The rustic cabin offered at this glamping site is a fully restored miner’s cabin. Guests will find a lovely river rock patio between the cabin and the river—the perfect spot to relax at any time of day with its comfortable chairs, serpentine rock table, fire pit with a BBQ grate (wood provided), and a little room for the hammock cot. There is also a folding card table stowed below the river porch for more elaborate get-togethers. In addition to the BBQ and the fire pit on the private rock patio, there are also Weber barbecues set up on the main patio of the grounds. The cabin is mere feet from the Trinity River, and it has an incredibly cool, covered porch that has two chairs and a table. This cabin comfortably accommodates two people, but can sleep up to a maximum of three. While priced for two guests, one more may be included if a couple is sharing the queen bed. An extra fee of $15.75 per night will apply to the third guest.Inside the cabin, there is a queen-size bed in the loft (which can be reached by a wide, fixed, slanted ladder) and an oak twin captain’s bed/sofa bed in the living room that can sleep one additional guest. There is also a double rocker, a small dining set, and some very beautiful antiques in the living room. A faux Franklin wood-stove heater for warmth and ambiance. Within the cabin’s minimalist kitchen, guests will have a sink, toaster oven, a microwave, a deep electric skillet, a Keurig single-cup coffeemaker (with coffee pods, creamer, and sweetener included), and a regular coffeemaker. There is cookware, dining ware and serving ware, making a meal at home an easy task. There is also a dorm-sized refrigerator, and the site supplies a huge cooler with frozen one-gallon water bottles. The bathroom has a big shower and the toilet. The cabin also has Wi-Fi, and guests will have access to a large parking lot at the entrance that’s perfect for boats and vehicles. While this is a very private accommodation, the cabin is located a little way down the mountain from California State Route 299, a highway, and guests will hear some noise from it, including log trucks. Almost all previous guests have agreed that the ambient noise from the river and local birds more than make up for the highway nearby, but if this will be an issue for guests, please contact the host for alternative accommodations.

The SpaceThe Carriage House is a comfortable, unique 1BR/1BA/full kitchen cabin with a swamp cooler for summer and cozy wood stove plus gas heat for winter. It is in easy wading distance to popular steelhead riffles and there's a salmon hole right in front of it. Some of our winter steelhead guests come every year and never drive once they've arrived. They fish right here and do very well. See our photos for some of their fish shots. This is a rustic, romantic getaway for a couple, but it works well for 2-3 singles with one in the queen log bed, one in the twin captain's bed and one on the very nice leather and tapestry couch (bring a sleeping bag for the couch). It's located on spacious lawns overlooking the Trinity River. There is a swimming hole with rope swing on the property, year-round trout fishing, beautiful birdsong and great tranquility. The interior is almost all cedar. The full kitchen has everything you might need. The bedroom has a queen log bed, plus there's a twin captain's bed in the living room along with a stunning leather and wildlife tapestry couch and love seat. The deep, covered back porch on the river side has a mister for hot days, 2nd dining set, plenty of room for drying gear, and is wonderful to relax on. The Weber & gas BBQ patio is next to the cabin. It has a great fire pit as well. Wood is provided for the wood stove and the fire pit. AIRBNB has no section to add local taxes, which are 5% of the lodging. We will add tax in a quote when you send a request. Also, we are dog-friendly with friendly dogs and charge $15 per dog per stay (please ask if you would like to bring your dog(s). We need an accurate count on human and canine guests. Experience end of the lane peace and privacy. There are only 2 other cabins ("Grand A Frame on Trinity River" and "On the River, Romantic & Private" on this 1+ acre property. You can rent all for a larger group; it's great for small weddings and reunions. We also have a delightful 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin with use of the hot tub overlooking the river at our Lewiston cabin ("Rustic, Peaceful, Near the Trinity"), which is also at the end of the lane. And we have a neat place in Dunsmuir for fishers, skiers and hikers ("Lovely Dunsmuir Haus~Late Checkouts"). We offer kayak, raft, cataraft and stand up paddleboard (SUP) rentals, lessons and guided trips. Our guided kayak river trips include a thorough lesson before departure. We are very good at teaching and supply everything you need. The river has gentle meanders with some mild but still fun rapids; or you can paddle on Lewiston Lake, which is also stunning (wonderful birding: great blue herons, bald eagles, golden eagles, osprey & more; we often see great blue herons, osprey, night herons and occasionally, bald eagles on our river trips). We prefer Lewiston Lake to Trinity Lake because it has a 10 MPH speed limit, resulting in a peaceful place to SUP, kayak with kids and dogs, and fish. All raft trips on the river are guided by us, but you can rent a raft for lake use, too. We're Jimmy Styks and NRS SUP dealers and offer free demos, as well as lessons, rentals and sales. We have wonderful inflatable SUPs that you can carry in their backpack in a very small vehicle, then pump up at the lake. Our hard boards are top quality and offer even more options for you! Pristine, stream-fed ponds just a few miles away provide warmer water than the river for swimming, and are a nice option for families with small kids. Our grand SUP Adventure Package takes you from never-been-on-a-SUP-before, all the way to a river run in three days of carefully designed, individualized coaching on increasingly more challenging paddles. This package is suitable for older kids all the way up to people in their 60s and older, depending on general health and desired level of adventure. We also offer a similar Kayak Adventure Package. All of our packages are tailored to the individual and we are very good at this, never pushing you beyond your comfort zone, yet showing you how to expand it with our help. Michael Caranci of The Fly Shop in Redding says of our cabins: 'For sheer seclusion, access, and cozy, comfortable accommodations, the cabins at the Trinity River Adventure Cabins are certainly among the best.' Guest AccessEasy river access in front of your cabin. BBQ patio also has a great fire pit. Park in front of your cabin or in the nearby lot. Interaction with GuestsUnless we're over there doing maintenance, you won't see us. Consider us close enough if needed, and far enough away to enjoy your time in privacy. The NeighborhoodNothing beats time spent on the river. Take a book down and float around on an inner tube in the eddy (gentle upriver flow) while reading, or sit up by the lawn in the log swing, or any of the many comfortable chairs around the property. Getting AroundA Trinity Transit bus does go by up at the highway a few blocks away, but best to drive your vehicle here. Other Things to NoteHighway 299 goes by up the mountain a bit and over a berm. You can hear traffic on it, but this isn't the city and it is not constant.

The SpaceGood views of the Trinity Alps, fishing, rafting, bicycle riding, gold-panning. The house fits 7 people very comfortably, but 2 more guests can be added with a fee. The house is very clean, spacious, comfortable, not fancy. Guest AccessGuest will be able to use our private river front on the Trinity River. Great for fly-fishing, swimming, launching a small boat, watching eagles fishing. Interaction with GuestsNot much, unless they need help with something. We live nearby. The NeighborhoodVery quiet, but close to town (Weaverville). Great bird watching, star watching, stone skipping on the river, bicycling, and fishing. Getting Aroundno public transportation. One will need a car. There's lots of room for parking, even for an RV or two.

The SpaceThe Miner's in one word: enchanting. It is a tiny jewel of a place located just a few feet from the Trinity River. It's pet-friendly, has world class fishing right outside your door and exquisite river and mountain views. The Miner's Landing is a fabulous river rock patio with a fire pit & BBQ grill right next to the river. What beats a fire and watching the stars in the night sky? The Miner's Cabin is a fully restored miner's cabin. Compared with camping, this is grand. Compared with a grand hotel, this is camping. This fantastic little cabin is mere feet from the Trinity River. It has a covered porch that overlooks the river which has two chairs and a table and looks out on a prime salmon spawning area. (If you know the Trinity, we're just upstream of Guardrail.) In its own private grove of trees, the Miner's is a romantic nod to the past. It's the kind of place you'll take a bunch of pictures of to show off to friends when you get home. There's a loft with a queen bed; an oak twin captain's bed/couch in the living room that can sleep 1 additional guest; a double rocker; a small dining set; and it's richly appointed with antiques. If approved, a fourth guest can bring a sleeping bag and sleep on a (provided) sleeping pad, but this is a small cabin and best enjoyed by 2-3. Minimalist cooking facilities, but there is a sink, toaster oven, microwave, deep electric skillet and Farberware single-cup coffee maker with coffee pods included. AIR does not have a way to add lodging tax, which is 5% of just the lodging fee. We are dog-friendly with friendly dogs. There is a $15 charge per dog, per stay. Both the tax and pet fee may be paid when here. We have multiple night discounts for 3 or more nights, and we offer quiet season rates after Presidents Day Weekend and before Memorial Day Weekend, so your quote may change if your dates are far enough in the future. If you send a request, we'll send an accurate quote back to you. Two 2013 parties brought cast iron cookware and cooked on the fire pit/BBQ or their own tabletop Weber down on the landing. We dropped in on one of the return parties, and visited while he fried gorgeous potatoes in cast iron over an open fire. He patiently turned each herb-seasoned chunk as we caught up with their travels. They had just spent a month in Europe, mostly Paris and some of Italy, but were anxious to return to the Miner's beside the river. BBQ on the landing, or bring a camp stove and cook on the landing (please not in cabin; we have limited emergency response resources up here and a fire could be devastating). We have gas and Weber BBQs up on the main patio between Alpen Glow & Carriage House. There is cookware, dining ware and serving ware. Dorm-sized refrigerator, plus we supply a huge cooler. The bathroom features a roomy shower with the toilet in it (like you see on some boats and in some trailers). We are always upgrading our cabins. We paved the main drive and put in a large parking lot at the entrance that's great for boats and vehicles, but Miner's guests have their own parking close to the cabin. All of our Steel Bridge cabins are Wi-Fi. You really are going to love this place. Guest AccessGuests have access to the river for fishing, and the riffles (known as Guardrail) in wading distance from the Miner's are well-known for steelhead, salmon and trout fishing. Guests may also use the rope swing just upriver of their cabin. They can lounge on the large lawn just upriver of their cabin, as well as the log swing and chairs overlooking the river (although their landing is more private and stunning). If they prefer a gas grill to the fire pit/BBQ on their private river rock landing, they may use the grills on the BBQ patio between Alpen Glow and the Carriage House (about a minute's walk up the trail from the Miner's). Interaction with GuestsGuests see us if they want to and largely don't otherwise, unless we are doing maintenance on the property or they book a kayaking or rafting trip with us (highly recommended). The NeighborhoodRiver, mountains, trees, sky, river otters, occasinal bald eagles, osprey and in the fall, you can watch salmon spawn from the cabin or landing! Getting AroundWe do have public transit, but it is limited. Bringing wheels is best. Other Things to NoteThe highway does go by the Miner's Cabin just up the hill and over a berm, so you will hear traffic. But most guests agree the privacy of the cabin, the incredible river view and access, and the birdsong and river sounds more than make up for it.

The SpaceIf you send a request, we'll send an accurate quote back to you! (AIR does not accommodate lodging tax nor pet fees. ) Alpen Glow is a wonderful, pet-friendly cabin that has an extraordinary deck overlooking the river. The railings are see-through with stainless steel cable horizontals to optimize the view! Alpen Glow has Wi-Fi, cable TV, DVD player and a (shared) land line phone with free long distance. It has all kinds of sleeping areas, including two lofts (one is an enormous master loft with a CalKing bed and in-room Jacuzzi tub. Its closets are so large, we even put a twin bed in one of them). There is one traditional bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed and the leather sectional in the living room has a queen hide-a-bed in it as well as room for another sleeper on the other side of the couch. Yes, it is THAT big! More details below: The lofts are open, but do not look on each other. The spacious Master Loft has a California King log bed with an organic memory foam topper, wood stove, Jacuzzi tub in room (not an outdoor hot tub; a bathing tub), queen futon and a private bath (toilet & shower; double vanity). It has a private deck that looks down on the river. The River Loft log bed looks out over the river, mountains and sky! The traditional bedroom on the main floor has a handsome wrought iron queen bed with pillowtop mattress and a twin bed. The huge kitchen is fully appointed. Pretty much, if it doesn't have it, you don't need it. There is a large pantry with many basics, including quality spices. Dining for 8 (if approved; Alpen Glow is priced for up to 7 guests). The large living room has 30 foot ceilings, an electric fireplace that provides pleasant heat and is stunning to watch, an extensive library, flat panel TV with Dish TV and DVD player with a large library of movies. The very large leather sectional features a recliner and a comfortable hide-a-bed, so extra guests can sleep there and not on the futon in the master loft, which gives everyone more privacy. There's a mud room that's great for drying gear. The mud room has an additional pantry, washer and dryer, plus a deep sink. There's an enormous deck overlooking the Trinity River, mountains and trees. There is a shared BBQ/fire pit patio (wood provided). Birdsong is so abundant, it boggles the mind. There is salmon and trout fishing at the cabin, plus a swimming hole with rope swing. Wonderful ponds nearby are warmer than the river in summer, and fun for calm water swimming and playing with your dogs. A log swing and comfy chairs are all around the 1.15 acre lot that is shared by 3 other cabins, each unique in its own right and private from each other, but close enough you can rent all for a large group, as many family reunions in summer and fishing groups in winter do. There are no other properties on the Trinity River that equal this location. It really does have everything. Guest AccessGuests have their own salmon hole and the parking lot is large enough to accommodate several trailers with rafts and drift boats. Interaction with GuestsYou only see us if you would like to, unless we're on the property doing maintenance. It's your vacation, and we treat your privacy accordingly. The NeighborhoodNothing beats staying right on the river, whether you fish, swim, play in it with your dogs, or just want to sit and look at it burbling past. Getting AroundThere is public transit, but better to drive here so you can check out all that trinity County has to offer! Other Things to NoteHighway 299 goes by up the mountain a bit and over a berm. You can hear traffic on it, but this isn't the city and it is not constant.

The Arttus Ranch is a house located in Douglas City, near Weaverville, in the "Trinity Alps" area of Northern California. It is on the Trinity River, and offers fabulous fishing, bicycling, birding, dark skies, and quiet. The ranch is 17 miles from the historic gold-mining town of Weaverville and 45 miles from Redding. The Arttus Ranch is located outside of Douglas City, along the Trinity River. Douglas City is about 7 miles from Weaverville. It takes about 15 minutes to get from the ranch to "town", or Weaverville. Weaverville is an old historic gold-mining town, with some great museums and historic places of interest. It's a very walkable kind of town, with a great supermarket, some farmer's markets, a once a month "Art Cruise" of town artists. It's easy to get into town, but even better to get out of it, & enjoy the ranch. There, you can walk along the river, skip stones, dig for gold, bird watch, fish. It's a fabulous spot for star watching! The "Trinity Alps" are midway between Redding, CA and the coast, or Eureka, on Hwy 299. It's a convenient place to meet family members or friends coming down from Oregon. The ranch is about 45 minutes from Redding on Hwy 5, which, in turn, is about 4 1/2 hours from SF or the Bay Area.

The SpaceWe own many Trinity River vacation cabins, and the Birdhouse is our newest, as we've converted it from a full-time rental to vacation use. It's called the Birdhouse because of all of the species that surround it, including many songbirds, osprey and bald eagle. As we learned working on the Birdhouse, this place is very comfortable and welcoming. You're in another world, thanks to the serenity of the place. It is so private, if you never got dressed during the day, nobody would know. The living room is large, bright and airy, with many windows looking out on the porch and into the trees. A door leads out to the wraparound porch from the living room. It is heavily frequented by a lot of birds, so we suggest leaving the porch to them, although if you sit quietly, they'll feed while you're outside. Otherwise, you can enjoy watching them through the large windows. The Birdhouse has interesting furnishings that include antiques and fine art. There is a really good wood stove (wood provided in winter) and gas heat as well. It has a swamp cooler for summer. Both bedrooms have queen beds with superb mattresses and bedding. One bed frame is carved and pressed oak and the other has a headboard with cabinets, a mirror and reading light. The kitchen has a gas stove, lots of counter and cabinet space, and looks out to a fine old cedar. Many staples are provided, including dish soap, hand soap, a coffeemaker with a permanent filter as well as paper filters, herbs, condiments, sugar and more. The bathroom got a full tile job, with mosaics in the bath/shower surround and an Italian tile floor. It has a new dual flush toilet and older oak cabinets. Shampoo and conditioner are included, as are towels, washcloths and a hair turban for long-haired guests after bathing. There is a sunroom off the living room with its own door to the wraparound porch. Four singles can be accommodated using the sunroom's quality futon for a third sleeping space and the fourth can sleep on the couch. Sleeping bags would need to be brought for the futon and couch; we'll provide towels and wash cloths. The birds are fun to watch at the feeders on the porch. The shady garden has an apple tree, locusts, butterfly bushes and evergreens. It is an incredibly peaceful space and has comfortable furniture for enjoying it. The river view across the road is beautiful and guests have full use of the shoreline at that property as well. There is a rudimentary launch ramp for rafts, kayaks and drift boats, and parking for extra vehicles and boats there is included with the Birdhouse. Guest AccessGuests will enjoy driving or walking out to the end of Steel Bridge Road (about 1/2 mile) and floating the Trinity River down to our river property with their own inner tubes, rafts or kayaks. (We do lead guided river trips on sit-on-top kayaks--lessons included--or in our raft; we also rent stand-up paddleboards and kayaks for lake use.) Interaction with GuestsWe like to leave our guests alone so they can enjoy their privacy at the Birdhouse, but we're only about 15 minutes away if needed. We wanted to go for the total unplugged experience at the Birdhouse, but felt a phone was pretty important, so we installed a basic line and guests are asked to pay a small fee for usage. Guests can check email at our other cabins' location a mile and a half away, or at one of many Wi-Fi locations in Weaverville (12 minutes away; listed in our welcome book). Cell coverage is OK at about Douglas City on 299 (a few miles west of Steel Bridge Road) and is very good anywhere in Weaverville. The NeighborhoodThis is a great place for walkers, runners and bicyclists, because Steel Bridge Road has little traffic and people drive reasonably on it. Many residents can be spotted on their morning or evening walks, with or without dogs. We offer free stand-up paddleboard (SUP) demos at our cabin, about 15 minutes away, when time permits. We also offer guided river kayak lessons and trips, guided river raft trips, and SUP and kayak rentals for Lewiston Lake, which is stunning and has bald eagles, osprey and more. Getting AroundYou need a vehicle to get around in Trinity County, but there is public transit access out at Highway 299 and Steel Bridge Road. Other Things to NoteWe are pet-friendly with very good dogs, but there is a $15 one-time charge per dog per stay IF approved. (This is a great place for dogs!) AIRBNB does not accommodate lodging taxes, which is crazy, since we must collect and pay them. Our Trinity County lodging tax is only 5% of the lodging fee, and guests may pay it upon arrival. Winter rates rise $20 per day for guests who opt not to use the great wood stove and instead go with very expensive propane heat for extended use beyond taking the chill off in the morning or upon arrival back to the cabin while a fire is built. Guests should advise us of their preference when reserving so we can make an adjustment to the rate. We provide plenty of kindling, paper and split wood and build the first fire. Fire-building directions are posted by the wood stove. It's a big stove and can hold a lot of wood. Several logs will keep the place cozy warm all day or night. If wood isn't burned and the propane tank gauge is down substantially from where it was, we will retroactively bill the guest through AIRBNB. The driveway is blacktop and has parking in two locations--one lower and one at the dining room door--but only skilled, careful drivers should use the upper drive. The driveway is completely doable when one uses care, but it's next to a sloped bank on one side and an incline on the other. Backing down requires careful driving and it's highly recommended that drivers set their rearview side mirrors low so they can see the driveway as well as the bank. It helps to have someone watching to guide them. Otherwise, use the lower drive and walk up one flight of stairs to the back door.

The SpaceCute 1 full bedroom with very comfy queen bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. The cabin is fully furnished and one block from Trinity River access, located in the Poker Bar community. This cabin has comfy furniture and many kitchen amenities; a full sized washer & dryer, air conditioning/heating, DISH TV,Internet, DVD player and privacy. It's a perfect place to get away, 'unplug' from the daily grind and enjoy serenity. It's also a world class fishing area for those wanting to enjoy what the river has to offer in terms of fishing, kayaking, rafting, as well as hiking and enjoying the historic sites in the area. It is close to Weaverville and Lewiston which have annual craft fairs, special holiday events, a great farmer's markets on Wednesdays (mid-May through mid-October), Weaverville Art Walks the first weekends of the month, amazing performances at the Trinity Performing Arts Center, close to Mt. Shasta Ski Park and there are many events in the general area throughout the year. Guest AccessAccess is gained by a key box located on the front porch. I will provide the code one day prior to your stay, usually late afternoon/early evening. The area is dark at night but I turn on the front porch light for guests' arrival and have lights on inside. When approaching the cabin, you will see LED solar night lights leading up to the front entrance. Please alert host if arriving when dark, as you will need to print out directions and follow them closely. Again, it's very dark with few street lights around the area. Interaction with GuestsI live part-time on the opposite side, right on the river and am sometimes at home. In the summer I have inner tubes in the cabin, bikes available and can provide tips on the area and information about kayaking or rafting trips, fishing holes, etc. I can also rent of my kayaks or take trips with guests; please ask me. There are also many brochures in the cabin about rentals, area attractions, etc. In the winter, there is plenty of skiing and boarding in the area; Mt. Shasta Ski Park and Scotts Mountain. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a mix of Bay Area retirees, vacation homes, and/or locals who have either fully retired to the area or come to Poker Bar regularly as their second home. Please go the speed limits posted on the roads, respect the land and river, be safe and have fun! It's fun to bike/walk up and down Reo Lane and/or Bridge Road-(ask me about using bikes), swim in the area lakes or just hike around. You can start your raft/kayak trip by accessing the river by my main house and traveling down the river to Indian Creek Resort which has a staging/parking lot next to it; plan a shuttle beforehand. Be extra safe if you tube down the river--at times the water is dangerously fast. Getting AroundWeaverville is 12 miles away to the west on Hwy 299. It has all the shopping you need or those coming from the Redding area have loads of options. The farmers market is held on Wednesdays from mid-May to mid-October. Weaverville has a great performing arts center, movie theater, and bowling alley, food markets, and a CVS store. Trinity River Rafting (Big Flat) or Old Bridge Rafting (Lewiston) can book you on rafting or kayak trips. Travis from Sweet Trinity Guide Service is my choice for a fishing guide. Fishing is popular and there are many guide services throughout the local area--contact the River Restoration website for current fishing info. Great restaurants(*) to visit in Weaverville: The Cafe at Indian Creek* for breakfast/dinner and their sister cafe, The Lunchbox* for lunch, Trinity Alps Golf Course*, La Grange Restaurant, The Nugget, Strawhouse in Junction City, and Mama Llamas downtown (coffee joint). Other Things to NoteI currently have all of the cooking comforts of a home, but guests may want to venture out to the local restaurants. There's a new sports bar in town called Tangle Blue Saloon. It's on the left side when driving into Weaverville just before Round Table Pizza and The Lunchbox restaurants. The cabin has split AC/heating wall units; one in the bedroom and one in the living room to efficiently cool and/or heat you during your stay. Please turn off when not in use and also at the end of your stay. Pets are also welcome at the cabin, however, please do not leave them alone inside for fear of accidents and always please let me know when bringing a pet(s).

The SpaceAbsolutely amazing property for Steelhead fisherman or hiking enthusiast. Launch from the property and drift to Indian creek, or drive to buck tail or steel bridge and take out at the property. The river is yours. Guest AccessYou have river frontage and about 100 yards upstream. The property meets BLM land in the front and there are many miles of trail along the mining ditch that was used during the gold rush days. Lots to explore, and a cozy spot to relax whether you are here for the amazing Salmon and Steelhead fishing, drifting down the river on an innertube, panning for gold, or just relaxing in the woods, Interaction with GuestsThis is a remote mountain property. I have satellite internet and sometimes one bar with Verison if I stand on one foot and face South. You get the idea. I live in San Francisco. We will be able to communicate via email and I am ALWAYS available. The NeighborhoodYou can not see your nearest neighbor. Everyone in the area is friendly. Respect their private property unless invited. Other Things to NoteThe primary heating for my house is a wood burning stove. There is an abundance of dry, split, ready to burn wood. If you can not build a fire, do not rent this house in the wintertime. There is electric portable heaters in the bedrooms to take the edge off.

The Miner's Cabin is a knockout and very popular. In case our calendar is full the dates you'd like, contact us, Heidi & Steph, as we have several more cabins that could work for you. We have a generous multiple night discount, especially Sunday-Thursday, and we have a really great weekly rate, but your best price will always come from contacting us direct. Click on the right for our phone number and call us for special rates for 3 or more nights, or click on the email link and drop us a line. Our response rate is actually far faster than noted here (usually no more than and hour or two), because many guests contact us direct and we sometimes don't respond to the automatically generated email from VRBO. In one word, the Miner's is enchanting. Fish the famed and very productive Guardrail Steelhead Riffles mere feet from this cabin! It's a genuine miner's cabin that sits on the Trinity River and has world class fishing and views. On an acre and a quarter with three of our other cabins, the Miner's is situated in a grove of trees all by itself. It's romantic, private, has its own river rock landing with a fire pit/BBQ, unique beyond words and the views from each window are marvelous. Compared to a luxury hotel, this is camping. Compared to camping, this is luxury. The kitchenette area includes a single-cup coffee maker with K-Cup coffees & creamers (regular coffee maker by request); toaster oven, microwave, large and deep electric skillet, Crock Pot, and a dorm-sized refrigerator. Outside on the covered river porch, you'll find a table and chairs as well as a very large cooler with frozen water jugs for cooling. You may bring and use a camp stove out there. The decor is rich and rustic, with antiques and nice touches everywhere. The living area has a double rocker, an oak twin captain's bed/couch with drawers underneath, a small chest of drawers and an antique chest/table with games and cards inside. There is a small dining table that has one fold-out leaf and 2 stools. The dining set can be rolled where you like (including out on the river porch). There is a lighted ceiling fan, a faux wood stove heater that looks like the real thing but without the fire danger, and an electric baseboard heater. There is a folding indoor/outdoor table that is also a checkerboard (checkers in side pocket). The bathroom has an all-in-one shower & toilet (the shower is to the side of the toilet). There is a clock/ipod/MP3 player. The loft is accessed by a wide, slanted, permanently-installed ladder. It has a plush queen bed guests really enjoy, a small dresser and a bookshelf with interesting books, including one that tells the story of your hosts' work with whales (chapter 10/Eye of the Whale). Guests rave over the custom windows and their views. The Miner's Landing is a fantastic river rock patio between the Miner's and the river, and it's only for the Miner's guests. It has a fire pit with BBQ grill (wood provided); Adirondack chairs and a stunning large serpentine rock that serves as a small table. Reviews are astounding for the Miner's and it is exceptionally popular. Guests at the Miner's have their own covered parking spot close to their cabin. They enjoy full use of the grounds, including the swimming hole and the gas grill and Weber BBQ patio up the trail between Alpen Glow and the Carriage House. Look at all of the pictures. You'll know if you're the kind of person who will love it. Most do. Fish right outside your door; this is one of the closest cabins to the Trinity on the entire river. The Miner's Cabin is just a few feet above the Trinity River. It was a real miner's cabin during the Gold Rush and has been lovingly restored and enhanced, because not too many miners' cabins had indoor plumbing. Fishers go crazy over this cabin and non-fishers who just want to hang out with a good book do as well. Fall through winter, the steelhead fishery is fantastic. Summer-fall is salmon season on the Trinity, and we have a salmon hole on the property. The river and Lewiston Lake feature trout fishing, too. We installed a large parking lot at the entrance to our property that's perfect for drift boats and rafts. The main drive is paved. Be aware highway 299 goes by up the mountain a bit and over a berm. You will hear vehicles on it, but they aren't constant and it quiets down a lot at night. The Miner's is one of our 5 great, dog-friendly river cabins that range all the way from the grand Alpen Glow, a 3BR/2BA A-frame starting @ $275.00/night to a 3BR/2BA cabin perfect for large fishing groups @ $165/night (multiple night discounts available). We also have an ultra-private 2 bedroom/1 bath cabin farther out Steel Bridge Road with use of the river lot across the quiet road (call for details). Michael Caranci of The Fly Shop in Redding says of our cabins: 'For sheer seclusion, access, and cozy, comfortable accommodations, the cabins at the Trinity River Adventure Inn are certainly among the best!' We offer sit-on-top kayak lessons, guided trips and rentals; guided raft trips and rentals; and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) demos (which are free), lessons and rentals. We have inflatable SUPs and hard boards, which are both great for the lakes. This is a very comfortable and nicely appointed historic cabin with a cool river-facing covered patio. We have special rates for 3 or more nights and stays close to the current date. Contact us, Heidi & Steph, by either clicking on the right for our phone number or sending us an email (that link's on the right as well). We also offer a dandy extended stay rate for traveling medical professionals and others who need a home away from home. Our response rate is usually within one to two hours, but VRBO rates us by how soon we respond to their automatically generated emails. If potential guests send a VRBO request and contact us directly, we deal with the auto emails in a more casual manner. The Carriage House has a rich cedar interior, rustic log bed and grand wildlife tapestry and leather couch and love seat. In summer, it holds its cool temperature well and has a swamp cooler to keep you comfortable. In winter, the wood stove is charming and very efficient, and there are traditional if less romantic heating options as well. The cabin was the original carriage house from the Vitzthum homestead before being converted into a cabin. It sits right on the river and has productive steelhead riffles in wading distance from your door. Not all vacation rentals are alike. Our cabins are owned and maintained by us. If you need us, we are here for you. This is worth considering, because nothing is worse than having a problem and calling a long-distance property owner. We know, because it happens up here all the time. The Carriage House has one bedroom and one bathroom and comfortably sleeps three in beds (2 in bedroom's queen log bed and 1 in captain's bed in living room). A fourth can sleep on the couch for an additional charge. We have multiple night discounts; please email or call for a quote on stays of 3 or more nights. This is a really comfortable, rustic cabin that looks out on the Trinity River from a dandy covered porch complete with a second dining set and lounge chairs. Inside, along with the bedroom with a queen log bed, you'll find a full bath and a full kitchen. Wood is provided for the wood stove, plus there is gas and electric heat. The cedar-paneled living room has a stunning wildlife tapestry and leather full-sized couch and loveseat set and a twin-sized captain's bed. The Carriage House is all one level; perfect for strollers and wheelchairs. Watch TV on the couch and loveseat, or from the dining table. Use the well-lighted antique secretary to tie flies or cruise the internet. The vast lawn between you and the river is perfect for playing ball with the kids, dogs or both. The large, deep, covered back porch looks out on the Trinity River, which is accessed at the edge of the lawn (2 steps down from cabin to porch). It has a glass and wicker dining set for 4 plus many other seating options. It's delightful for playing cards, reading, or just watching the river go by. There is a docking station to play your music from an ipod, MP3 or phone. There is a large parking lot at the entrance to our property. Guests can arrive, unload their vehicles, and leave them in the lot, which is also perfect for drift boats and rafts. The Carriage House is one of our three great cabins on 1.15 private acres off Steel Bridge Road near Douglas City. Cabins range from the romantic Miner's Cabin, which is one of the closest cabins to the water on the entire river, to 'Alpen Glow,' a grand 3BR/2BA A frame with a fabulous deck, incredible kitchen, large dining table, and lots of sleeping options (one of the most spectacular views EVER from the River Loft). Rates drop with stays of 3 or more nights. We will consider one-night stays, but the busier we are, the tougher it is to accommodate them. Shoulder seasons are easier (spring and fall). Each cabin has its own feel and plenty of privacy, plus you can rent all of the cabins for a wedding, reunion or company gathering. There can be great fishing from your bank. Fish the salmon hole; wade downstream to the steelhead riffles. The deep front porch is excellent for fishing gear and waders. Michael Caranci, FFF Certified Master Instructor with The Fly Shop in Redding, CA says: 'As a long time Trinity River angler and guide, and the Director of Outfitters for The Fly Shop in Redding, I've had the opportunity over the years to visit many of the different motels, lodges, and cabins along the Trinity River. For sheer seclusion, access, and cozy, comfortable accommodations, the cabins at the Trinity River Adventure Inn are certainly among the best.' Alpen Glow will dazzle you! Call us, Heidi and Steph (phone number is at right), to receive specials close to the date on this elegant, comfortable lodge overlooking the very close Trinity River (about a 45 second walk from the deck). We also have reduced rates for 3 or more nights, so call or email us (link at right) for the discount. Our response rate is actually far faster than noted here (usually no more than and hour or two), because many guests contact us direct and we sometimes don't respond to the automatically generated email from VRBO. FISH~KAYAK~RAFT~SUP~HIKE~SUP~GROOVE. NO MINIMUM STAY. DOG-FRIENDLY! Alpen Glow is our grandest cabin. It looks out on the very close Trinity River and is located just off Steel Bridge Road, between Lewiston and Douglas City. It has a great deck with stairs down to the sweeping lawns bordered by huge trees and the river. This is a prime fall spot for salmon (summer-fall) and steelhead (winter-spring). Trout are in the river all year, including big German browns. Some groups, such as fishing clubs and family reunions, rent all of the cabins on the property for total privacy, but each one is oriented so that you don't feel crowded. Alpen Glow has a huge kitchen with an Italian tile counter and bar. There is a gas stainless steel cooktop in the center island that's surrounded by Italian tile and butcher block, making meal prep a delight. It has a stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator and large dishwasher. The big pantry is well-stocked with the basics, plus lots of serving ware and nice touches for the table. There is a Keurig coffee maker with reusable pods to use your coffee in it, as well as a standard coffee maker. The dining table expands to seat 10 and the expansive living room has a really pretty electric fireplace with beautiful 'flames,' as well as a whole-house furnace and swamp cooler. Also in the living room: the bookcase with great reads, a flat panel TV with satellite TV, plus a DVD/VCR combo and lots of good movies. Furnishings are tasteful with fine art and many antiques. Several sliding doors open onto the enormous river deck which has a dining set, umbrella and many deck chairs and lounges. Graceful arbors over riverside sliders on the deck have beautiful seasonal flowers and vines. The shared BBQ/fire pit patio is great for roasting marshmallows, stargazing and tall tales. Alpen Glow has two unique lofts upstairs (separate sleeping areas that don't face each other but are open to different views) plus 1 traditional bedroom on the main floor. The Master Loft has wonderful mountain views from the California King log bed; a wood stove with wood provided; a private deck with river view; a sitting area, a privacy screen that may be moved; a queen futon and a built-in daybed; a Jacuzzi tub (not a hot tub); double vanity; and a private shower and toilet. The closets are so large, we put a twin bed in one with plenty of room left over to accommodate an adult's or kid's gear. It's grander than a Harry Potter bed under the stairs, and great for parents to stash a kid, or for a single adult. There is a good reading light in it and we also have portable reading lights for use anywhere. The River Loft has an incredible view from the plush, pillowtop queen log bed: it consists solely of river, mountains and sky! There is a full tiled bath (shower/tub combination; toilet; vanity) on the main floor, right next to the main floor bedroom and just around the corner from the living room or kitchen. The bedroom has a fine queen wrought iron bed and a twin bed, too. It has dressers, a closet and a work station on one side of the closet for telecommuters to work in private. Alpen Glow is one of our 5 great cabins on, or very close to, the river and part of a three cabin complex on prime Trinity River frontage. All have Wi-Fi and a land line phone (shared). We have everything from a romantic Miner's Cabin with a magical ambiance @ about $150/night to Alpen Glow, which has a very high WOW factor. Because you can rent all 3 cabins here, this is a dandy location for reunions, quilters and company off-sites. It's also perfect for small weddings. All or most of your wedding party can stay right there! You're close enough to mix with everyone else, but not too close. We have a parking area at the beginning of our property that's large enough to easily turn around with trailers on your vehicle, and plenty of parking space. You can unload, then just park it. Great for boats and larger vehicles, and boy, does this make fishing guides happy! Rates are for up to 7 guests. If approved, you may be able to add a few more guests. We limit numbers to keep each cabin's septic system happy, as well as in consideration of water use. If approved, additional guests are $15.75 each per night. Please contact us for discounts on stays of over 2 nights. Ask us about rates for stays of a week or more, which might be deeply discounted, especially in shoulder seasons (Sept-Oct and March into part of May). We offer kayak, raft, cataraft and stand up paddleboard (SUP) rentals, lessons and guided trips. Our guided kayak trips include a lesson before departure. If you'd rather raft and/or kayak the river unguided, we can arrange inflatable kayak (not great for steering, but very forgiving of rocks) and raft rentals. We offer free stand-up paddleboard lessons and demos at our place (about 15 minutes upriver) and rent wonderful inflatable SUPs that you can carry in their backpack in a very small vehicle, then pump up at the lake. Our hard boards offer even more options for you! Pristine, stream-fed ponds just a few miles away provide warmer water than the river for floating on a tube, and are a nice option for families with small kids. Michael Caranci of The Fly Shop in Redding says of our cabins: 'For sheer seclusion, access, and cozy, comfortable accommodations, the cabins at the Trinity River Adventure Inn are certainly among the best.' If you made it this far, then you know a lot about our cabins and the area, but you probably have questions and we'd love to answer them, so drop us an email or give us a call. My cabin is located in the Poker Bar community and is very cozy. It is one block away from fishing and kayaking on the Trinity River, near historic Lewiston, Douglas City & Weaverville, shopping, some great restaurants, theater and bowling alley, great views of stars at night, art and culture. The cabin has lots of privacy, comfort, a front and rear deck. It is a great getaway for couples and small groups or business travelers. This cabin has comfy furniture, a full kitchen with lots of amenities, propane BBQ on the deck; a full sized washer & dryer, TV with DISH, Internet and a DVD player with DVDs, a mini split air conditioning/heating and lots of privacy. It's a perfect place to get away, "unplug" from the daily grind and enjoy serenity, and a great place for fishermen/women wanting to enjoy what the river has to offer in terms of fishing, kayaking, rafting, as well as hiking, and enjoying the sites in the area. While the listing states that the cabin accommodates 4, it can sleep up to 7 (2 adults on the queen bed, 2 adults each on the twin beds outside the bedroom, 1 adult/child on a full size comfy couch, 1 child on the loveseat, and as an option when needed 1 to 2 people on a very comfortable queen blowup bed which can be positioned in the living room). The cabin is 12 miles east of Weaverville and about 5 miles from the main town of Lewiston. Both areas have annual craft fairs, special holiday events, a nice farmer's market in Weaverville on Wednesdays (May through mid-October), the Art Walk the first weekends of the month and the wonderful Trinity Performing Arts center music and comedy events during the month.
