The spacious private bathroom has hot water and all natural products provided: soap, shampoo + conditioner made locally on Little Corn Island. Additional features include ceiling and floor fan and ample space for storage. Daily maid service, wifi connection and plant based healthy breakfast is also included during your stay. Guest AccessThe property is located on over an acre of land, situated directly in front of the beautiful pristine waters of the lagoon. Guests are encouraged to enjoy all the amenities throughout the property and to be in contact with nature as much as possible during their stay. There is a total of 8 rooms available for guests, with a maximum occupancy of 16-22 people.
The Lodge is a quiet space, perfect for those who want to unplug from it all, and reconnect with themselves and nature. Perfect for those that need to leave stress behind, eat well, rest, and treat themselves to some "me-time". It is also the perfect spot for families that want to enjoy the beauty that the Natural Reserve has to offer, in a safe space for children.
We offer lunch, snacks and dinners at an additional cost. All our meals are prepared with the freshest seasonal ingredients, locally sourced, and free from refined sugars and dairy. We can accommodate any dietary needs always within a plant based offering. We also prepare juices and smoothies, and are able to provide with full juice fasting programs if required. Please note, we do not serve alcohol at the Lodge (but we are OK if you bring your own!)
Yoga is offered daily, free of charge for our guests, and guests are welcomed to use the platform throughout the day for their own practice. We also have some beach toys to use at the lagoon and a private skate park for guest use. Interaction with GuestsI (Miriam) live in the property full time, in a separate house, with my partner Manuel and our rescued animals, Tommy the dog, and Friday and Diego the cats. We respect our guests privacy but we are always at hand to help our guests if needed. We can provide information on transport, trips, and many other things, as well as making bookings and arrangements on behalf of our guests. We want you to come as guests, but leave as friends :) The NeighborhoodApoyo Lodge is nestled in a secluded area of the Laguna de Apoyo, a protected Natural Reserve. We are very commited to protecting the environment around us, and we ask our guests to do the same. If you encounter any unwanted visitors in your room (critters, spiders, scorpions and the like, not common but possible), please do your best to free them instead of killing them. Hiking trails are available around the property and beyond.
We do not have any other facilities nearby, other than a few local houses scattered along the access road. The nearest restaurant is 2kms away, and then, 3kms after, you can find the main hub of the Laguna with a few other restaurants. Getting AroundPublic transport in the Laguna is very limited, almost non existant. The local bus leaves from the triangle (5kms away from the Lodge) 3 times per day to nearby Masaya.
The best way to get around is by 4x4, or alternatively by foot if you feel like walking around in the beautiful environment.
We can arrange for private transportation to other different destinations in Nicaragua at an additional cost, please enquire with us for details. Other Things to NotePlease bear in mind that the last 2kms to reach the lodge are on a rough road, suitable for 4x4 only driving most of the year. If you plan to drive yourself here, make sure you check with us first, and that you are comfortable with this type of driving.
Alternatively, we offer options for really reasonable rates for transfers to/from the airport and other parts of Nicaragua. We can also pick you up at the start of the rought road and bring you over the Lodge, if you make your own arrangements on a non 4x4 vehicle.
We are very proud to have a cruelty-free space, this means that we serve a strictly plant based menu (don't be scared, it is delicious!) and we do not allow guests to cook at our kitchen. If you have any food items that you want us to store for you, we will be happy to do so, as long as they are not meat or fish (we will make an exception for dairy!). You will appreciate the amazing energy that runs through the property by respecting Mother Nature and all its earthlings :)
