coming out of your pores... have to launder everything. sorry.... -- Private country road which dead ends... so no cars. Just off Vermont Bike touring route. The lake has weeds, not good swimming, but floating, boating, fishing is amazing. beautiful drive to Middlebury- galleries, college, bistros- not to mention TENNIS COURTS, both at the Middlebury Recreation Center, and Middlebury College! - waterfalls, hiking, Revolutionary forts across the bridge in NY State..plenty to do but this is a place most people don't want to leave. Finish your novel here, or start one. lake breeze keeps the bugs at bay. it's a fascinating slate beach for beachcombing- fossils, arrowheads..lots of firewood for big fires on the beach! - Doggies LOVE this place.!!! Cozy furniture, great deck to grill and sit and eat and watch the mountains and the lake. Designed for romantics, bohemians, artists, bibliophiles, meditators with champagne glasses. I am a writer and this place is quiet. i mean, quiet, except for the birds. And, as a native Vermonter, I can give you plenty of tips on where to go that others may not know about. This place loves to be full of life as it should be, and also has a special feeling to it. Maybe it's because the lake, so active, so changeable, is right at your door. And of course, it's Vermont. Uptight people, or those that like to think inside the box, will NOT like this cottage. It's funky, artsy, colorful, eclectic. If there is a cobweb in the corner, say hello to the spider. It's a cottage on a lake- with loons, and eagles and foxes and, up the road - some cows!-- The wind blows through the windows, and in ten minutes there might be a bit of dust on the table. It is not a hermetically sealed tomb- you must go to The Marriott for that... Silent night: Most places, you hear distant traffic, or some kind of man-made noise, a dull vibrating hum, so that although you feel like you are really in the country, you aren't. This is the country. You hear the wind, the crickets, the birds, the squirrels, a fish jumping, and the achingly beautiful train whistle moaning across the lake. It's amazing to sit on the deck and watch the geese and the sunset and hear yourself breathing. Martini on the deck, reading Thomas Merton or Henry Miller, the lovely viewing of sailboats drifting by and bird watching is spectacular. Two bald eagles nest nearby! quiet fishing at an great inlet across the lake. This part of the lake hasn't many cottages on it, you look North and see only trees for a couple of miles, so you don't feel like other people are breathing down your neck. There are two neighbors hidden away up the road if you need to borrow a cup of sugar, but you would never know they're there and a cottage up the hill. Apple and berry picking in the late summer and fall. I know where the private swimming holes are up in the mountains if it gets really hot. Also a terrific river falls near Middlebury. -- Once in a while, a GREAT while, very rarely, but I want to mention it- a field mouse gets in the house -You can't keep them out all the time... period. Not in the fields of Vermont. ( I have some tiny electric things in the wall that emit a sound they hate. seems to be working--- )AND three times a year the farmers up the road spread manure on the fields. I can't prevent this either. Bridport, VT is a rural farm community. You won't be happy here if this bothers you. You WILL be happy here if you love to hike, canoe, bird watch, bike, sit and watch the sunset, play scrabble, read, write, cook, grill, take little day trips to Vermont towns, tour micro-breweries, sleep, have fires on the beach, build slate castles, do art, walk, talk to chipmunks. -- ***** Oh, please call me or e-mail directly. I like to chat a bit with potential guests so that I can answer questions in a more personal way!! I want everyone to be happy, to be thrilled!@!

Book filled, wildly romantic studio/one bedroom with gas Fireplace, full kitchen, covered deck, - funky and fantastic - with a canoe for two. Organic soap, shampoo and dishwashing liquid ONLY-!! Dr. Bonners provided. To SAVE the LAKE. The cottage is so close to the lake, with no place for good drainage.. so, as we say, if it's yellow let it mellow.... if this bothers you at all, if you really like to use lots and lots water, not a good place for you! but it's lovely! On a quiet dead end lake front road, no traffic, just the sounds of the waves, the birds, a train whistle across the lake. Great retreat to finish your novel or kiss and make-up. You must be immodest!!- there is a heavy curtain and not a door as you enter la toilette. Doggies LOVE it. Plenty of squirrels to chase and no cars. Long walks in the farm fields or the near by trails up to gorgeous views of the Adirondacks. There is a covered porch, and a winding path down to a look out directly over the lake. Fires on the beach are the best, with a slate fireplace, - and plenty of beautiful smooth slate to design your own. When I come back to visit there are often beautiful sculptures make of rocks. Now, the clawfoot tub is in the corner of the living room behind a Thai Screen- with a shower, yes-- so you can take a wonderful tub and look out at the lake and talk to your beloved who is cooking you dinner or grilling outside. The mosquitos don't like the wind from the lake, so it isn't bad with a little DEET on your pants. Every night there is a spectacular sunset, varied, intense, mind blowing. I ask that guests brings towels and double bed sheets. No laundry in Bridport- and the cleaning person balks at the task. If you're flying in, can make arrangements. Yes, there is wireless, who can do without it? but NO TV. Huge selection of books you meant to read last year. Great fishing, perch and bass. Let me mention that the mattress is firm!

Cute efficiency, 1-bath lakefront cottage on beautiful Lake Champlain in Bridport, VT located in the heart of the Lake Champlain Valley near Middlebury (11miles) about half way between Burlington and Rutland. Cedar sits perched directly on the lake on a dead-end road with no through traffic so is very private. Enjoy the spacious deck that sits 16’ above the lake providing spectacular views of Champlain and the Adirondack mountains. This small and quaint cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or a terrific base for road biking with routes directly from the cottage through the rolling hills, corn fields and farmland of one of the most beautiful areas in the Lake Champlain Valley which many feel rivals the beauty of Tuscany. In the summer months enjoy farmer's markets in nearly every nearby town (the kitchen has everything you need to create a gourmet meal) or explore the abundance of craft breweries in this area of Vermont. The charming towns of Bristol (14 miles) and Middlebury (11 miles) both have excellent restaurant, bakery and pub options. Full kitchen, WiFi, bath with shower, flat screen TV, queen bed, and extra futon. Outside propane grill, screened-in porch attached to camp, and additional large deck down the wooden walkway, which overlooks the lake include plenty of outdoor seating. There is also a campfire ring by the camp for toasting s'mores (wood can be purchased locally by the bundle). Boating, Bass and Perch Fishing is terrific. Bikes and two row boats are available for your use! There is swimming out away from the beach (we get in off the rowboat). There can be weeds on the shoreline in summer so it is not great swimming for children. Best for 2 adults who want a quiet getaway with beautiful views, boating, fishing, biking and exploring. Local activities include biking, hiking, fishing, boating, sailing, antiquing, golfing or visiting many historic places in VT , Adirondacks of New York and the great breweries nearby. Middlebury College has a terrific Museum of Art. For activities including music venues on Lake Champlain & near Middlebury, use "learn more" links at top of regional pages or look online.
