The SpaceWe specialize in helping couples unplug and escape the stresses of modern life in our romantic and historic one-room cottage in the heart of Virginia's wine country.
Beautifully renovated in 2012, with a Queen bed and working fireplace, 22 totally private and peaceful acres with walking trails, benches and two bridges and a gorgeous in-ground pool overlooking rolling acres and a pretty small creek. Relax with spa products in the private bath with its antique claw-footed tub and hand-held shower attachment.
We provide welcome snacks, a bottle of complimentary wine (or beer), a mini-fridge stocked with self-serve breakfast items and freshly baked goodies, and a Keurig coffeemaker. I have been known to provide bedtime treats as well!
The Cottage is located an easy 20-minute drive from UVA and downtown Charlottesville with its upscale boutiques and restaurants, as well as the Presidents' homes, Monticello and Ash Lawn Highland. It's even closer to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking, and is surrounded by award-winning wineries such as Pippin Hill, King Family, Pollack, Veritas and White Hall, among many (website hidden) lovers may explore some very special local breweries.
Nearby Crozet has world-famous pizza and a few fine dining options, including the well-reviewed da Luca. And the neighborhood hangout, The Batesville Market in Batesville, offers a cool vibe and great music on weekends! Guest AccessPrivate porch, gorgeous outdoor pool, pool floats and deck chairs, poolside table and umbrella for al fresco dining. May store food in pool house fridge during the summer, but we are a B&B, not a vacation rental--there is no cooking on premises.
We try to give our guests privacy when they use the pool., but reserve the right to use it in hot weather and to frisbee our dog, Joe, from the hill twice a day.
In chilly weather, Guests receive logs for the cozy fireplace daily and may enjoy the fire pit, weather permitting! Interaction with GuestsAs much as they prefer-- most of our guests come for peace and quiet and to relax. We are sensitive to their need for privacy, and do not intrude, but are delighted to share our knowledge of the area. The NeighborhoodThis place is so very peaceful and beautiful, so serene. And yet Crozet Pizza, touted by Food andWine magazine (as well as several other well-reviewed restaurants), is 12 minutes away! Getting AroundYou need a car--in winter, you need an SUV or 4-wheel drive. Other Things to NoteThis area is gorgeous--so close to the vineyards, hiking, and an easy drive to town!
