Where the road stops and the Gulf of Carpentaria begins - some 70km from Normanton along the Gulf Development Road - turn right towards Karumba Point - the last cross roads before stopping at the coastline of the Gulf just look to your left - and you will see Ash's Cafe and Accommodation. Just a short walk down the road to a supermarket, Lions Park, and Karumba Point Boat Ramp and straight across the road from the Sunset Tavern - nowhere is too far for walking - cycling or however you need to travel. There is also a new walking track - about 3.5km long from Karumba Point over to Karumba town area - across the marine plains and edge of the mangroves - great for birdwatching, exercising or just relaxing.
