The SpaceThis is a newly constructed home with modern amenities located in a quiet village convenient to Chiang Mai airport and city. One story home on large lot (5.5 rai, over 2 acres) with three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room and large living area/great room. Huge windows offer tons of natural light and panoramic views of the surrounding beauty--rice fields, mountains, small pond and river on the premises. This is a birder-watcher's paradise! Each bedroom has air conditioning. Two full baths inside with hot water, one outside full bathroom in natural setting. Enjoy the peace and quiet of village living with the convenience of restaurants, markets, shopping within 3 minutes in Doi Saket, or 20 minutes in Chiang Mai City. Gardener and groundskeeper lives next to premises. This is the best of both worlds and a way to experience traditional Thailand with modern, western amenities. Guest AccessThis rental is for the entire home; guests will have full run of the place, and be able to stroll through the large yard and orchard, sit by the pond on the property, and the small river behind it. Interaction with GuestsThis rental is perfect for people who prefer their privacy, and are looking to live independently and autonomously while in Chiang Mai. We are in and out of Chiang Mai and will not be on the premises, but will have someone available to help with check in and check out if needed. The NeighborhoodThe home is in Doi Saket, which is about 20 minutes from the Center of Chiang Mai. We think it is the perfect distance to be able to easily go in and out of the city every day, and enjoy all that Chiang Mai has to offer, but still escape the noise, the pollution and traffic and enjoy a more traditional Thai experience. Our home is surrounded by mountains rice fields, so you can see traditional farmers working with their fields, cows, buffalo right next door, dozens of bird species, and walk (or drive) the 1 mile to the quaint and convenient village of Doi Saket. Great for bike riding, great restaurants and markets in Doi Saket--you don't ever have to leave if you don't want to, but if you do, you're right there next to Chiang Mai. Getting AroundPublic transportation in Chiang Mai is a challenge--there are songtheaws (pick up trucks with roof and benches to sit on) that go to and from Doi Saket market to Chiang Mai, but people will have the most flexibility if they have their own car or motorcycle. Doi Saket is about 13km from the bus station, 15 km from the "old city" or the moat area, so biking enthusiasts might enjoy that distance too. Other Things to NoteTravelers with their own car/transport will find it easier; we are a 1 mile walk from the Doi Saket village center and while there is public transportation by songtheaw into Chiang Mai, it is time consuming and not for everyone.
