The SpaceWe have one unattractive side-yard. There are a couple of piles of concrete in the yard and the grass is gone after a digging wall-fixing project. Though the entrance isn't pretty, from the main and top floors it isn't seen. There are also a few deck boards on the back deck that need replacement, and we have noted those for your safety.
There are 4 queen-size beds, 1 double, 4 singles. The queen beds each have a down blanket as well as quilt for a lighter cover. The smaller beds have wool blankets available if needed. Here's some info for assigning rooms.
· top-floor big bedroom: This has a queen bed (moderately firm) thick curtains and a door to deck. It will get moderate light in the morning. There's a baby crib stored in the closet.
· top-floor small bedroom: Just across the hall, with shared bathroom, is a room with two twin beds (firm), a single-size trundle bed in the closet, and a loft. It's often used for kids and is very sunny in the morning. Good for early risers, but throw some heavier covers on the windows if needed for sleeping in.
· mid-floor bedroom: This has a queen-size (softer mattress) and is a darker cooler room that has darker curtains, good for sleeping in.
· living room futon: This queen-size bed (firm mattress) has less privacy, as this bed folds up to become the main sofa.
· basement: This room has a picture window to the outside, as it's on a hill, so it doesn't feel so basement-like. It has a queen bed (semi-firm), a trundle double-bed size (soft mattress) that may be folded if not needed, and a twin bed (firm). The basement room is a space that contains some tidily-stored personal items of the owners, as well as an adjacent kitchenette laundry room. Persons in this room would share the mid-floor bathroom and sleeps five persons. The single-size trundle could be brought down here if preferred. It stays cool in the summer(URL HIDDEN)Some larger groups have brought sleeping matts and used the ample floor space in the living room.

Health and Comfort Information
An organic grocery and café is 15 minutes away. The local hospital is also 15 minutes away. As a point of interest for those with chemical sensitivities, only biodegradable and natural cleaning products and paints are used on the premises. As an allergy alert, the premises are often occupied by cats inside and dogs in the yard outside. Most of the house is not wheelchair accessible.
Warning: To avoid altitude sickness, abstain from heavy drinking and stay well hydrated. Consult your physician if you are planning extended strenuous physical activity but are not used to high altitude. Those aged or asthmatic should consider avoiding strenuous physical activity.
Disclaimers:(URL HIDDEN)The basement "bedroom" and laundry room with kitchenette contains some tidily stored personal belongings. It is our crash-pad at times, though we're primarily living elsewhere.(URL HIDDEN)The house is on a hillside on three levels. It's not wheelchair friendly(URL HIDDEN)The well water has been tested and is fine to drink, but we prefer the taste of the alternative drinking water we provide. The toilets are cleaned after each rental, but our water has a lot of iron oxide in it that stains a rust color. Bleach doesn't get it out. We occasionally do a scouring of shower tiles, but at times the tint builds up. A few of the lighter sheets have rust color stains, but are always laundered between guests.(URL HIDDEN)If you need a place where everything looks new, this place might not please you. We consider it as having a rustic charm and we prefer an uncluttered minimalist look. We don't mow the lawn because we like it looking like a meadow. The house has a landline phone with a long distance calling card. Mobile phones won't have coverage at the house, but with an 8-minute drive Verizon service can be accessed.
Help yourself to coffee, tea, creamer, breakfast foods, dried or fresh fruit, and condiments. The main-floor fridge is kept empty for guest use, but the base-level mini-fridge will have a few items specifically for you. The kitchen will not be fully stocked, so please bring with you lunch and dinner provisions if eating in. If you use the indoor grill, please clean it afterward or we will request $75 of the deposit charge. It's a chore.
Security of valuables: If you have concern about valuables, keeping them in your vehicle will alleviate your concerns. You may lock up the house from the base-level entry. Interaction with GuestsWe may need you to let yourself in (see location directions), or if we are in the area and know of your general arrival time, we might be available to greet you and show you around. We are a phone call away if you need assistance. We will be at another residence during guest rentals, unless we specifically discuss at the outset of your request that we'll be needing the base-level semi-separate space during your visit. If that is the case, we would tend to allow you the benefit of less interaction unless you invite more. We enjoy meeting and conversing with guests, but we understand that many who travel are seeking quiet and privacy. Roads are plowed at least daily in snowy weather, so constant road access is maintained. A neighbor is paid to plow the driveway when needed, and for heavy snow chores, we'll come assist. No public transit. Other Things to NoteYou may bring dogs or cats if house-trained. There is a gated area for dogs, but cats and small dogs should remain inside or accompanied outdoors for their safety.
