The SpaceThe Lakeview is a lakeside cottage located on the second floor of the historic Lodge of Ackers Point Resort, which first opened in 1891. This unit hosts a wonderful bird’s eye view of Long Lake. There are two bedrooms (queen bed and two twin beds) and one bath. The screened-in porch sits so close to the water, that guests feel as though they are on the water. On a quiet evening, guests can even hear the water lapping on the lakeshore. The porch is also the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful Michigan sunset. There is a window AC unit in the main bedroom for added comfort. This petite cottage is well-suited for a small family or couples. For our spring and winter guests, this unit has baseboard heating to keep you nice and toasty.
This cottage rents by the week during the summer, from Saturday to Saturday and by the night (two night minimum) during the spring and fall.
Our Guests prefer to bring their own bedding and towels. We are happy to supply these for an extra $30/bed fee.
This is a pet-free cottage. Many of our other cottages at Ackers Point Resort are pet-friendly. Please contact us first to see if your pet falls under our Pet Guidelines.
All our cottages have kitchens equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and toaster, and include basic cooking and dining supplies.
This unit has shared access to the Resort grounds with twelve other unique cottages, and depending on the time of year, the Resort can be a bustling, friendly, summer community, or a more quiet retreat (spring and fall).
About Ackers Point Resort
Ackers Point Resort is a family-owned, family-run business that provides weekly cottage rentals. We are open from April to October. The Resort was built along the CKS (Chicago-Kalamazoo-Saginaw) railroad and opened in 1891 as a destination vacation spot, welcoming travelers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts.
The railroad no longer exists but we are still here! Generations of the same families have been returning year after year to vacation here, and that is our most cherished accomplishment. We truly treasure our guests and the summer community they help us build. With nearly six acres of land situated on a spectacular point in beautiful, quiet, Long Lake, there's plenty of natural beauty to enjoy and fantastic water views from nearly every spot on the Resort. We have 750 feet of lake frontage, so there is plenty of space for our guests to roam, swim, and play.
Each of our thirteen cottages has two bedrooms, at least one full bath, and a kitchen equipped with cooking and dining essentials. Every cottage has its own private outdoor space, (open deck, screened-in porch, or both). Our long-time guests have their favorites and many enjoy the nostalgia of sharing childhood memories of their cottage and Resort with their children. Guest AccessGuests have shared access to Resort grounds and watercraft including:

Most of our Guests come to Ackers Point Resort as a getaway place to enjoy time with their own families, which we respect. Our guests tend to be self-sufficient and very content in having their own space. That being said, we always enjoy making new friends, and are usually available for assistance or chatting. We are quite busy chasing our young children around, and are usually by the beach or working to keep this 120+ year old Resort running. Depending on the time of year of your visit, Guests will also have several other families to interact with as we have thirteen cottage rentals. Our Resort community is like a big family. The NeighborhoodLong Lake is a clear, spring-fed lake, 146 acres in size, and 48 feet deep. Because it is nestled in the valley of an old river bed, the waters are extraordinarily calm. There is a small public launch near Ackers Point, but there is relatively little boat traffic due to the proximity of other, high-traffic lakes. This lake is an all sports lake. Residents and Resort guests alike enjoy the fishing (bass, pike, bluegill, perch, crappie), kayaking, canoeing, sailing, swimming, boating, waterskiing, etc. The residents truly enjoy their community and the tranquility of their lake.
Long Lake is located very close to the towns of Hastings and Delton, making grocery and supply runs very convenient for visitors. Hastings offers a charming downtown with shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, a brewery and a number of events throughout the summer. There are also several golf courses, parks, and local attractions such as the Gilmore Car Museum for guests to explore. For those wanting to venture into “big cities”, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids are approximately 30 and 45 minutes away. Getting AroundThere is no public transit in our area.
Ackers Point Resort is located on beautiful Long Lake, just north of Cloverdale, Michigan. We sit on a six acre point of land which allows us spectacular water views from nearly any spot on the Resort. We are located just off M-43, and nestled between the major cities of Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Lansing. Other Things to NoteAckers Point Resort is about helping you to make memories filled with good old-fashioned summer fun, and relaxation. Interested in staying with us? We would love to have you.
