The Luduvina villa
has three bedrooms (two of them are open spaces) and two bathrooms.
It also has extra matress that are suitable for children (two single matress) located in the gallery, large living area of the house.
The main bathroom, extends to the outside patio.
The entrance room or hall, is very spacious and bright, it can be used as a workshop / work place or bedroom.
Guest AccessAttractions and distance
The Luduvina villa is located on the island of Chorao, outside the tourist center and away from the intensive development undergone in Goa.
An hour's drive from the Dabolim airport, the island is 8 km by 3 km and has around 8000 inhabitants. It is accessible by two ferries:
-Ribandar (Panjim side):
10 mn to cross the mandovi river, then 5 mn to reach the house by car.
-Pomburpa (Mapusa side):
1 mn to cross the river, then 3 mn to reach the house by car.
Location – neighborhood description
It can be accessed by a bridge on the east side Bicholim. The isolated nature ensures a quiet and calm (remember that the "calm" in India is different from that in Europe ...), location in Chorao, while allowing you to be at the heart of the city in 30 minutes in the cities of Panjim, Mapusa and the beaches.

•It has a equipped kitchen with a gas stove (2 gas), and dining room are located in the same space, open to the outside and extended by a terrace.
•There is also a storage room where are the pantry and the refrigerator.
•Vendors deliver fresh produce daily, (shrimp, fish, vegetables, fruits, bread...). If you put a bag on the fence and ask the bread man, you can have fresh bread every morning, at the door! for 2,5 rs each bread.
•Natacha will welcome you in the Villa Luduvina and show you how work the house.
•Luis and Maria, the neighbour, own the house with me and can tell you every thing about the secrets of Chorao Island.
•Nasima goes to clean the house once a week. IIt is aso possible for Nasima to cook you a delicious fish curry and rice (traditional Goan dish)
•Peter & Santana takes care of the garden and stewardship of the house. The NeighborhoodOn the island, is one of the last mangroves in India, it is home to the Birds Salim Ali bird Sancatuary, named after the renowned ornithologist of India.
On Pomburba side, once you cross the ferry, little further on the left, take the first right and discover the lovely and peacefull Pomburpa spring. Prefer in week time than week end (less people) and enjoy the fresh spring water! There is a nice restaurant at the entrance.
From Chorao, you can access to the 3 differents main cities of north Goa. You can reach each city from 3 differents side on the island:
- Mapusa (Pomburpa ferry): very good for market and way to beaches (Vagator/anjuna/mandrem/ashwem direction)
-Panjim (Ribandar ferry): capital of Goa, good to go out and any kind of shoping
- Bicholim (bicholim road: east of Chorao): less touristic, more "india city". Beautifull road in the middle of cashews plantation and rice field. Nice lake in Mayem, good market for food.
- Goa hot spots: Saturday night market near Vagator and flee market every wednesday in Anjuna.
Getting AroundSudesh can pick you up at the airport and drop you at the Luduvina Villa, he will charge 1400 rs for that. If necessary he can assist you in your trips to Hampi, Gokarna or Dudhsagar falls. Other Things to NoteNatacha will welcome you and explain how works the house.
Each bedroom has its own double wooden and confortable bed (home made design), with mosquito net that you can fix very easily.
The house has a well, and the water is pumped from there to the water tank on the roof. When the water-tank is empty, you just have to plug the pump, and don't forget to unpluged it when it overflows. It's not drinkable water.
You can find all the bedsheets, towels, blankets, pillows and mosquito net in the big yellow cupboard (partition between the gallery and the open bedroom).
In the entrance you can find the time table of the pomburpa ferry. No need time table on Ribandar side, it works continusly.
You can get ferries all night long but you have to ask for a "special ferry" (50 Rs) and horn to get it, after midnight on Pomburpa side and after 2am on Ribandar side. Even during day time you can ask for a "special ferry" if you're late...
There are some small shops on Chorao Island, about 5 mn walking, on Saoud side, where you could buy grocery products ( Alcino's and Raju's).
As restaurant you have two option on Chorao, close by:
- Fatima, at Lafayette Restaurant (Saoud, near main church)
- Rocky, at Rockshells Restaurant (Pomburpa ferry side). Rocky can deliver food at home.
