The Space"It's like a vacation every day here!" is how one visitor described a stay at Rancho Tranquilico. The modern farmhouse is bright, airy and cool in Summer and warmed from a wood stove in Winter; the deck has views of magnificent sunsets all year. Spring gardens burst with blooms of rescued native wildflowers; in Fall prairie grasses and flowers tower up to eight feet tall. I grow much of my food organically in a series of garden beds and harvest strawberries, raspberries and grapes on site. I host the local bands of friends in my 130 year old barn a number of times each Summer. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to roam the first floor (excluding my office), the deck and the extensive gardens. Interaction with GuestsI have a home office so I'm around most of the time. Happy to share recommendations on restaurants, outdoor recreation and entertainment. The NeighborhoodIt's suprisingly quiet and dark here for being so close to Ann Arbor. My property is surrounded by family vegetable farms with on-site markets. There are at least half a dozen fruits grown commercially within two miles including upick blueberries and raspberries. The area's best hiking, cross country skiing, swimming, paddling (flat and flowing water), bicycling and running spots are all within a few miles as well. Plus it's just a five minute drive to Dexter, ten to Chelsea, 20 to Ann Arbor. It's the perfect location! Getting AroundParking is on site. Public transportation in Dexter to Ann Arbor. Other Things to NoteBreakfast typically consists of scratch home made whole grain pancakes and waffles with local fruit and eggs, real maple syrup, home made jam, bacon or sausage, tea. Pretty good stuff!

The SpaceSet on three acres with old-growth forest as well as sunny lawn and a private pond, our spacious and rustically-styled home is filled with leather furniture, hardwood floors, slate tile, stone, granite steps and counter tops, maple and hickory cabinetry. Gourmet kitchens, indoor gas and outdoor wood-burning fireplaces, in-floor radiant heat, several large, high-def TVs with satellite stations and blu-ray players, screened in porch, patios, and wooded walking paths. Guest AccessOur home was just completed in 2012 and includes many exceptionally comfortable features that you are welcome to use: - We live in the country -- and that means we have satellite internet with all of its many limitations (which contributes greatly to the frustration of our children). We recommend that, if possible, you bring a Verizon hotspot for internet access. We are sorry that we *cannot* provide internet access to our guests. - Kitchen: The lower-level kitchen is just down the way from your room(s) and includes a refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, and Keurig coffeemaker. We also have a natural gas grill that you can use. - Light a fire in the outdoor firepit on the edge of the pond and enjoy the lovely sound of our recirculating waterfall. We have zero-gravity chairs and a screened-in porch with its own wood-burning fireplace to relax in as well. - Get in shape with our exercise equipment (elliptical, treadmill, Bowflex Revolution weight machine, assorted free weights, inversion chair, Bosu) that we routinely put to good use early in the mornings on weekdays (note: this is just outside your rooms -- and while we try to be quiet, there will be some beeping and clanging sometimes). Country roads in the area are also lovely for running and biking. Nearby Huron River is one of the best smallmouth bass rivers in the Midwest, and kayak and canoe rentals are only a few minutes away. - Watch a movie or sporting event in our home theater with 110" screen, five reclining leather chairs and six swivel bar stools. We like to do this as well -- and you are welcome to join us when we settle in to watch the "big screen"! - We ask that guests respect the privacy of our first floor master suite and the second floor children's rooms. Interaction with GuestsWe listed our rooms on AirBnB because we love people -- especially AirBnB people! We have had such a good time meeting hosts and guests and we look forward to meeting you! We do live in our house and you should expect to see us and our dogs at least occasionally. We are pretty laid-back and want you to be comfortable so we will be happy to chat or give you your space as needed. The NeighborhoodLocated in Cobblestone Estates in Dexter, our home is in an upscale rural equestrian neighborhood with lovely dirt country roads. Our three-acre lot includes a private pond, woods, and natural lawn. There is a horse/walking path that wends its way two miles through the woods and neighbors' properties and we are centrally located between the two parts of Cobblestone Farm's cross-country eventing course which means you can often see horses and riders passing by as well as abundant wildlife (deer, herons, songbirds, squirrels, chipmunks, bullfrogs, etc.). If you happen to be here for a Cobblestone Horse Trial, we are a five-minute walk from all stabling areas. Getting AroundFree parking in the private turnaround driveway is included. Easy driving access to Dexter (5 min), Hudson Mills Metro Park (5 min), Huron River kayak/canoe rentals (10 min), Ann Arbor/University of Michigan (15-20 min), Detroit Metro Airport (1 hour), Detroit (75 min). Conveniently located for Cobblestone Farm Equestrian events, UM graduation, Ann Arbor Summer Festival, the Art Fairs in July, UM football, and many other fun sports, arts, cultural and business activities in the area. There are no real public transportation options convenient to our country home, however. Other Things to NoteOur home is quiet and most appropriate for those who have day time activities (sight-seeing, weddings, visits with relatives, business, etc.) planned while they are here. We have two medium-sized, energetic Vizsla dogs ranging in age from 8 to 10 years old. They have a dedicated dog room with dog door access to their outdoor dog run that they stay in when we are out. Please consider another place to stay if active dogs who sometimes bark are a concern for you. Also, we sometimes have our college-age daughter's French Bulldog at home as well. We live in a rural area, with very limited satellite internet access. If you would like to use the internet while you are staying with us, we recommend bringing a Verizon, TMobile, or other Hotspot (which will give you good generally 4G access) with you as we cannot provide internet access/wifi to our guests.

The SpaceTwo-story, 2400 square feet home on 3/4 acre. Just 8 miles from the University of Michigan. Ample parking. Flat screen television with Netflix streaming in the family room with fireplace as well as the living room with a pastoral scene. Wireless internet. Private bedroom. Fully-equipped kitchen. Can pick up and drop off at Detroit Airport for additional fee. A queen-sized futon is available within one of the larger bedrooms. If you require accommodation for more than two-people over a shorter period of time, please contact me to see what is available. No problem if you need something that you left behind. Most likely, I can provide that for you: tooth brush, tooth paste, nail clippers and such. I can pick you or another member up at the airport if needed. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available. I have a sweet Labrador retrievers named Ellie and her puppy sidekick, Emma. Bruiser and Skitters, our two cats, are friendly, too. A beautiful brick paved patio is available overlooking a picturesque scene for those beautiful days when you would like to eat and lounge outside. Imagine, seeing a silo and farm from the living room window, crickets in the night and the sweet fragrant air. Guest AccessAny guest will have access to wireless internet, fully equipped kitchen as well as refrigerator space. There are, also, two large flat screen smart tv's available in the home for viewing. Interaction with GuestsI try to limit my interaction with my guests to the point that I am there to provide them comfort and ease in their travels. Therefore, I am open to questions about the home or the area. I am eager to provide assistance in anyway possible. I can provide pick up, drop off transportation. This can be convenient when going to see an event at the University of Michigan. The NeighborhoodAbsolutely gorgeous. Sit on my porch and you will be surrounded by stunning homes placed on three-quarters of an acre that seemed to be placed in a meadow. Look directly across the street and you will see farm houses, silos and cow pastures. Very bucolic scene and, yet, very contemporary home. The best of both world. The air smells so sweet and in the summer evenings, you can crickets, frogs and gentle mowing. I love living here. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation out this far. The nearest bus stop is 2 miles. Bicycles can be rented in town, also. I can offer some transportation accommodations at a fee. Other Things to NoteThere is one Labrador retriever and a puppy as well as two cats living on the premises. You should not be allergic to either dogs or cats.

Camp Woodbury/The Lodge at Nordman Lake is a 150 acre camp with a private lake, a lodge building and five cabins. We can currently sleep 36 guests in the five cabins and lodge. Campsites are available for additional guests. We are allowed by local ordinances to have 60 overnight guests mixed between the cabins, lodge, tents, and RVs. The main lodge has a large room (38ft x 48ft) with two fieldstone fireplaces. The furniture can be configured any way you need during your stay. There is also a pool table, a piano, and a Hammond B3 organ. The kitchen in the lodge is effectively a commercial kitchen. The gas range has 6 burners, a griddle and a broiler along with two ovens. There is plenty of refrigeration space and a commercial dish sanitizer that does a load in 2 minutes. We have flatware and plates for about 70 people as well as all the cookware you might possibly need, including mixers, blender, food processor, etc. Available also are a large outdoor charcoal grill and a smoker. If you can't cook it in that kitchen, you can't cook it. The lodge also has a library and a small bedroom (described below). There are 5 cabins which sleep varying numbers of people depending on how many couples/singles/children there are. 36 if you use every available sleeping surface, sofa beds included. Cabins 1 and 2 are identical. each has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two twins. The twins are arranged in an upper/lower bunk configuration. Each also has a small kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. Cabin 3 has one bedroom with a Queen bed, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with shower and tub. Cabin 4 has one bedroom with a Queen bed and a sleeping loft with two twins, kitchenette, and bathroom with shower and tub. The sleeping loft is best for kids as the entrance ladder leading to it is a bit smaller than most adults want to navigate. Cabin 5 is a bedroom-only building with four bedrooms; one with a King, two with Queens and one with a bunk that has a full-size lower and twin upper. Two of these rooms are in suite configuration, sharing a bathroom. The king room has a private bathroom, and one queen room is a barrier free bedroom/bathroom. This is a bed/bath only building in that there is no common area within it, no kitchens, and each bedroom has its own private entrance. Adjoining the library in the lodge there is a bedroom with both a double bed and a twin and private bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower. Cabins 1-4 and the lodge also have one sleeper sofa each, either a queen or a double. Using the sleeper sofas in Cabin 1 and 2 does make it a little crowded in my view, but it has been done many times. The sleeper sofas in 3 and 4 are in larger spaces than in 1 and 2. Campers are welcome as well up to a total of 60 overnight guests including guests in the cabins. There will be a bathhouse (available Spring 2016) for campers' use so they don't have to use the cabins. Both bathrooms in the bathhouse are barrier-free. Nordman Lake itself is an entirely private, approximately 20-acre lake. No one else has access to it, so when staying at the property you will have complete privacy. We have rowboats, canoes and kayaks for your use as well as walking trails through the woods and fields and great fishing for Northern Pike, Bass, Crappie and Bluegill.

My place is close to I94, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, U of M Stadium, and campus. But it is not too close, so you can relax in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful deck and garden. You’ll love my place because of the very private loft suite. It is spacious and sunny. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
