Short stays are welcome but so too are longer stays of 1 or 2 months. If you are working temporarily in Sydney, this place offers comforts and freedom of a home lifestyle. Special rates may be possible for longer stays depending on season so enquire before booking. Guest AccessThis apartment is about lifestyle; large expanses of polished wood floors, furnished sparingly with design furniture and a few select art pieces. Uncomplicated space is the luxury here.
The large bedroom sleeps two people and has a queen size bed with feather pillows and heavy cotton sheets. Simple multi-function storage allows easy relief from suitcase living, even for short stays. The leafy view overlooks a quiet private courtyard. Only the birds may wake you up! Many guests comment on the extraordinary sounds of nature so close to the city.
The kitchen is well equipped and has a private guest fridge. The paved courtyard ideal for Sydney's amazing weather. Laundry facilities are available at discretion of the host. Towels and linen are all provided and changed as needed, so to is room cleaning. Television and DVD facilities can be used in the living room. Free WiFi is also available throughout the apartment and garden. Interaction with GuestsYour host is a freelancer and sometimes works from a home office. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with him when resident. The place is large and well laid out to provide private space for all. The host has private space that he can withdraw to, making you feel like it's all-yours on a regular basis. You will find him knowledgeable and helpful for the Sydney first-timer! A personal Double Bay map is provided on arrival along with Opal transport cards if needed and tips. The NeighborhoodThere is a small schoolhouse across the road, beyond that a small park then less than 100m away (60yds) from the front door is the ferry direct to the city. A peaceful and safe environment 50m (30yds) from the shopping village famous for boutiques, cafes and restaurants and with a 7/11 supermarket.
Considered one of Sydney's most prestige suburbs it is a perfect location to base your visit, for work or pleasure. Its close proximity to the city, while sheltered from the hustle & bustle, offers welcome homely relief after a busy day. Getting AroundSydney downtown is less than 4km (2.5miles). From there it's 1 minute walk to Opera House, The Rocks 'Old Town', Botanical Gardens, Central Business District and main transport terminal. The fastest way is ferry in 10 minutes, train (Edgecliff) in 15 minutes or bus in 25 minutes.
If here to work, commuting by ferry offers a spectacular way to start the day, arriving at Circular Quay between Opera House and bridge. Many guests flag this as the highlight of their stay.
If you catch the ferry in the opposite direction, you'll soon be in beautiful Watson's Bay - with clifftop nature reserve, beaches, more restaurants and cafes, and from 'The Gap' a breathtaking 360 vista of ocean and harbour, including spectacular views of the city in the distance.
