Legend claims that the town was so called because it harboured the relics of St. Andrew, which were brought here by a bishop, St. Rule, from Patras in Achaea. It is the birthplace of golf, and the Royal and Ancient Club, created in 1754, has been the headquarters of golf ever since. St. Andrews also has a castle and a University, which is the oldest in Scotland, founded in 1412. The College chapel contains the pulpit where John Knox preached, and in the grounds there is a thorn tree reputedly planted by Mary, Queen of Scots. The town is full of history. The Old Course St Andrews is a place of pilgrimage for golfers from all over the world, It is also the home of the British Golfing Museum. There are six golf courses sharing the promontory of links land that sticks out into the River Eden estuary immediately to the north west of St Andrews. The most famous, and sought after, is the "Old Course"; but the others are also very popular.

The cottage has modern lines - as seen in contemporary kitchens and bathrooms, with black granite worktops in the former and large profile tiling and power showers - and with all the extras you could hanker for, including flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi and iPod docking stations.” There is a courtesy tray with a selection of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. It has a full size Pool table, table tennis table, basket ball net, climbing frame with slide and bark play area with bales to clamber on. Also there is a large lawn outside the properties and private off road parking. We took inspiration for the contemporary style and finish of our Coach Houses from the Boutique style of hotel that we like to stay in and added lots of little extra touches to make our guests feel special. However we have deliberately kept some of the original features of the old building to maintain the unique character of the Coach Houses. Relax on your own private patio and soak up the views Above all else we wanted to make the Coach Houses an inviting place for you to relax and unwind in.
