When the snow's up, you can park close to my elipically shaped, Rustic Asian, off the grid, straw bale home and find your way to the yurt on foot. With 4-wheel drive & good snow tires (in winter), most guests are able to drive right to the yurt stairs. I'm always here to help make your experience enjoyable. No real "neighborhood" here, though you may see the squirrels, chipmunks, birds, deer and so on - seasonally dependent, of course. There is free public transportation in town. You'll need your own transportation to get into town. The yurt is off the grid, and has 12 vdc and 120 vac power. I also provide oil candles to help set the romantic mood. I require a $80 cleaning/security deposit which is refunded when yurt is left in an "As clean as you found it condition." If you'd like me to clean it, I'm happy to lighten your load for $25 per hour. Guest AccessGuests have access to two pair of snow shoes for an adventure right out the door. Firewood, linens, towels and the like are provided. The SpaceThis beautiful, comfortable, tastefully furnished cabin is right on the slopes of Tamarack Ski Resort, and is true ski-in and ski-out on the Poma Lift. While the lift only operates on weekends and holidays, being located near the top of the run means it is only a short walk up to be able to ski down to Tamarack Express and the Discovery Chair on the other days of the week. Our place has all you will need for a great vacation; a luxurious memory foam bed, beautiful furniture throughout, a gas fireplace, well-furnished kitchen, 42" TV with DVD and TV viewing that includes Sling TV and Netflix, high speed wireless internet, private hot tub, and a deck right on the slopes. There are books to read, DVDs to watch, and music for the Bose radio/CD. There are views of the mountain and its slopes on the back deck. A perfect place for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine after your adventures of the day. The cabin has a downstairs master bedroom with a king size memory foam bed and private bath with a soaker tub, while the upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, plus a full-size futon couch and it's own bathroom, as well as a walk-in closet giving you plenty of storage space. The deck has great views, with a gas grill and your own private hot tub overlooking the slopes. Tamarack Resort is your gateway to adventure. The resort has won multiple accolades, including Ski magazine's Best of the Blues, as well as a ranking of #3 in the nation for its cross-country skiing by USA Today. For bikers and hikers, Tamarack has 30 miles of IMBA-designed trails that cross open meadows and forested slopes, and begin adjacent to the cabin. For the adrenalin-rush seeker, there is an on-mountain zip line covering 4,475 feet with a 1,700 vertical drop. This is a great place to be for adventure, and to unwind. Guest AccessTamarack is one of Idaho's treasures, with great alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biking, hiking, boating, and nature viewing. Beautifully designed, the resort has an ambience that immediately brings a sense of relaxation and being a part of nature. With a hiking/biking trail right next to the cottage, you can be off exploring and playing in no time. Plus, you can literally step off the deck and be on the slopes. The resort has won multiple awards and accolades including Ski magazine's Best of the Blues, Rookie of the Year for the West Bliss run, an article in the New York Post entitled, 'Five Slopes You Have Never Skied (But Probably Should)', an article in USA Today entitled 'Ten Great Places to Pursue Your Halfpipe Dreams', as well as a ranking of #3 in the nation for its cross-country skiing by USA Today. More Summer fun is available on Tamarack's IMBA-designed trails. There are 30 miles of trails across open meadows and down forested slopes. Plus a big zip line tour is available on mountain. More adventure is available on the nearby Payette River with world-famous Class IV runs for the experts, and more family-friendly rapids ranging from Class I floats to Class III rapids. Off season spring and fall - please note that all restaurants and resort amenities close during the shoulder seasons. You are truly in a cabin in the woods with the main activities being those that you create: hiking, biking, board games and hot tubbing. NOTE: At this time, the golf course, spa, fitness center and pool are closed. We are hopeful that this will change soon. Interaction with GuestsI will not be onsite during your stay but will be available by text and phone at any time. If you really want to get away, you can travel over to Hells Canyon for backcountry backpacking. Come winter, head just eight miles away to Idaho’s best-kept secret—Brundage Mountain. Over 150 inches of powder fall on this ski area, enough to tickle every bone in a skier’s body. Stephen Lyons, writing about McCall at sunset, says: "No postcard, no poem, no million-dollar advertising campaign can convey this quality of light and shadow and dusky color." He’s right. The SpaceThis contemporary 2 bedroom, 1 Bath home lives bigger than the 1200SF on its 1/3 acre would lead you to believe. "Morning Wood" is a completely original and space efficient design perfect for up to six. The 500SF life-happens-in-the-kitchen ground floor brings everyone together to cook, relax, listen to music, and watch DVDs in surround sound. (No cable or dish service at this time) The six rolling office chairs, that encircle the huge granite island, are comfortable enough to sit in all day or night, and the built-in foot rest makes kicking back a must. The HD flat screen is high enough above the sunken cooking area so it can't be blocked by the chef of trips to the elevated fridge. There's even a trash chute that eliminates the need to take out the trash. A four-person hot tub sits next to a manmade creek. The bathroom has no place to plug in hair tools so it's open more often. And because the shower is in its own room the toilet stays open. Each bedroom has its own vanity with all the tools to make you pretty and to keep the shower/toilets vacant. There's one with a king size Euro-foam bed and one with a queen. The laundry room is upstairs where most of the laundry happens. A gas stove and custom spin bike come with the package. A shotski with a history works year round, and the day beds are a comfly place to hang with the group as well as camp all night. A large circular driveway Keeps you off the street and can handle most trailers. The one-car garage is great to secure toys and gear.
