I don't know how my husband and I were so lucky to find this place to stay? Our host, Ron, was absolutely incredible!! Talk about a host that will go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The house is beautiful and perfect in every way; very easy to get to and yet very quiet--- just what we were looking for!! Custer was a great location to stay as we spent time on the Mikkelson trail (it goes right by the house), we climbed Harney Peak (which can be seen from the front door, many other attractions are close by, including: Crazy Horse, Sylvan Lake, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park (with the buffalo and burros!), Mt. Rushmore--- well, the list goes on and on. We will definitely be back!! Chuck
Absolutely the BEST! Ron is a gracious host, and the accommodations are Top Notch! Katherine
We had a very good stay at Custer. The house is huge, beautifully designed and well decorated in an upscale midwest style. We took advantage of the steam room and the hot tub.... and the well furnished bar ! Which that always feels good after a good hike. The house is located right on the Mickelson trail and Ron encouraged us to use their bikes. . . . most fun on our trip!
When we arrived we asked where the grocery store was and urged not to buy too much because they had a big party the date before and this how we end-up eating a Buffalo burger cooked with style by Ron.
Definitely a good place to stay especially for those who appreciate meeting new people. Valerie
Ron is a very generous and friendly host, with a beautiful house and a nice room. He gave us lots of great ideas on what to do in the area, welcomed us to take advantage of their awesome house, and shared his life with us. David
This was an amazing place to stay! Ron was a great host! The room was extremely comfortable and Ron made us feel at home, offering us use of the steam room and bikes. We would definitely stay here again! Nathan
Words cannot describe how accommodating Ron is and how easily he shared all of the amazing amenities with us as a part of our stay. The depth and breadth of things to do here was shared with pride as Ron provided bicycles, a hot tub, steam room, custom T bird cruise, hospitable bar and fabulous company. No doubt our first choice when we return to Custer again. Thanks! Alexa
Ron is the best! You could not ask for a better host, or a nicer place to stay on vacation! We didn't want to leave. The house is so cool, the hot tub was just like being home. I have already told at least 50 people how nice it was, and that they should try to stay for a week or two. I know we'll be back. The location is perfect, we could go on day trips, and still be close to everything we wanted to see and do. Ron helped a lot letting us know the best way to our day trip locations. Jason and Donna
This is a beautiful place with excellent accomodations. Our host was very helpful, from having coffee in the morning to suggesting places to visit in the area. We truely had complete access a wonderful home. Very highly recommended. Dave
We recently spent two nights at Ron's beautiful home in Custer. Ron was a FANTASTIC host - very welcoming and accommodating. We arrived late our first night after a very long day on the road. He welcomed us and our big friendly dog into his wonderful home and invited us into his fabulous bar for a few cold beers and glass of wine!
Ron's home has is all - wonderful bedroom and bathroom, full kitchen, hot tub, pool table, and much much more.
When my wife wasn't feeling up to going out to dinner our second night Ron even offered to cook us up THE BEST buffalo burgers. It was a real treat and extremely thoughtful and generous of him.
Ron is a third generation resident of the area and provided us with great suggestions for our full day of touring in the Custer/Black Hills area - seeing Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and much more. The region is truly beautiful with very inviting shops and restaurants and even wineries! The scenery and wildlife are wonderful and of course Mt. Rushmore is a must see.
The region is certainly worth a nice long visit as there is much to see and the Play and Stay in Custer is a perfect place to stay. We certainly hope to be back! Doug
